If I could get it without his signature on the headstock that would definitely be in the running - it has everything: block inlays, bound fingerboard, lollipop tuners, string through bridge.....but it also has Adam Clayton's signature on it (and presumably a slice of commission directly to him in the price) - for that reason it rules itself out. Shame
  5. I've used a Mark bass amp for a little while, but played through a TH500 for over 10 years. I also use an AG700 and TH700. IMO Aguilar amps and Barefaced cabs are made for each other.

  7. I ran an Ampeg SVT3 PRO for many years. I'd suggest a Mark Bass or Aguilar TH500 as a replacement.

  12. That looks like nice stuff. I used mineral oil (stuff they use to help seal chopping boards, not the brake fluid!) and beeswax on a table with a rather uninspiring grain and colour and it does a great job of accentuating what is there without changing anything too much, so that may also be an option when the time comes, although it does need quite regular retouching.

  14. Expensive is so relative. The two basses I paid over my 'expensive' threshold, were both made possible because I completed large chunks of work. I've been through long periods where spending £50-100 could mean many months of saving. I am having to be careful now, as I need as many savings as possible to buy somewhere when dad's house is sold and split three ways. So those two big purchases (and my rig) were really special; both were cheaper alternatives to genuine vintage instruments I could never afford but give me a feeling of connection to music I love.
  15. Ah, I was dreading that kind of answer, but at the same time it was exactly why I asked the question so thanks for the warning. I can see from the area under the neck screw plate that the finish is very gloppy. I don't have a power sander or a well-ventilated space to work in (small flat, basic toolbox - good name for an experimental album 😁). Looks like I might need to just live with it being an ugly duck until we get going on a building project we have in mind for the next year or two and then I should have access to both. I have been warned about the surrounds and the whole pup fixing / height adjustment sensitivity so I will be very careful with that when the time comes.

  19. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125.   21. I've owned this Jaguar for about ten years and feel like I'm due for something new. It plays and sound brilliantly, looks fantastic. It has a few wear and tear marks on the body and headstock (see pics) but nothing major. Comes with Fender gig bag. Not looking for trades but a straightforward sale. I'm in London but can post to anywhere suitable. Let me know if you have any queries!

  22. I'd buy the Adam Clayton signature jazz, if I wanted a jazz I did have a Flea jazz and it sounded awesome
