  2. In the shadows. Stranglers
  3. Behringer has good designs, if not original, so for the most part they work well. But they keep the cost down by using cheap hardware.
  4. Our guitarist used to use Marshall stacks with various distortion etc pedals before joining us. He was using a Freidman 50W all valve amp into a Freidman 212 cab with a few pedals maybe 5 or 6. He then upgraded his amp to the Freidman 100W at a cost of £4k and his pedal board now consists of his Shure wireless, distortion/ boost pedal for solos and a delay of some kind. All the other effects he used to have are now built into the amp but what a great on stage tone he gets compared to his 50W Amp that i regularly found a bit boomy. The new amp has a much more even tone across his range. Amazing the difference between a 50W & 100W head. I guess you get what you pay for. Have to say he gets no noise between songs now either. He generally uses Gibson Flying V and Les Paul and occasionally brings a Strat. Dave
  5. Nice! A fantastic bass for a great price!
  6. Yup. A very busy music pub. Apparently we were so loud they got their entertainment licence revoked by the local authority. So really nobody got asked back. That was back in 1993 iirc.
  7. I think sometimes it's a matter of poor follow up from whoever does the bands bookings. I always felt that if the owners or whoever books the bands for the venue are present during the gig you should attempt to book another date with them at the end of the gig. I don't think you wait for the venue to contact you. Daryl
  8. Has your band ever played a really nice venue, with a good crowd, lot's of dancing and the pub cash registers busy but your band was never asked back. There could be a lot of reasons. Share your thoughts or stories. Daryl
  9. I would go with a grounding issue as well. Does the noise change if you touch the strings or bridge?
  10. Hello, Pedaltrain Metro 24 board with bag and accessories, new with tag. Can ship (probably about £5) or arrange collection, any questions welcome. Thanks for looking.
  11. How much band experience does this guitarist have? Daryl
  12. Cheers Alex.... 👍
  13. No, he had several but he had a 62 jazz bass that he used for most of zeppelin recording and gigs.
  14. Today
  15. Boss OC-2 in excellent condition complete with original box and instruction manual. Sounds mighty!

  16. Had Aguilar in the past and liked it. Was in my list of possible replacements
  17. Interesting the low mid does work fine on my, could be batch specific. To be honest the tone of these amps alone wasn't to my taste either but used a sansamp in front of it which worked well
  18. That sounds fab Pete! Not gonna deny that Led Zep are one of my all time fav bands and JPJ right up there with his bass lines. Am I right in thinking he only ever had one bass? If so, did anyone ever mention it's all in the fingers?! Any clips / promo material of you guys?
  19. King of the Night Time World - KISS
  20. Agreed, tube tone sounded awful too, more fizzy like a cheap OD pedal
  21. The Music Lesson - Victor Wooten. A bit like The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior but about music/bass. I really enjoyed it when I read it on my hols.
  22. A great playing vintage Fender - if you make me a reasonable offer I may even say yes!
  23. As they have round cores I would say there's a bit mellower than the D'Ads. Watch this video, from 1:56 to 2:42 and then again from 6:49 to 7:35, which might help.
  24. I've had these a while, using them in various amps with valve preamp stages, but my move away from such amps means they are now surplus: Mullard ECC83 - code B6B3 means made in Blackburn, third week of February in either 1956, 1966 or 1976 = £50 Mullard ECC83 - (code backward3)91 means made in Chelmsford for Mullard by Marconi, but not sure how to date the rest = £50 Mullard ECC81 - no code that I can see = £25 Caveat Emptor: I have tested them in my Demeter amp and they are all working fine at time of writing, but as always with old valves be aware they can fail at any time. Please do bear that in mind before you buy.

  25. Just the PSU left now. No box but I will include a mains plug USB adaptor plus a short micro USB cable to charge the PSU with. Here we have a used but not abused Rockboard Tres 3.0 pedalboard setup that, with the addition of the power supply and patchbay, means you are set up and ready to go. No need for mains power to the board, you just charge the power supply before the gig and you can enjoy hum-free pedals all night! I've never had any issues with this setup. The battery can do a two set gig with no issue. New, all of this would have been £200, so I think £125 posted is fair. Thanks for looking EDIT: Forgot to add proof of ownership to the pictures, but hopefully pages and pages of feedback (see link in signature) will confirm I am a legit seller!
