  1. Past hour
  2. Ive managed to find a guitar box, so delivery is now an option
  3. You're not going to look like Arnie unless you eat loads of protein, lift massive weights all day. The farmers walk is the two handed version of the suitcase carry. I farmers walk my 2 cabs in, otherwise most of the stuff carried in is either a suitcase carry or 'box carry' - which is essentially a goblet squat and carry.
  4. I now have a bunch of 0.047uF capacitors so I can build a new loom for my mini p-bass. I went for 400v metallised polyester film. As these are a darker colour than the orange drops I have used in outher builds I wonder whether they'll sound any darker?

  5. So I guess the diffrence is if you are buying something for an investment or an instrument to play
  6. I like the geezers, yes, upper mid push, tighter bottom end. They sound quite 70's to me in a good way. I don't think EQ will get you the same thing, but it might get you into the right space. Like @Lozz196 says - worth a try first!
  7. I think a pure FRFR cab can be a little too HiFi, but I think there's consideration built into the LFSys cabs to stop them sounding harsh? Correct me if I'm wrong @stevie...
  8. I'll check that out! I'm also using a DCX and B15 NAM which I really like! The DCX sounds exactly like my DCX. It's good to know that there's Tone3000 available to check out and it's free!
  9. Great purchase at an amazing price!! You will have loads of fun with it. I’m a fan of the ABM 300 evo iv tone I’ve played. It’s heaven for a pbass with flats tone. Warm yet it has so much clarity for fingerstyle playing.
  10. Just to clarify….you are looking for low profile over-the-ear headphones that receive a signal for use in monitoring and provide some attenuation. Not in ears ((iem’s) or over-the-ear noise defenders that cannot receive a signal.
  11. Thank you! I thought I had posted enough…
  12. Cheers! *shameless plug alert*
  13. This EQ is rather insane. I love me a 800hz boost but when I’ve boosted the 660hz mids on my p bass it’s still adds clarity.
  14. Great pedal, working perfectly with original box and manual. Price includes mainland UK postage. Best, Andy
  15. I suppose the difference being is that if you spent 4k on a custom build it'll be worth approximately 2k the day its delivered to you, whereas if you buy a 4k bass on the second hand market (Wal, Fodera etc.) it'll probably be worth 4k if/when you move it on, assuming you haven't paid well over the odds.
  16. So mine is finally arriving today. Stand-by for initial impressions.
  17. I love the warm yet articulate clear sound you get. I have played the newest version ABM evo. It’s just beautiful. My Yamaha pulser pbass with chromes sound amazing at any volume level. Top top amp The only reason why I’m probably going to get a Aguilar tone hammer is the size. It will be for home use for the time being.
  18. these things are in place to weed out the non genuine people. have a look around you will soon mount those posts up. also, welcome
  19. Just had a brief experience with the Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor - I assumed it was faulty and it went back. Basically it was intermittent and when it did see the input signal, no matter how much comp I set it seemed the input was too low for the pedal. Is anyone using these with passive basses, it appeared to me it needs a far bigger input signal to be able to provide decent control. And more than half the time I had zero output no matter what I tried (all leads, basses, 500mA power supply, no chain at all...). I was left puzzled but I think I'll be heading off to an Empress. Shame, I had a Super Symmetry for quite a while and liked it, but could not get the HL to actual work or be properly useful.
  20. What a coincidence. Nice one. Hopefully we'll get some gig pics of each others band from you both. 😂 Dave
  21. I was asked to go to that rally once few yrs back. As a biker rather than a musician of course. I had other plans that weekend and didn't go. Dave
  22. The jabs work, but they do have side effects and they won't give you too many of them. I had one when I was a teenager and about to do my O levels. To be fair, my hay fever used to be much worse in my teens / twenties
  23. I'm guessing it was to hide face wrinkles of course Daryl. (i saw that on "Everybody loves Raymond" show - not experience i have to say. 😂) Dave
  24. I had a john East 4 pot preamp in mine for a while, you can get just about any sound you want from it with very flexible tone controls. It also has a active/passive push pull pot so you get the best of both worlds. not cheap mind.
  25. Nice one Pete - I will see you later
  26. I had one of those prescribed nasal sprays and ended up with severe uncontrollable nose bleeds and now won't use them. Bleeding was a constant stream rather than a drip and lasted up to 45mins at one point. Not a very nice condition. I know you can get a jab for it but not sure how good they are. Dave
