  2. Due to house move next week I really need to get this moving. You won't find better value than this!!!
  3. Russ

Maybe they will do some new music. All we know right now is that they're playing some shows next year. Geddy and Alex are both in their 70s now, and, as you have pointed out, have other things going on. I doubt that two septuagenarians would be putting themselves through the rigours of touring again unless it was something they really wanted to do rather than just doing it for the money.
  4. LA Audio high quality active DI box, very solid construction; comes with an instruction leaflet - which is worth reading since the box is deceptively versatile! This works off an 18v rail so can cope with high or low level signals. Power via phantom from your mixer or 2 x 9v batteries Usefully it has a +20db switch to increase the level of low output devices and with 1M ohm input impedance is compatible with piezo pickups The Input will work with Instrument or Speaker levels ('Pad' switch is for speaker level), isolated XLR output for your mixer and a 'link' output to take the signal on to an amp or cab A separate unbalanced output is available as well as the balanced XLR
  5. Bi-Filter Fuzz! Winner!! Si
  6. Many thanks, Hellzero. I had not heard of the Leduc U-Basse. It sounds very interesting. However, I have just ordered the Godin A5 Ultra…it should arrive on Tuesday. If that fails, I’ll look for the Leduc!
  7. Tired of getting stopped at airports when the boss is fully wired up 😂
  8. I think vintage instruments can get better with age to the extent that over time owners might have gotten their faults addressed by a luthier. I've played countless vintage Fenders over the years, some were enjoyable, some less so, but they didn't sound other-worldly compared to a nice new one. The sound just isn't that different. It's more the feel and what that gives you. I don't think there's much milage in their electronics maturing like wine and improving. The pickups do tend to get more microphonic over the years and I suppose that will change the tone a bit.
  9. Depends on the dimensions. If the driver in the photo is a 15, the cab looks to be about 19" wide by 12" deep by 24" high. That gives a cubic capacity of around 3.1 cu. ft, although the volume of the ports (which look a little large for the size Bill suggests above) will reduce that. It probably won't be that far off and certainly better than 4.7 cu. ft.
  10. Very true, drummers in small venues set the level for the band and it’s tough getting them to drum at a lower volume especially if they are rock drummers !
  11. I agree, on both counts. I'm sure that they selected her because her undoubted abilities (demonstrated by having worked with the great Jeff Beck, etc), also knowing that it would help to avoid the direct comparisons with Peart that asking a big name prog drummer would have done. However, it may have a secondary benefit and have a marginally positive impact on the misogynistic climate amongst certain sections of American society.
  12. If only I didn't need a new cabinet first....nice amp.. Best of luck with the sale.
  13. High quality transformer balanced passive DI box from EMO Inputs for Instrument, Line or Loudspeaker and balanced, isolated output to mixer Instrument input has a parallel output to go to your amp Loudspeaker input has a parallel output for the speaker cabinet
  14. Currently building a Bass Filter board to plug into my main pedalboard as an extension (using the Stomp loop). Some great sounds on here, and the chance to bring my original Q-tron back into use. That SZ funk face sounds killer.
  15. I don't think Rush having a female drummer is any kind of a token gesture or social statement. It is, however, a way of circumventing comparisons with Neil Peart. I've been watching Anika Niles a bit on YT. She's obviously a very technical player and will easily be able to play those songs. It's more Geddy and Alex I'm worried about! She's the right kind of drummer for Rush. The wrong kind of drummer would have been a groove-based player, like most famous session drummers.
  16. Sale only at the minute ideally but could pontentially consider trades (via pm obviously)
  17. In the end you either know how to play a low volume gig or you don't. It seems if volume is such a huge issue the "first" thing to ditch would be the acoustic kit. Use a Cajon player or electronic kit, that brings the volume way down. Maybe it's different on your side of the pond but in most live music venues I go to it's the PA system that is always too loud. DJ's as well. In a small venue there is no need to mic anything unless your drummer has a weak foot. When everything is direct you are totally at the mercy of the person running sound and on the average the skills of most sound "techs" is pretty subpar. Our sound tech works for a big sound company in NYC and he will tell you that most techs barely mix. They are level setters.
  18. What I indignant reverse misogyny baloney is that ? I think what you mean is that you don't feel the drummers gender is relevant, and feelings are not facts. You have no more evidence that gender isn't relevant than I have that it is. If your so sure it isn't relevant tell us why. I'm genuinely interested to hear why you feel the need to forbid discussion on the subject.
  19. Awww! Nellie 2.0 ❤️
  20. Would also have to see it on a strap, some basses which look pretty awful on a stand actually look good when being played. That's all that matters really.
  21. sorry for the delay - yes its Bill Nash signature - think he does it on all his instruments. I'm in Rochester in Kent, but in Central London for most shows most days if that's useful. Cheers
  22. A surprising amount of expertly built basses which strive for individuality end up looking jarring and wonky, almost like the person who can craft a seriously high end instrument isn't neccessarily the same person who can come up with a visually appealing design. Off the top of my head Shuker and Iceni can do both but a lot of luthiers would benefit from getting someone else in to design a body shape and cohesive theme.
  23. Bigger casters arn't gonna help me get it up these mothers. My music room/studio is above the garage, it was bad enough trying to get a Laney RB8 combo up there, so bad I had to get my son to move it for me. It's got to be chop it or swap it, I did check with the wife but was told I couldn't keep it in the bedroom 😞
  24. Today
  25. Anyone having luck with their 'Sell your bass' link? Haven't had a reply in over a week.
  26. Been around a while now. Always excellent service.
