  2. The bass on the right has a far worse offense going on: laminations in the center of the body to imply a neck-through-body construction, when in reality there is a bolt-on neck - and it's not even laminated the same as the body core! Can't stand it.
  3. Hi, anybody heard about an old "by shadow k & m holstein's 101 pickup
  4. Who judges whether they are well made and high quality?
  5. Best bass filter on the market IMHO, good price too! Si
  6. Sadly a judge will have to go by the guidelines and it is likely that all of his past, spent convictions won't be taken into account because of the timeline. TBH that is probably why he is being taken to court for such a small time frame; were they to actually act upon some of his actions documented on here, then he'd be in the realms of committing crimes whilst still serving his 2 year suspended! His solicitor has likely come to an agreement that they'll not contest the action if he is only tried for a small number of cases in a recent time frame!
  7. I`ve never tried a stack of 210s vertically, would like to so that I can hear the difference - maybe at the SE Bash we can try this if anyone brings along a pair.
  8. Agree, classic looks there

  11. Noll with volume (push/pull for active/passive), balance, tone, bass, mid, treble yes it comes with new gig bag
  12. You're only just into double figures.
  13. I'm still using my Lekato bugs at every gig, and I bought a second set so that I can use them for both DB and electric bass. I haven't measured input impedance and, in truth, I suspect it makes very little difference. If I was recording an album using a bass borrowed from Paul Chambers then maybe. Playing an aluminium DB to a full dancefloor at a rock'n'roll Club it simply isn't an issue.
  14. With that neck in 1995, a one off / custom order makes sense, especially with it being a broadneck 5 string.
  15. EMG's don't have an earth wire.
  16. I ran it through spectrum analyser! Fundamental notes were identical, but some harmonics peaks were missing with Joyo compared to cable. Plus it just sounded a bit ... emptier in the high-mids. But like I say, could've been how I was playing it. I also played some single notes and the spectrums were pretty much identical, to be fair.
  17. Maths is maths and improved horizonal dispersion is the effect of having a vertical array of single cones. You also get less beaming - you know when you walk in front of a cab and it gets louder and quieter in places - that's because sideways stacked cones are cancelling each other out. I'd go vertical for that reason as well as it being closer to your ears. Obviously if the PA is doing all the work then it doesn't matter as long as you can hear yourself.
  18. I try to nail the bass part in the very beginning. Then we (drs, b) can give the base to the others, as we are 11 in my main band. From that point of view it looks like I have not very much space, but actually more time to fix the tinier details (tempo and agogic changes, accents, colouring notes...). There's quite a lot of arranging within the band, and it is easier if the drummer and me can support arrangement work from the start. Besides many choices I do are subtle compared to winds (3) or singers (4) in the big picture. Not meaningless at all, but different.
  19. The headstock. Or, in the case of proper boutique basses, the unheadstock.
  20. Having bought a Kemper Profiler Player from this very forum a number of months ago and appreciating the compact footprint that has created a great live and IEM sound (much more successfully than the HX Stomp (which I found difficult to get to grips with) I am now selling my legendary studio and live Helix Rack with many features and sound profiles for us bass players. Never left my home studio and has had very little use as it offers far more options than a mere bass player desires/requires. Used primarily as the audio interface for my Logic Pro DAW and comes with all original packaging and cheat sheet to ensure quick start. Offering this for a quick sale cheaper than others I can find on Reverb/Ebay Software updated to current spec. Try out welcome or can ship at buyers expense. Some pics are stock and one from mine showing unit connected.
