  2. This is my Ibanez SR2600 Cerulean Blue Burst, which I became interested in after seeing Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention using the 5 string version. They are beautifully made and well finished with massive tonal options and what a colour finish........... To protect such an instrument I opted for the Warwick all leather soft case.

  5. There are no daft questions, when it comes to researching basses. Basschat is always willing to help other members spend their money, it stops us spending ours .
  6. Welcome sir. In the Border country perchance?
  7. Noise Annoys! - Buzzcocks
  8. Was that the outboard preamp Chris? Buying an outboard Sadowsky preamp would makes good sense for a lot of reasons. That bit of kit makes most basses sound better, cheap and not so cheap, so it may well stay useful if someone upgrades to a more expensive instrument. Even if the Sadowsky preamp doesn't make your cheaper bass sound good enough to satisfy, you can keep it for the next bass. Sooner or later it will be useful and money well-spent.
  9. Exploring the world of bass playing, in the distant past played drums and a little rhythm guitar. Currently researching different basses and will check out information on this site. Be prepared for some daft questions. Thanks for having me. Reiver
  10. It's Oh So Quiet - Björk & Betty Hutton
  11. That was a great moment Thanks again for a brilliant show
  12. I'm sure Viv Wilcock would love these.
  13. Wow these are amazing photos! Great work! The photo of Neil checking his watch to see how many more songs we could play before getting kicked out for the disco made me laugh!
  14. My wife says she's not lending me these again though! So I would have to invest in a proper acrilic heater!
  15. I agree Chris, but I do get great protection from the foamies, it's just that the top end gets cut much more than on fancy plugs so I am sacrificing on my experience of the quality of the sound rather than protection for my ears. Foamies will cut up to 38db which is more than any of the fancy ones could last time I checked.
  16. I know what wood sounds like when I bang my head on a door frame. I wouldn't call it musical.
  17. My Lockdown Project......... Although I love the white finish, I have been thinking of painting it "a la Guy Berryman" style just for a change!
  18. Hi Bill, excuse my ignorance but could you elaborate on what you mean by "rising mid range" for me please?
  19. Sly and the Family Atone Fatsack Band Trouble Fu*k Punkadelic
  20. Not possible to say. It will vary from instrument to instrument (even the same make/model). No two are exactly alike. You'll just have to experiment to see what works for your instrument and gear. I would say there is unlikely to be a specific frequency, but a spread of them. The way they interact is important.
  21. She's extremely good, but there are plenty of red hot young players around.
  22. My favourite compressor. So simple to use and get great results that even a luddite like me can use it. Price includes UK shipping.
  23. Today
  24. Bought a MIJ Fender Precision scratchplate from Seb this week. Great comms and fast delivery..... Top man.
  25. This is my favourite bass drive pedal, but I just got an Anagram so needs to go. It's a Rat based pedal, designed to emulated Justin Chancellor's tone. Comes with original box, price includes UK shipping.
