OI'm with those who don't like painted necks. I don't like active on board eq that doesn't have a mid control. White pickguards. Those baseball caps with the really flat peak. Ugh. -

hi Ainsley, yes I did slightly, I saw a tip to use an old roundwound string as a sort of file by sliding it up and down to widen the slot, it worked a treat and didn’t take much

We use generic foam windshields with our Sennheisers - helps with wind noise when we play outdoors, possibly helps a bit with pop filtering. Also, they're colour-coded with matching cables and coloured tape on the amp. That makes it really easy for competent people who aren't familiar with our kit to help set up - red mic, red cable, red mixer channel.

I think this is a good point. A lot of Walrus pedals are fine, but they don't have the history of being a particularly 'premium' brand so this seems a big jump. Brands who start off with some of their most expensive gear, and gradually bring the ranges down in price (thinking about Origin for example, going from expensive big box Cali to more affordable compact versions) seem to succeed/get away with premium pricing more than brands who start off as a pretty affordable/generic option and then try and hit the higher price ranges. They often end up alienating their audience/fanbase.

For sale. DiMarzio DP307 Relentless PJ Pickup Pair Gloss Black Metal. As new. Still in unopened box. DiMarzio pickups embody equal parts tradition, innovation and invention, not only in their individual design but also in the way they complement one another. The Relentless PJ set delivers a thunder-and-lightning example of these idealized combinations, pairing a Relentless J™ bridge pickup with Relentless P™ pickups. The inspiring new Relentless™ pickups combine ceramic (Relentless P) and Neodymium magnets (Relentless J), producing a better balance and up to 70 percent more output than traditional passive pickups. And best of all, these titans of teeth-rattling tone are dead quiet. Expanded mid-range punch, snappy highs and precise lows are hallmarks of the Relentless J™, while the Relentless P™ pickups sound simply massive, offering impressive output levels, beefy lows, growling midrange and crispy highs that sing with superior string definition. All Relentless™ pickups are fully potted and include our new comfort-sculpted metal covers with foil-shielded cables, along with a broad magnetic field. There are no limitations here, just high-powered tone. Relentless™ pickups will breathe new life into any bass, increase playability, and work well for any style of music from Motown to metal. Or Foam Windshields. Do you use them or do you have a good reason not to use them? I have heard that the Shure ones are the best but are the others any good?

Smooth-hound wireless, when it was market leader, back in the day, was 5ms to 8ms, if I remember correctly. Can't recall if that was ever an issue for most of us? I think the point folk did make was the cumulative nature of latency when adding the impact of pedals. It's the next but one successor U4 (mono 2.4 GHz) -> U45 (mono 5.8 GHz)-> U45D (stereo 5.8 GHz) i.e. giving the benefit of 5.8 GHz and stereo, and I guess partly in response to the Swiff WX-520 coming on the scene. It will likely be 2 to 3 times the price of the Swiff though i.e. £200+ for the U45D vs around £80 for the Swiff (on Ali Express). In addition the Swiff would appear to be a neater set-up, without that cumbersome external second balanced-mono input to achieve stereo. Hmmm...I already think I know which system I'll be heading down when it comes to upgrading my U4 😅

That makes sense. Surprised they didn't do it earlier really, I would have certainly looked at it when I was replacing my broken U4, and later when looking for a replacement for the MS-2.

I love Walrus pedals but this is going to be a tough price to justify. Will be interesting to see whether the price is adjusted if sales aren't what they expected.

It's a 14 year old thread but here's where it started: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/darkglass-pedals-are-going-to-be-made-in-the-usa-now.892646/ The relationship didn't pan out - don't know the specifics - but these Built in the USA units are Spencers redesigns. Anyway - great pedal (mine is still on my board). GLWTS!

In these tumultuous and divisive times, we must acknowledge that love, empathy, and inclusivity are not just noble ideals, but are vital components of our collective resilience and progress as a species.. While there are forces that seek to keep us in a state of conflict and mere survival, I believe that by embracing love and all its facets, we unlock boundless potential and possibilities for a beautiful, unified global future." She goes on playfully, "So yes, it’s this tiny concept that inspired the album."
