One of the things we seem to have lost sight of is that for nearly everyone on here, the people who watch the more than 10 seconds of any of the videos being discussed in this thread are not our audience and are unlikely to ever be our audience, so lets stop worrying about them and maybe put some of that outrage energy into producing some great new music and performing it in a way that will get people excited about both the music and the performance.

In principal, I agree with you totally, WoT. If I had been the 'jaGuar' CEO, I'd have canned this rebranding before it ever saw the light of day, but the truth is that they needed to do something, because the past twenty years of trying to beat the Germans at their own game had clearly not yielded good results. Anyway, we're getting off-topic here. It was just an example of a brilliant way of getting people talking. Engineered outrage, again.

Boss WL-50 £100 posted
Paul S posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Boss WL-50. Performed for every gig and rehearsal without a glitch for 5 or more years until I switched to the Legato bugs. No box but here's the Boss page: https://www.boss.info/global/products/wl-50/ These are just shy of £200 new, I'm asking £100 posted to UK mainland. Alternatively try before you buy in Benfleet, Essex.-

Oh, and a little catchup on odds and sods I had been pottering around at but forgot to mention... The top horn strap button was in at a funny angle (at least for the strap buttons I intend to use, and it annoyed me, so I filled and redrilled it (only got a pic of the filled hole - plus waiting for the felt washers to arrive). Also did that final fettling of the MM pickup route and now I'm a lot happier with the string to pole piece alignment. Seen worse on an actual MM, ooh, neep, you shady biatch

I've always used whatever could fit in the holes, usually a screwdriver, or an allen key (the long bit). -
Agreed. Anger is a weird emotion. I like Charles Berthoud as well. He seems the kid of guy who would be just as happy smashing the root note for half an hour than playing the most complex lines you've ever heard. But, could he do it down the Three Tuns on a wet Tuesday evening? Probably. What's interesting is the nature of musical fame and what constitutes a musical career is changing. People like Charles and the other YouTubers now present a realistic career path for other content creators. It's weird, yes, but it's no less valid than playing in a cover band or whatever else you can do with four strings and a whole lot of heart. The avenues for playing live are becoming fewer and fewer and this is how these people now live and make money. Good luck to them I say.

If AI video generation keeps advancing at the current rate in a year or so the scandal won't be that influencers are decieving their followers, it'll be that they never existed in the first place. -
Hello, I'm selling this MXR Bass Compressor. It's in almost new condition, with the original box. I'm sure everyone knows what to expect with these now - a nice and natural sounding comp, that's easy to use, with great visual metering too. I'm asking £115, which includes next day delivery. Any questions, shoot me a message. Thanks.

Absolutely correct. Social media was originally created to supposedly 'bring us all together'. The truth is that when you give everybody a voice, it creates separation and division. Outrage will give you more views than simple, peaceful joy. I'm all for people like Charles Berthoud expanding what the instrument can do, and it was touching to see Victor Wooten naming him as the 'Heir Apparent', commenting that he was the player that took things further than he ever could. Hopefully that inspires a new generation to be even better. But yes, I don't get many opportunities to showboat. My money is mainly earned by being a bass player, supporting the music, holding everything together and making the people at the front of the stage sound great.

If you want fuzz this will give it to you in spades. A few marks and some velcro on the back but otherwise it's in good condition. I'm having a clearout at the moment as I haven't been in a band for a few years now, otherwise I'd be keeping it. I'm afraid I can't find the box but it will be packed well when posted.

Price drop - £135 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only.
