  2. Yeh, listened to the demos, I can see it would work for some singers with no backing vocals, but for me that wouldn't work at all. I am a backing singer and as such I don't do a 3rd or 5th etc of what the singer is doing, I do a contrasting line so for instance I can be going up when he is going down, or just on one note etc, so if I had a harmoniser on that it would enforce the backing over the primary vocals and not work well. I can see as one of those singer song writer acoustic acts or country or a solo singer in a group it would be good. Like all of these things, it really is group dependant I would add, the up down in the H1 demo is exactly what the voice live does in the harmony mode, I have one, i just don't use it for the above reasons.
  3. I was just thinking (dangerous unknown territory). If you want to try the teacher I use I'll send you on his details. I have no connections other than as a student. He's from the UK but is based in Northern Italy hence everything is done online, so as long as you're okay with that it might work out. His primary interest is jazz, and has a degree in it, but he can play anything, generally the first time he hears it 😲.
  4. Said hello for you. Dropped it off yesterday, just picked it up and it's playing beautifully. 25 hour turnaround!

  6. Bought/traded Nige's GK head.... lovely bit of gear and Nige was a pleasure to deal with. Cheers chap! 👍
  7. Hi all, looking for recommendations please! I'm after someone in or near Bristol to do a setup on a Mexican 70s RI jazz including filing down nut slots (on a bound neck so can't just easily take the nut out to file the back) and potentially a bit of fret dressing if deemed worthwhile in pursuit of low action (7.25" radius I think). Also, any tips on going rate for this sort of work appreciated. Obviously I'd prefer it not to cost hundreds given that it's only a MIM but main priority is a competent job! Thank you in advance
  8. Sorry mate! Nothing wrong with your Spectors 😉👍
  9. Simply Dan, fantastic Steely Dan tribute at Wokingham Music Club last night. Sold out show and a stunning performance.... will be seeing them again in a month or so at the Hampton Hub Club!
  10. So Rickenbacker announced in early January that their production run of 4005V basses is now complete, so they are no longer taking dealer orders for Fireglo, Jetglo and Mapleglo models. However, over that 2-year run from 2024 through 2025 they made 8 one-off unicorns which are all featured in this video: 4005 basses are still being built, but are only available as one-off, Factory Special models like the basses featured in the video. They've already built 4 such unicorns in 2026, so things look promising for some very interesting models to appear throughout the year. 😃
  11. A psychedelic rock cover of a The Temptations hit, released on a Motown sub-label Rare Earth - (I Know) I'm Losing You | John Persh
  12. Harmoniser pedals are a great example of Less Is More. I'm not a big fan of either the Critical Mass (owned one & used it live) or the TC Helicon VoiceLive (watched a lot of videos), but the H1 pedal is absolutely my sweet spot. I do 70 gigs a year using that pedal frequently during 3-hour gigs. It sounds great every time and draws a lot of positive comments.
  13. Any recommendations for a gigbag to fit a hollowbody bass? This is for a Fender Starcaster bass which is a similar size to my Guild Starfire. Thomann have a couple of rockbags that look like they should work, but are there any others?
  14. Today
  15. I love the creaminess of the scratchplate. I have a Matsumoku one in fireglo with a white plate, which is slightly translucent, as they are, but I much prefer the look of your one. 😎
  16. That’s today I’d like the 2x Dadario set Will pm you
  17. Cobra mic stand bag for two mic stands. Two pouches for mics, leads, weapons etc Handle and shoulder strap Very well used - it's tatty and the zip only works one way... it's marginally better than no mic stand bag Yours for the cost of postage - if it's less than £7, I'll refund the difference My lovely fluffy blanket is not included
  18. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/250604443161025--morley-tye-trujillo-trudrive-wah I bought this on Monday in their sale (was£200)it's had about 2hrs use, absolutely no use for wah in my band ,I was just curious. But like a fool i stuck tape on the bottom and it's taken the label off the bottom so I can't return (needs to be in same condition received). It sounds wonderful, the main point for me was it's switch less, just press the pedal and it comes on. The drive sounds great, very similar to the EQD plumes. It's nice and small compared to normal wah pedals. Whilst taking the photos I've noticed a tiny plate screw missing 🤷 must have came like that? still nice n secure. Save yourself £38(with postage)from their sale price- £122 posted Always happy to hear trades
  19. Add their Encounter to that list too.
  20. Great straps these - super comfy, padded, sturdy AF and free from any animal products. It looks pretty much brand new. £45 posted, £40 collected from Bewdley DY12 It would go very well with the Straplocks I'm also selling.
  21. I'm always aware that a bass might be in excellent condition because it was considered below average when played. For me, a decent amount of play wear indicates a single, or a number of players have preferred to use it over the years. Also, another benefit of a roadworn instrument is that new dings are stress free.
  22. Happy belated birthday. I tried their phaser but really didn’t like it. I had high hopes for it, especially with the envelope mode, but I very quickly established it wasn’t for me. It was a very noisy circuit. I much preferred the Barbanera Black Pearl and the Behringer BM-13.
  23. Robert, it all depends on what you're after and this is something that must be discussed with your teacher. If he doesn't agree with your point of view about music and piano playing, as long as it's not based on idleness only, find another teacher/tutor. Grades are there to assess the level of playing what is written, exactly the way it is written, not a way to assess your ability to interpret a piece with emotion. A very good example is the piece I'm learning right now (still Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence by Ryūichi Sakamoto), which has been performed by the composer himself who wrote the final score himself, before dying. And this is a great opportunity, because, very often, you play pieces from dead people who never recorded them themselves. So if you listen to the different versions he played himself, you'll notice that his last interpretation was fully loaded with emotion, not always sticking to the written score when it comes to timing, but linked to his feelings, making it beautiful and human, with mistakes. Listen to Lang Lang version and you'll hear a typical classical version strictly sticking to the score, and ending up in a boring version, lacking the Japanese ethnical music heritage mixed with the Debussy homage and, something that classical player can hardly do, a swing feeling. So decide wether you want some diplomas on your wall or being able to read and play a score your way with the most important parts in music: interpretation linked to emotion. That said, hélas, technique is the only way to reach that goal. Mixed feelings, I know.
  24. 3M Tourtech jack lead - Right angle to straight jacks. It's broken... please save it fom landfill. I'll even pay postage! Comes with fetching blue velcro cable tie which is also free.
