    Not at all- you could learn from each other and keep the fires (made out of old Les Pauls obviously) burning brightly I’ll give you a pass on the drummer as they have uses but wouldn’t the guitarist look much better, and more distinctive fronting bands with a bass ? theres still time to save him - move quickly !

    Here we have my DBX DriveRack PX professional loudspeaker management processor with matching DBX reference microphone for sale. I am the second owner, and this has lived in a flightcase all its life alongside my mixing console. Condition is used, although the reference mic was new this year (2025) has never been used in anger. A great tool for those of us who mix live sound from stage side whilst playing. I’m only selling as I have now upgraded my bass bins to a matching pair to my tops so will be using the internal crossovers to cut down on the weight of gear I shlep to gigs. Because I am inherently lazy, I asked ChatGPT to describe the functionality and this is what it came up with, which sounds accurate to me based on my experience. “The DBX DriveRack PX is a professional loudspeaker management system that optimises live sound systems.     Not 100 percent sure but probably. It's a Euro so I'm not sure if it makes a difference if post or pre korg? It's a well made, solid instrument !

    It’s very impressive. I sat in with Daf on Wicked a few times and depped on bass in a few small productions. It’s a little different from a band because you need to read a pad and follow the conductor at the same time (normally via a screen). As has been mentioned sometimes what is in the pad changes on the night (queue fumbling to find your spot)!

    My first foray into 5-string basses was a Cort Curbow, but I quickly took it back and exchanged it for a Yamaha RBX 765 (which I still have, about 25 years later). The problem I heard was booming bass through a Fender 100 watt 15" combo amp, but your assessment of missing mids from the bass (and the speaker) makes much more sense. Enjoy. David

    I've just finished reading most of the 18-page Talkbass thread, which runs from 2014 to August 2025! I'm going to go for a 100k MN blend pot and cut the traces for full isolation at the extremes, so I've ordered a pack of 5 via eBay. If I don't like it, I've found there's room in the cavity to fit a rotary selector switch.

    I’d say the Ashdown ABM600 is worth a try, I found it much livelier than the other Ashdown ABM & MAG amps I had, louder too. I used a Tech21 Paradriver with it much like how you use the Darkglass. The warmth & solidity of the ABM matching well with the more clinical Paradriver. It’s 12.5kg but due to size much easier to cart about than the 3-PRO.

    Thanks @Beedster. I wasn't aware of wood wax, but that looks really nice. Agreed on the grain being a bit dull but it might be better once it is stripped and revealed and almost anything looks decent in black!

    Another good one gone. One of those artists who we all took for granted, but now he's no longer with us I can't think of any equivalent singer-songwriter to replace him. I remember hearing an interview with Chris Rea once where he spoke about wanting to be like Joni Mitchell, where each album was a progression of his style regardless of commercial appeal or fashion trends. Well, I think he achieved that, so rest peacefully Chris.
