  3. im your cod now - machine head
  4. Ray Stevens - Just For The Halibut (from Cannonball Run).
  5. Prawn in the USA - Bruce Springsteen Surely that should be Salmon Dave..?
  6. How long ago? When I got an XE account 10 or more years ago it was DL, Passport and multiple utility bills.
  7. Selling my Ibanez ATK300. This is one of the made in Japan ones and serial number puts it at 1994. Great active bass, currently stringed with labella flats. Brilliant bass, I have a new bass on the way so this one has to go. Quite a lot of marks, chips and dings all over it but. it is over 30 years old. The neck has some dings on the back of it which I have never had issues with. This is in no way pristine which I have reflected (hopefully) in the lower price than ones I could see (MIJ) having sold on here previously. Collection only, as I don't have anything to pack it and post it. £250

  8. Trades? Something might get my attention!
  9. Selling my SVT-CL, glorious sounding amp but I haven't needed to use it much over the past year. All works flawlessly and come with a cover (has a lot of marks on it) This has a few knock marks which I've tried to show in the pictures but nothing that affects performance. it is nearly 20 years old. This is a US Built one and the serial number puts it at Feb 2007 which would make it one of the last ones built in the US before manufacturing moved. Collection only as this is a heavy bit of iron with valves! Collection from Sandy, Bedfordshire. £850

  10. Truly first class work. The bass looks beautiful.
  11. Ling Tall Sally - Little Richard
  12. Where are you based? There are a few cheap ones for auction at Gardiner Houlgate tomorrow. That’s Corsham. If I had one I’d lend it to you y til you got better, but sadly I don’t.
  13. Gneiss in Nice - Stranglers
  14. At a recent jam my TE 300W at 1/4 into an Ashdown 4x10 matched the loudness of the drummer. At a previous one my Markbass 500W into two 1x10 wasn't loud enough.
  15. Perhaps that’s why it’s being discontinued? It’s no longer for “this day and age”. I don’t think it’s normally a problem, having lived for several years in France using British electrical equipment and vice versa, but I have no idea about the warranty thing, tbh.
  16. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Since acquiring four Precisions and eying up another plus also needing a Jazz, it’s become surplus. I have an addiction at the moment. I admit it. There I’ve said it. I also need an original Barefaced Compact 15 and an original Midget 😂😂😂😂 Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  17. I did indeed and it is a great bass 😁 Its price tag does not reflect how well made it is and how good it sounds either. Both my semi acoustics aren’t being used for the simple reason all my work requires Precisions and something with 22 frets.
  18. Digital/online/app-based/mobile/challenger banks, I don’t think anyone has settled on exactly which of these. You do obviously still have to go through an ID process though, although it’s fairly easy, I think I opened the band account with my driving licence and a video statement.

  20. This is one of these basses that I said I would never sell but I'm just not using it. I used Musicman basses for years but in the past 5 or 6 I've seem to have completely switched over to jazz basses. This is quite an unusual combination of HH pickups, matching headstock, plus it seems to have come with a case for a Stingray instead of a Sterling one 🤔 I always loved Stingrays but could never get the sound that I had heard on all of those records. The answer to this was to buy the slightly more aggressive Sterling with ceramic pickups. This is a November 2016 model and I've probably owned it for about the past 6 or 7 years. Recently it developed a fault where it would suddenly go quiet. No crackles or pops or anything, just silence. It pointed to either the jack socket or battery box, more likely the battery box. Despite using the recommended Duracell batteries, I don't think that it was holding the battery tight enough to make the connection. The solution was to go to Strings & Things and order a replacement jack and battery box. During my search for the part number for the jack, I came across numerous reports about how it wasn't ideal and could fail due to the design. I found a wiring diagram that had been issued by Musicman showing how to wire up a standard stereo jack instead of the enclosed type that Musicman use. The short version is that I have replaced the battery box with the correct, EBMM part but I have used a stereo jack instead of the Musicman one ( I will include the musicman one that I bought and is still in it's package if you wish to change it back ) It's in excellent condition, bar some surface buckle rash on the back that I think should be able to polish out as I can't feel it when I run my hands over it. There is a bit of surface tarnishing on the pickup poles that is pretty standard for Musicman basses. Despite the smaller body and narrower neck, the bass comes in at a surprising 10lbs. I've used this on a fair few weddings and functions and hadn't realised that this was how heavy it was as I always use a neoprene strap of some description. I wasn't sure how to price this but given that I don't think the Sterling is made anymore, the matching headstock and HH pickup configuration, I would like £1600 for this. I am, as always, open to offers. I would prefer collection but am happy for you to arrange your own courier.
  21. Getting an honest rating is a real problem over here too. The current trend is a two way exaggeration. Firstly amp powers are routinely calculated (ie not measured) at 6db above their measured rating, so a 500W amp becomes a 2,000W amp In PA active speakers it is even worse. They add the power of the tweeter amp to the amp driving the bass unit despite the fact that they don't both work together at any frequency other than at crossover where the power is reduced 3db. Then they save money by using the same amps over all the ranges but throttle them back so they can't damage the speakers. The poor old horn driver is likely to be 30W handling. The protection circuitry makes ssure there is no chance of it ever seeing more than that whatever you as an operator do. 250W is likely to be plenty through even an average speaker and through your 4x10 will be awesome
  22. Bump - due to osteoarthritis in my fingers I’m just not playing much these days and thus moving on this beauty, the nicest bass I’ve ever owned. price reduced to £1650 to move it on.
  23. Price drop to 450££
  24. Happy to post in with the price
  25. I don't think there is an issue here either but you could ask the venue if their insurance will cover your amp if it is damaged by their tester. We had a venue try to book us for a cancellation, they wanted public liability insurance (what you don't have your own?!) and PAT testing. We do have insurance but no PAT testing. When I said we wouldn't do the gig because we didn't have time and the expense for a one off gig made it uneconomic it suddenly wasn't a problem A lot of social clubs in particular are run by committees who are unrealistic about what a band can provide at the ridiculously low charges we ask.
