Immaculate German Sadowsky 5 MJ Limited Edition bass for sale. I got this on a trade swap on here for my Roscoe, and added £200 on top, so owes me £2100. This bass is absolutely stunning, but I’m finding that I’m still just using my Will Lee 5 for everything. It’s as new, with just a minute mark on the back of the neck, as shown in the photos- I knew it was there, but had to try and find it, it’s that small. I’ve gigged it once, but I doubt if it’s had many gigs at all, before I got it. Comes with the Sadowsky gig bag, and all of the stuff inside. Weight on my scales is 7lbs 4 ounces- and feels super lightweight on a strap. There’s a few YouTube videos of this model, but this is the Limited Edition run- I think they do one every year. I’m not prepared to ship this, so a meet up will be good. Trade wise - PJ5 or P5. (US Lakeland, Vincent Akkurat, Jap Sadowsky, Nash etc). Either of these with monies either way. Or maybe a Sadowsky metroline M5. Thanks for looking. If you want anymore pictures, then just message. Paul

I ended up getting a cool strap and some flatwounds after checking my giftcardmall balance from something I got last year. Wasn’t sure what I wanted at first, but having that balance gave me an excuse to grab stuff I wouldn’t normally buy myself. Sometimes the fun is just picking out the gear anyway. -
Anyone got any experience selling a neck?

That's great advice! I'm very new still so didn't know if it would just get buried and never looked at ever again. So hard for me to know if I was doing something wrong or not :') Very happy to be patient and maybe think about adding some tuners. Thanks for sharing your experience -

Was the Rickenbacker neck pickup positioned at the magical 24th fret position? It woud be on the neck

I'd like to test a few side by side in a shop and I'm in Central London once a week but can only think of the Yamaha shop and the Roland shop, are there any central ones that have multiple brands and testing rooms? I suppose a day trip to Andertons might be in order (I'll get sidetracked by the Bass guitars though!).

Hi mate, I've sold loads! A neck will sell quicker if it has tuners as it can be a real PITA for the buyer to find which particular set(s) which fits which particular Fender/Squier model (and as I found recently they can often be out of stock in the UK also). Also money is tight, while you list the full Fender RRP, similar roasted maple MIM necks can be bought new from Amazon for not a whole lot more than you're asking. I'm not saying your neck's not worth it by any means, just that you might need to lower the price a bit if you want it to sell quickly (and re selling it quickly, you did only list it two weeks ago, this is a slow time of year, folks saving their cash for the Xmas onslaught). Also, unless you defo need cash, you'll often do better looking for trades/PX here 👍 -

I was issued a Jazz version of this brand when I joined the RM Band Service. It was hot garbage, even for 1996.

I'd have given him £40 for it!

Have been unable to shift the Vintera P Bass Neck I had listed on here so I was wondering if anyone had any advice for selling a neck? Either on the forum or elsewhere? Want this to go to a home and to also recoup a bit of the cost of replacing the neck. I don't use social media so haven't looked on FB. Is gumtree a viable option? Any help or insight anyone has is really appreciated. Apologies if this isn't the right place to post.
-
Thanks for your help. A couple of small holes on the head will go with the dings on the body. Its got a good bit of mojo already!
-
I think you'll have some trouble finding a like for like replacement - they haven't used that style of tuner for a long time now. If you're lucky you'll find someone in the same position as you having already done a complete tuner change and have some spares they're willing to sell. But as usual with these kind of things it'll be a case of "right place, right time". As for replacements, depends how picky you want to be regarding the cosmetic results. I think you will be fortunate to find anything with the same screw pattern - later BBs (such as the BB414) used a simpler mechanical design (no adjustable tension collet thing) but look like they might have a similar footprint/screw pattern, but the buttons are a more traditional elephant ear versus the heart shape.
-
Yup. Completely snapped. A like for like would be great if I can find one but im open to a new set of Hipshot/Gotoh/Challenge etc. If needed. Ive been tempted to add a Hipshot d-tuner so maybe that and 3 new matching ultralight. Bass has had a life and is far from pristine but it's been my most played for over 30 years.
-
Classic late 70s, early 80s Yamaha tuners. I have these on my BB1200 and SB500S. Overengineered to the nth degree. I take it the button has completely sheared off?

I think that it's a question of how long the neck is left on the BBQ / in the pizza oven - whatever the heat source is. My understanding is that the full roasting process is necessary to achieve the stability benefits and that, by that stage, you're very close to ending up with a lump of charcoal apparently. Obviouslt the neck has then to be sealed in a way that stops any moisture getting back in. Can't remember where I actually read the above but I think it was in the course of researching Wilcock basses. I now have one btw but it looks like the neck has been cooked by somebody who eats his steak raw. -
