  2. The one in The Gallery is a nice thing. I tried it the other day. Thin neck, nice tone, looks the part. My reservation is that I think it might be a bit pricey for what it is. But I guess the gallery has overheads that we don't. Your shortscale will undoubtedly be nicer to play, and what with these both being quite 'thumpy' semi acoustic basses, I doubt the scale length will make any real diff to the tone. GLWTS!
  3. Greatest speaker to improve any TC Electronic with 8 inches speakers. GLWYS.
  4. Not quite but it does make some weird, wonderful and musical noises!
  5. very good solution 👍
  6. Thanks all and especially Paultheplug for such a detailed explanation. Really appreciated .....
  7. Maybe consider some basic IEM solution? Even if you don't have your own mix, you can typically get AT LEAST a feed from one fo the wedge monitors or the PA speakers themselves. Most are active these days and will have a 'thru' output. You can use a cheap Behringer P1 personal headphone amp, and plug into it whatever mix you can get in one XLR, and your bass on the other. With good sealing earphones (no need to spend hundreds, a KZ with the right tips would be fine) you can get a very reasonable balance. The main thing is that the earphones have a good seal. No need to go wireless, but that would be an improvement if the solution works for you.
  8. Hi everyone, first time poster and upright bass newbie I got myself a Harley Benton DB02. I really love it, but one thing I really miss is it being able to stand like the Ibanez UB804. When messing around with an Ibanez UB804 I liked that feature so much that I thought about getting one just for that alone. I've seen options here to adjust various cymbal stands, camera stands, tattoo artists armrests etc but I was wondering if anyone could give specific advice which product to get and how to adjust it. Because of the DB02's scroll's weight the balance point is somewhere around the screws at the back where the neck attaches to the body. With my height I assume that this point would be at around 120cm from the floor. Since Ibanez uses a Tama Roadpro stand I think the Tama Roadpro Straight Cymbal Stand HC82W might be a good choice, but I don't know how I'd go about attaching it to the Harley Benton. Any suggestions how to adjust that or about alternatives would be appreciated. Ideally, I'd like a system where I can easily remove it again to pack everything up. Thanks in advance
  9. If you do so, make sure you KNOW what was being said and not rely on 'apparentlies'

  11. Bump for this superb preamp!
  12. Bump. Don’t be afraid to make an offer, I won’t be offended.
  13. A blues band could be anything from JJ Cale to Muddy Waters, SRV to Keb Mo, Joe Louis Walker to Bonnie Raitt. Can't you expand your repertoire and tailor your set to the venue?
  14. Ok, time for me to fess up. Upstairs, right now, in my original office/workshop where I do anything, mostly IT and electronics, not DIY or music stuff, except soldering cables and whatnot.... though have done some downstairs in my m̶u̶s̶i̶c̶ ̶r̶o̶o̶m̶ front room which I've taken over to do all my music at home, which is this.... VID20250831125930.mp4 Amazingly my wife has let me get away with this. But she thinks both are messy, however I tidy them up. Maybe not surprisingly our visitors to the front room these days tend to be musicians 😎🎸🥁
  15. I got it at GAK March 2024 as an early birthday present - I sorted it out through one of the staff there Ryan who I had a few email conversations with about it. My local luthier set it up for me with the new strings and the old ones are included. I assume it was made in late 23 or very early 24 as it’s a newer model and relatively recent addition to the Hofner range. I’ve enclosed pictures of the booklet which has the matching serial number to the inside label - you can even see the name of the craftsman handwritten on the label. Hofner really know how to make something special. I’m sure Hofner would be able to find the exact date for you if needed. If you want pictures of the inside label and serial number and are seriously interested please PM me.
  16. Thanks - it will. It'll take about 4 months to work it out, though...
  17. I tried that before but it doesn't look right. Sorted now. And lined up by bags. I've more bags than basses 😆🤔.
  18. IEMs are great for that too - we have a normal guitar amp and a normal drum kit, I have in ears which does both the protection and the monitoring. I hear them (they are in the mix too), but I hear me louder. It is so good to be able to hear the nuances of what you are playing one the bass (although scary when you first start) loud and clearly.

  20. I've come back to the fuzzmo after a fair few years, seriously excellent fuzz that does heaps. Think you might regret selling it mate. Glwts

  23. Oh, they know, I have made it abundantly clear. I have not, but I don't want more gear TBH. Also, I think IEMs are a great idea for a quiet stage, but when you have a tub thumper and a normal guitar amp (not loud by any means) on stage, I think it kind of negates them and I'd rather go for protection over monitoring. I have considered this option in the past, however.
  24. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  25. wow you must live in a posh area. Pretty much all road markings have completely worn away around Bristol.
  26. Maybe lay it on its side? I was wondering what you meant about a wedding and then figured you mean the white rose buttonhole thingy. That was my daughter's wedding just over a year ago.
