  1. Past hour
  2. Been going through this by Burning Spear today, I’ve got all the notes but keep drifting ahead of the beat and need to slow it down
  3. Could i be curious and ask what you ordered
  4. Good call, but I'd suggest trying the Sadowsky preamp pedal. I have one and it's the more flexible option.

Yes, she was always so positive and upbeat. And their double-act was a proper laugh. Oh god, poor Pete. I can't begin to imagine how he must be feeling.
  6. Hi all, Here we have my Fernandes Gravity 5x. Bought last year as a back up to my Warwick, but now being sold as I'm trying to move away from 5s and am looking for a different sound. There's not a lot of info out there about these, as they seem to be quite uncommon. It dates from 2008 and is made in China. Twin single coil pickups with vol, vol, tone. Simple as it gets. Tonally it's got a quite aggressive sound, the twin Jazz pickups are really high output, with a really punchy sound. You'll note the front pickup is moved towards the bridge compared to the usual J/J set ups, definitely gives it a funkier, mid-rangey sound. The tone pot is effective all the way round, giving a wide sweep of different tones (and a really funky rear pickup sound). B-string was the biggest surprise for me on this bass. It's very taught and defined, better than many other basses I've had at 4/5x the price. It's in 9/10 condition. It recently had a brand new input jack installed and plays very cleanly across all frets. A nice first foray into a 5 string for someone, or a great reliable, good sounding backup. Weight is a lovely 3.9 kg. Collection from Moreton in Marsh, which is located on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire/Warwickshire border. Will happily meet up within an hour's drive for handover, or a bit further for a small petrol contribution (purely due to the low cost of the bass). Thanks for looking!
  7. Thanks - I was mainly interested in the process and how the order comes out. Let me know what you think when it arrives
  8. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  9. Anyone here play Eton Rifles regularly? I play quite a few fairly challenging songs with my band but for some reason I am struggling with the bass run in the verse from the D to the high E on the G string, sometimes I play it really cleanly and other times it's a bit sloppy, it's a bit hit and miss as to if I play that part cleanly with no slop or fret noise, any tips?

And it's me and my limited abilities not the setup of my bass

  10. with case. Great quality 6 string bass with very friendly neck for those transitioning from 4 or 5 string basses. Sounds excellent too - tuned low B - high C. In excellent condition all round and comes with tags / manual / etc. Located in Exmouth, Devon - viewing / test welcome. I have a box / packaging from a recent 'Bass Bros' purchase so could also post at cost if needed. May consider trade for Japanese or US Precision or a good quality fretless. 11. Excellent device, but I don't need two of them. Does exactly what you'd expect. Run out of thing to say.
  12. No longer in use and taking up too much space, this now needs to go hence the very low price. It's a Gator case. What else am I supposed to show you? It has handles. And wheels. Don't forget the wheels. Not only does it have a front, but it has a back too. And you can put racky-type things in it. I suppose it could be posted (at the buyer's risk) by taping it closed at both ends and sticking a label on it - I've done it before, successfully - but realistically this makes more sense as a collection jobbie, or maybe meet for a pint.

  14. "Custom Shop" multi-scale bass. Scale is 37" to 34" - There's a whole thread about this bass HERE with more photos and stuff! This beast was ordered (after a few Christmas drinks..) from a builder on Ali Express around a year ago to give the multi-scale thing a go without investing in a real Dingwall! A custom headstock logo was part of the spec sheet so I went with 'Tesco Value' as this seemed to match my expectation at the time. It arrived after a month or so and is, actually a really playable bass. The build quality is decent and the passive and active electronics work well with no nasty buzzes or hisses and give a wide range of tones. Setup is pretty good and it plays well. Naturally it's not up to the standard of a 'real' one but a great way to give the multi-scale thing a go and see if it works for you - I liked it so much I got a real one! It very much is what it is... suits people with a sense of humour! I've enjoyed owning it and it's always been a bit of a talking point when I've taken it out! Up for sale now for around half the 'landed' cost. You're welcome to try before you buy in Exmouth (Devon). Trade considered against a bass head (I'm looking for something as a backup to my main rig so not too fussy as long as it works!) Any questions, drop me a line!

  15. Very decent piece of rack gear, equally suitable for studio or live use (I've used it both ways). The two multi-way cable clips on top are there by self-adhesive stuff and will remove. I found them useful enough to choose to leave them there for the new owner. The original box is present, as seen in the photos, but not the polystyrene inserts. I'll use bubble wrap for postage. 16. Sadowsky pre would fit the description....only drawback would you would need to fit a side jack. 🤷‍♂️ Bass Direct Pre
  17. I only ever saw her once, in 1995 at Glasgow Garage - I think her first UK gig. She was very good, but a bloody awful harmonica player. I went with a guitarist mate I was writing & putting a band together with. We were quite blown away by her drummer & talked about hanging around at the stage door & kidnapping him when he came out. Wish we had - it was some dude called Taylor Hawkins.
  18. Very little used since Covid, time to move it on. Comes with all the little bits of cabling etc. Condition is as near pristine as you're likely to find. Full specs are here: https://philjonesbass.net/cms/product-ha-1/
