Been away for about 15 years...Who did i miss?
Hellzero replied to Gizmo's topic in General Discussion
And let's not forget Fender's extraordinary achievement of having offered 7526 different versions of the exact same model each and every year for the Namm show since your 15 years of absence... -
Would be god to see a better photo ๐

The grooves are there man, polished chrome on the saddle, look very close, it's a shite picture anyway. Trust me, they are there.
-
Got a few of them, build quality is a bit naff compared to the Halon.

I bought a set of TI Jazz Flats from David. They arrived promptly, very well packaged... and in excellent condition. Many thanks ๐๐

A request from a Facebook Transcription Forum, the complete Charles Mingus bass performance on the track 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat' from the 1959 Mingus album, 'Mingus Ah Um'. An absolute classic album chock full of magic. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/goodbye-pork-pie-hat-charles-mingus/

FS/FT: Yamaha BB735A 5-string PJ bass in 'Fired Red'

Had they done it more like the Mesa Venture - facade similarly on s slant but controls protected by overhang of case, rock solid handle, wheels - they might have got away with it Worth noting that the Venture weighed only slightly less than Luxembourg and had it's own gravitational field as the result, but was actually very easy to move around, even upstairs - defying it's Dalek-esque qualities - on the basis of those wheels and that handle ๐

I suppose on the bright side - Bass playing is one of the few activities where you could have 50 year old equipment that is still perfectly fine (or even quite desirable) to use. For a lot of new Basses a new paint job is about the limit of innovation, and even that is a re-release a lot of the time.

Just got an email re their new SBM range, lightweight powerful combos.

Saw this on a sire page. They look nice.

The usual suspects will all have a dog in the fight. Don't buy on recommendation. Go somewhere like Bass Direct and try some out. It's your decision which you prefer.

soulstar89 started following New Aguilar compressor and octaver pedals

I really like the sound of the new octave pedal. The octave up sounds much less quacky compared to the Ehx micro pog. I like how both can be mixed with sub low and dry. I just prefer the sound of the Aguilar. Grape phaser compared to mxr phase 90 sounds more silky smooth

Hi Ron. I'll have a look around, to see if I can find something suitable. It's compact & lightweight, and the gigbag / case is pretty good However, protecting an acoustic instrument from being thrown around etc is my worry. I recently ordered a freezer - just in time for Xmas.... but it arrived in a rather battered state! Pieces falling out everywhere! If they can destroy something mostly made of metal... you get my drift. Anyhow, I'll have a scout around, see if I can find something suitable/ sturdy enough. It's a crying shame this isn't being used. If I hadn't acquired my beautifully made Jabba X-short scale, I'd have hung on to this. Cheers

So what weโre sayingโฆ(weโve ended up discussing old Lakland Skyline/shoreline models) (and from looking around No Treble and other sitesโฆ) Namm 2026 really hasnโt delivered much to talk about in terms of bass stuff. Bah, Humbug.
