Last year the top floor was set aside for bass (and the performance area, I suppose, which was full of widdly guitarists and their 12,000 pedals, but we don't talk about them). I'm hoping for the same this year.

Finally got the top coat on and the other bits attached to the speaker. It's basically finished. As it's basically black, there's not a lot of detail that can be seen on camera. The Gnome goes on the top or at the back You can see the rails here for front and back with the grab handles Here's the grill attached It definitely has a chunky Lego or kids toy vibe to it That's one down, I need to mull on the lessons learnt and then do Cabinet #2. This week I are mostly been listening to Ulcerate. They have some lovely ballads.

It would be perfect but at 35kg it’s just too much for me these days I saw the Darkglass DG212 is 19kg but I’m not paying £900 !

I have 770's. There're Ok. I used to use DT100. They sound different. I find it difficult to mix on headphones alone. Lucky you got to compare them. Hope the replacements are good.

I think it’s around 35kg weight ? Thats heavier than my SVT212AV cab which was 30kg

Epiphone should bring back the vintage pro Thunderbird. Thats the bass i most regret selling. It sounded amazing and I sold it to the bassist in Hawkwind. Ive seen several pro bassists using them. An Epiphone RD in black so I can pretend to be Krist Novoselic's much shorter (im only 6'1") brother. Similar quality to the Thunderbird vintage pro.

Been left too near the radiator.

Took the Poseidon V out last night and remembered that I still haven't changed the strings from 45s to 40s. A night of technical hitches - my Variax acoustic wouldn't power up (battery holder, not the Line 6 original which I've mislaid, played up), someone else managed to turn the volume right down on his guitar while putting on a capo, some shenanigans around a guitar and pedalboard, and at the end of the evening, in our final jam (the customary Freebird outro) after I'd gone walkabout to the back of the room and was heading back, my sound cut out. Not wireless, not pedal, amp. The power lead had pulled out slightly. With that pushed back home, we finished the song. Featured band was a punk and post-punk band doing assorted covers, Green Day, Weezer, Beastie Boys to name a few.
