  4. Yeah. "They were really good when they played last time. Let's go again." Unfortunately, it's not how, or what you play, it's entirely down to how you make people feel. As a musician it sucks, as an entertainer, it's what makes a good band.
  5. You know dhl have a maximum size limit of 120cm. So unless your parcel was under this size, it may be being held as its incurred additional costs.
  6. Yep I’ve heard good things about that pedal
  7. Basically where you can cycle through a list of presets, say step 1 chooses preset 7, step 2 chooses preset 12, step 3 chooses preset 7 again.

  9. Absolutely not. V3 has no remaining codespace and all development ended at 3.61 when we began work on v4.
  10. The alternative is getting a camera case or an actual rack, which, to me, seems kinda pointless if you’re reducing the bulk by ditching the wooden sleeve! Surprised about the weight - it only has one more metal panel than the normal version (on the top) and that has to weigh less than the sleeve. Has to be a mistake.
  11. You may have seen this bass for sale on here last week. It's now missing! Was sold on e bay last week and picked up,scanned by DHL and taken to Edinburgh depot. Two guys came and picked it up,left in plain white van. Self employed couriers working for DHL?. Anyway it never arrived with the buyer on Friday and was sent using the E bay simple delivery system. You may know that e bay have revised their selling platform.....the less said about that the better! In saying that it has worked out ok now that time has passed and the guitar has been deemed missing. I won't say what I think has happened to the guitar but just a heads up for e bay sellers. Yes we both have our money but it was a bit stressful. E bay delt with it and there was no issues....So in the word of the old boy off the telly from years ago...If you have been offered a cut price Squier Classic Vibe P bass 2008 in Sonic Blue Serial number CGRK 08001666. And seeing the numbers at the end of that means there is a curse on anyone buying or playing it! May your fingers fall off one by one! Over and out!
  12. I gig with a band who plays Hi Ho Silver Lining, All Or Nothing, Hi Heel Sneakers and others because of the reaction. The crowd goes crazy!! The landlord loves them, other landlords see that and give the band gigs, and so it goes. We also play "better" less popular songs but the guaranteed floor fillers are always in there. If you're in a cover band maximum audience reaction should be the goal.
  13. Nice basses. I've owned both. Will be lucky to get those prices.... despite the hard sell in the descriptions 😂
  14. I've recently got the building bug and so far I've done my Pingray, a strat and I have the parts for a Gibson scale telecaster in the house but I need the weather to get warmer again before I can paint outside. But now I'm thinking of doing a short scale 50s P bass as a sort of Dusty Hill tribute. Ideally I'd like to find a slightly downsized body to keep the proportions right, but I'll think about getting a body blank if I have to - slab bodies are probably the best option for a first time body making attempt. A blank that has the neck pocket already done would be perfect. If I can get suitable parts over the next few months then I'd have 2 things to paint in the spring. I'd do it in that old butterscotch type colour he had for a long time, then do the hairdryer + air can cooling approach to get the finish cracking a little. I wish I had a workshop - at the moment I have to do everything other than soldering in the garden. I also really need to spend some money on power tools. Other than an off-brand Dremel and a drill I'm doing everything by hand.
  15. Mistletoe And Wine - Cliff Richard
  16. I can only speak from my experience of cover bands. Most of the bands I've seen play have a very similar set list; if not the same songs then the same kinds of songs. It's an understandable vicious circle in that the audience reacts to certain songs so the band plays those songs. However I used to play in a band where the BL said 'we play Sweet Caroline because everyone wants it'. No one ever asked for it at any gig I played with them and yet we often played it and, of course, the audience reacted. This confirmed the BL's thinking in his own mind but if we hadn't played it then the audience wouldn't have missed it. The few bands that play different set lists are the ones that stand out for me and, I suspect, a lot of people who go to see a band (rather than go to a pub with live music).
  17. Washin' And Wonderin' - Stroke 9

  19. Tech21 VT Bass DI
  20. I've played hundreds of gigs at The Grey Horse. It used to be run by guys who were only interested in selling beer and didn't care about the music. Some bands could pack the place to illegal levels and others couldn't get half a dozen in. I've done both! The pub did no promotion at all. It was then taken over by a landlord/musician and things improved a lot. Our weekly jam nights were usually packed and Sunday lunch sessions in the front bar were always full.
  21. I think that is covered 4 posts up!
  22. An interesting comparison vid for Fender reissues vs vintage: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BpWRmNVe7/?mibextid=wwXIfr I’m interested to know which of them BCers think sounds best to them. For me it’s the vintage bitsa. Same top end but thicker/ creamier lows
