  1. Past hour
  2. That’s a great photo!
  3. This is a very good quality plate, made by Fatboy Guitars Ltd. in Newport England, probably about 20 years ago. I have had it in a drawer for years and never even removed the plastic film so it is in new unmarked condition. The colour is a very pale mint green to my eyes which is not captured in the photos. Price includes UK postage.
  4. I would never try to impose my moral values on another adult. Heeheehee. I am interested to hear how longer term owners of this feature feel about it too. For me, an LED based set of side markers would be perfect... if not for having to remember to carry spare batteries. On an active bass it wouldn't be much extra to remember, yet I would rather keep some consistency between my lot. Like you, I would prefer not to have to carry a special torch. It more than cancels out the advantage of having no battery for the side dots if you still need to remember to carry both the torch and its batteries.

  7. BBC Symphony Orchestra was loading out at the Barbican last night… walked by just as the basses were manhandled into the truck.
  8. I'm hoping that's the case. I can't imagine any judge being overly impressed by the offence of "pretending to act under the authority of a County Court."
  9. Honestly this is just a thing to try and frighten everyone. In the end, it’s for those huge traders that are wilfully evading tax. Most of us don’t need to worry. Just give you NI number and leave it at that. My tax affairs are complicated with two businesses and self employed income.
  10. This is definitely in the "Superbass" bracket. Up there with the best that money can buy. Does my eyes good just to look at it.
  11. Does it come with the bag?
  12. Early days as I have yet to gig it to be able to make a definite comparison. I play a Sterling 34HH (the Z7 was intended as a back up to keep a similar sound) and so far, at home volume levels, the sound from the bridge pick up appears the same. The Z7 pre-amp seems to provide more tonal variety in active mode (I don't know if this is as a result of it being 18v rather than the Sterling's 9v). Unlike some reviews, I've found my neck pick up doesn't have a volume drop. In active mode it can get quite thick and bassy but it doesn't quite match the 34HH's neck pick up. So far I don't think it's a Sterling Killer but then I never rated my ATK as one, either. But I reserve the right to change my mind after I've used in in anger. 🙂
  13. Do you like them? More importantly, are they useful on stage?
  14. As always, I am open to reasonable offers
  15. As always, I am open to reasonable offers I forgot to mention it originally but I have a brand new set of pots, cap and jack that I haven't got around to wiring up for this
  16. First impressions, good to play, B string aside, although the action is too high, but I don't want to change that just yet, because the A&D strings are proud of the nut, and looking on the interweb, rics are supposed to have a weird 45-55-75-105 gauge for those strings, and I suspect this is just a standard 45-65-85-105, so I ordered some new middle strings and see what that is like before I adjust anything. Also the pickup seems quite a way down, but also slightly on an angle, but one of those metal surrounds you get would be nice so I will get one of those.
  17. As always, I am open to reasonable offers
  18. LMB3 sold. Everything else still available
  19. G4M have got back to me and said it's 28.5kg / 63 lbs unfortunately which is going to put it out of my target range. Still that does leave the Behringer as a £240 budget option The dB Tech 612 and Alto TS 12S come in at the £400 to £450 mark And then a jump to RCF 702 AS Mk3 at north of £700 ...and from there onwards an upwards into @Dan Dare territory!
  20. Apparently 8lbs Sterlings exist but when I was researching them the lightest I could find was 9lbs and most of them hovered around the 10lbs mark

Not perfect but I'm pleased with it. Not your average black cab.
  22. A bit more from the Mitchell/Bennet camp, the complete Max Bennett performance of the tune 'Song For Sharon' from the 1976 album, 'Hejira'. One of the greatest albums ever recorded. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/song-for-sharon-joni-mitchell/
  23. I downsized my pedalboard, and so a lot of my equipment can (sadly) go. Pedals: Hologram Effects Microcosm - THE ambient machine (mint condition, with box & PSU) - £450 posted Broughton Audio Omnicomp - fantastic bass compressor (excellent condition, with box) - £185 posted Universal Audio Brigade - really lush chorus & vibrato (mint condition, with box) - £80 posted GFI System Synesthesia - dual channel modulation machine (excellent condition, with box) - £245 posted GFI System Skylar - fantastic stereo reverb (great condition, with box) - £130 posted Boss SL-2 Slicer - crazy choppy but rhythmic tremolo (great condition, no box) - £100 posted KMA Pylon - in my opinion the best noise gate on the market, with tons of additional features) (excellent condition, with box) - £120 posted Night Owl Industries Parabellum Drive - Tube(!)-driven 3-stage parallel germanium distortion. Only 24 ever made, here's your chance to get one (good condition, no box) - £160 posted TC Electronic Ditto - super reliable looper (great condition, no box) - £40 posted (footswitch topper not included) Drolo FX Kiwami - dual resonant bandpass filter. However, this one is sadly damaged after I dropped it. Besides a few cosmetic dings (I can send detailed pictures), the gain knob is bent and not working properly anymore as even when turned fully CCW, the signal is still somewhat distorted. Several (if not all) other functions still work but I'm still selling it as DAMAGED and NOT WORKING, hoping that someone else can fix and enjoy it. Hence the low price of £80 posted Power supply & Midi stuff: Cioks 4 & Strymon PS124 Power block, allowing the CIOKS 4 to function as a standalone pedal power supply - not just as an expander module. Comes with 3 flex cables, 1 flex daisy chain cable, and DC link cable (excellent condition, with box for Cioks4): £110 posted (or Cioks 4 for £95 posted and Strymon PS124 for £25 posted) Harley Benton Powerplant ISO 10AC Pro - these are fantastic, I actually own 6 of them! (with box and all cables (still sealed)) - £70 posted Morningstar ML5 Midi loop switcher - fantastic piece of gear to control your non-midi pedals via midi (great condition, with box) - £150 posted Morningstar ML5 Midi loop switcher - same as above (great condition, with box) - £150 posted Morningstar Midi box - nifty tool to convert 5-pin midi to various TRS midi connections (mint condition, with box) - £65 posted Oscillator Devices Hydra2E - incredibly powerful midi loop switcher with 2 loops, 2 midi-controllable expression outputs, and 4 control switches on TRS outputs. Connect up to two effects devices to the HYDRA2E and bring them in and out of the signal path via MIDI commands. Control expression, tap tempo, channel or reverb switches on amps. This thing can do so much, have a look at its manual (make sure you read the pages about the 2E version): https://oscillatordevices.com/doc/oscillator_devices_hydra_en.pdf (excellent condition, no box): £150 posted Pedalboards: I also have a Rockboard Cinque 5.3 and Rockboard Cinque 5.2, each with a softbag and different mods installed, which I am planning to sell. No pictures yet but shoot me a message if you're interested and I get that sorted. I can try to ship them but would prefer pick up from Durham. However, I also drive to Oxford on Sunday (Oct 12th) and could take them with me if someone wants them and lives on the way or in Oxfordshire.
