  2. Hot Water - Level 42
  3. More than happy with Bo Rhap at #1, although #1 and #2 could easily be reversed. How is Thunderstruck the best that AC/DC has to offer?
  4. Hi all, selling my lightly gigged Shuttlemax 9.2 (900w @ 4ohms / 500w @ 8ohms) bass amp with twin channels, parametric EQ and footswitch. It comes with the factory padded gig bag, rack ears (I've only ever rack mounted the amp), mains cable and Van Damme speaker cable. Also included is the rather lovely GB 410T 4x10 (700w RMS @ 4ohms) cab. The twin channels allow for a huge tonal variation suitable for all types of music. All units are in very good used condition, any trial and collection only please from Salisbury Wiltshire SP1.
  5. It’s my favourite song, and I’m going to insist on it being played in full at my funeral, whenever that may be (hopefully many years from now 😆)
  6. Ive just got a laney 212 (amp cab set up) 4ohm looks and sounds great £500.
  7. I like the fact they use whatsapp for comms these days, if i need anything that's not in stock, i can just say "Yo, when is X back in stock) and saves me having to fish around in emails (hateful things that they are)!
  8. I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. I'm selling a Doom 2 in Jade Metallic finish. It's from the September 2023 release of 100 pedals and has been given the 'high gain' mod by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The mod makes it a little harsher and more abrasive than the standard gain units but it gets synthy and still has the Doom 2 magic. The mod was originally aimed at guitar players so I'm pricing it at £320 £285 on here. Cosmic Metallic pedal sold. Original ad retained for transparency: Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) SOLD and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.
  9. Well after about 6 years amp-less just using a powered speaker and Helix Stomp/couple other DI pedals, i recently moved house, bigger detached no neighbours to worry about so decided to treat myself. After much deliberation decided to go for the Laney as it ticked all the boxes for features I wanted. It came down to The Ashdown studio stack or this. very very impressed, the Amp is not dead the King returns, straight out of the Box all set at 12 sounds amazing on both channels couple tweaks and got the sound i want. I was worried 500w would be too loud but getting great sounds at lower volumes with plenty to crank if i ever need it. Real amps are just so responsive (or at least this is) I had to pinch myself my playing (even after 3 weeks off on holidays) was just so Dynamic. Sounds and plays just like you think an amp should. Real amps vs Modellers could be a separate threat.
  10. Placed an order Friday am and it’s already been shipped, excellent service
  11. The BtW guys rave about the four and the five. Six review coming shortly. 'Best bass Ibanez has ever made' is quite the statement given they've probably made more models (and maybe actual basses) then anyone else!
  12. Im in the same boat. Because i have the ‘master’ iPad sitting on my keyboard i get asked to do all the IEM tweaks etc, even though they have all downloaded Mixing staton etc. Its a pain as i will have my IEM’s in so cant really judge (or hear) what others want. I do get it though, its easier for mew as i have an always on connected device, but it still hasnt sunk in that they really need to be doing this at soundchecks first.
  13. You beat me to it.
  14. They speak on weight here. I tried a sr600 ash body last week at wunjos and the neck blew me away. One of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played. Chords felt so smooth to do.
  15. "Normal Aux sends and just passive outputs that you can’t expect to plug headphones in to and hear anything." That's where I'm getting confused: there's nothing stopping anyone plugging their wired/passive IEMs directly into the monitor outs on the A&H CQ desk. Its built in preamps provide plenty of headroom, and I'm assuming the A&H CQ desk is not unusual in having preamps?
  16. A review of this amp can be seen here, and Vox's product page is worth a look. As the reviewer mentions, this amp is both small and light (< 5kg) and also loud; I've used it for several jams and also a gig (all with a drummer and various saxes etc.) and it has been fine. I never much liked the tone (a bit too rock) or used the effects, so I've replaced it with the recently-discontinued jazz version whilst I still can. I've not included postage in the price as I don't know how much it will be, but in the event of anyone being interested we can discuss options. The box is still present and I'll put in the unused new power supply from the replacement amp (it's identical). There are a couple of small marks on the bottom of the grill surround (pictured) but otherwise it's in good condition and all working.
  17. I think sabbath was bound to do well considering the past few months. Expected and abit disappointed to see bohemian rhapsody at number 1
  18. This made laugh. I wonder if some other BCer with a trade is laughing too, as in, “Mwah, ha, ha, ha!” Please be heavy, please be heavy 🙏.
  19. I was talking about the headphone outs, not channels or inputs. Headphone outputs have amps built in to them, otherwise you won’t hear much. Normal Aux sends and just passive outputs that you can’t expect to plug headphones in to and hear anything. In fact i didnt say preamp, i said amp. My reply was to the comment about using a zoom LT 12 (IIR you had one?). That has 6 headphone outs so there is no need for any extra amps if you don’t want to use them, so you can plug headphones or IEM’s directly in to it. Hopefully that clears things up
  20. Thanks, that's great. I do sound (if that's not obvious) and after about 2 years 'the lads' have finally realised I can tweak their individual mixes - even though I've said this at almost every gig 😂. This is leading to requests to tweak between almost every song so the 'main attraction' is the fact I can install the app on their phones and let them get on with it! I've been in a band with an xr18 in the past and loved it, but was always worried that you couldn't tweak things on the desk. The CQ18 seems to address this and gives 'the best of both worlds'.
  21. So it appears that what Planet Rock listeners really like is a ballad. Both very similar in construction, but one with a daft novelty section. Only separated by 2 votes allegedly. In terms of most tracks, I think Sabbath may have taken the crown there and Zep may have even pipped Queen to the punch in that respect too. I await @rwillett’s statistical analysis with bated breath, for confirmation.
  22. I have an empty carpeted 2u rack case that this would fill nicely, but I also have an Eden WT-1205 so can't imagine I'd ever use this despite a love for proper USA Eden gear! Though... if you do happen to pass Wickford in Essex, then I might not be able to pass it up!
  23. I had an EBS Neo 2x12 for many years which would fit the bill. Available used for about £450. Brilliant cab.
  24. Great pickup, I had it wired passively into a p bass bridge position. Includes uk mainland postage.
