Fender geeks might be able to help with one thing I've never figured out. The headstock rear has a 5mm (approx) wood dowel/plug between the E A tuners; this is entirely from the factory but I've never understood why/what. I did wonder whether they tried fitting drop tuners to the very first production basses but they maybe didn't fit. I know the 2nd series had a larger headstock which DID have an E string drop tuner fitted.

Same goes for your MM fretless. That would be good to hear as well if its possible @ezbass. Dave

The exact opposite of the 79 P bass that I'm selling, this is an all original series 1 Fender Urge bass. Fender's first 'signature' bass designed with/for Stu Hamm. It is an amalgamation of the Precision, Jazz, and Kubicki Ex Factor basses (Kubicki active circuit with by-pass). Features a downsized alder body, Lace Sensor custom noiseless Jazz Bass pickups + custom Precision pickup, dual-band EQ, a panning Jazz pickup selector control, asymmetrical oval neck profile with a sculpted heel, string-through gold-plated bridge, black Gotoh GB7 tuners and a medium-scale, 32" graphite-reinforced maple neck featuring a 2-octave pau ferro fingerboard with 24 medium-jumbo frets. This bass also had a rotary switch offering four modes: standby (off), active mid-boost, active no-boost, and passive (urge). Weight is a very easy on the back 3.6kg / 7lb 15oz Comes with the original fitted case (inc keys). If I've missed anything I can only apologise and I'm happy to answer any questions. The absolute only trades I'd be interested in would be an early Warwick Streamer or a newer Sandberg VS / VT P bass (ideally black but open to talk). Obviously the price reflects the fact that this is all original and in excellent condition with the original (faux grey baby crocodile) case. Based in the North East but happy to talk about meeting up or courier.

Erica Synths Pico System III Eurorack Version This is a fantastic two oscillator modular system with sequencer, delay and mixer. You can also use ‘preset’ cards to access sounds instantly. It comes with 5 pre patched cards and 5 to create your own sounds. One I’ve already patched to make a simple test preset for the sequencer which can easily be desoldered and reset. The unit is boxed and comes with manual, splitter, cards, overlay ‘patches’ and blank cards. It is in excellent condition and includes the ribbon lead to connect to your eurorack. The patch leads in the first photograph are not included. Note that this is the eurorack version and not the standalone version. A great modular synth in excellent condition. Price includes UK postage.

That was by default as she's using my bass. She now finds 4 strings oddly constricting

Very pleased! It's a nice mixture, including: Norwegian Wood Wish You were here Modern Love There She Goes Bet you look good on the Dance Floor

Something from Jimmy Haslip today. This is his complete bass performance on the tune 'Homecoming' from the 1985 Yellowjackets album, 'Samurai Samba'. I chose it because it is mostly an easy read but there are some tricky fills in there so be warned! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/homecoming-yellowjackets/

Hi Rob, yes I’d glue and plug the holes, preferably with hardwood and let it dry and re drill your new holes

Hi I'm pulling together a bitsa jazz, a nice Jazz body with very decent pickups and a decent bridge courtesy of @sifi2112 with a rather nice, quite old MIM jazz neck. The neck is wide and thin and its great to play. The body is not a Fender body but was made for Si. I've just got around to putting the neck on the body and it's very tight fit but a club hammer and cold chisel sorted that out. (joke joke). The holes in the neck don't quite line up with the holes in the body. Its about 2-3mm out. I can see the edges of the holes in the neck through the holes in the body. If they were a long way apart I'd simply not worry, but as they are so close, I don't want to damage the neck and I really don;t want to drill more holes in the body. So what's the best solution, do I fill the holes in the neck with bamboo rods and decent wood glue which I have, then redrill the holes when the filling is dry or something else. All advice welcomed. Thanks Rob
