  9. Thanks for your reply. I think that might be above my pay grade. I‘ll just order the finished transfer from Etsy. Cheers, P.
  10. I’ve got one of these - I had to repair the neck after an over enthusiastic 2 year old used it as a trampoline. still sounds very good.
  11. Too vague. What string sets. What manufacturers. My Dunlop's are 045, 065, 085, 105, 130 and GHS are 045, 065, 085, 106, 126.
  12. This model is super rare. Love Krist, basically got me into bass (as with many other teenagers picking up an instrument due to Nirvana!). No idea how he played the hanging so low down. Good luck!
  13. Here you go

  18. Looking to move this on - I thought I’d use it a lot more than I do. It’s a 3/4 size Yamaha FG Junior, spruce top, mahogany board. Had it set up and frets polished etc by Leicester luthier Howard Smith so it plays very nicely with medium/low action. Previous owner barely seems to have used it, and I’ve only played it around the house, hence it’s in very good condition with only a few minor surface marks you’d have to search for. Comes with its padded gig bag. Recently restrung with D’addario 12-52 gauge phosphor bronze strings if I recall correctly. They seem to go online for about £150ish brand new, so I’m happy with £75 plus postage in UK. You’re welcome to collect from Leicester or I travel to Derby most weeks.

  20. Yeah if there was anyone ever deserving of an ego then she is a candidate, fantastic catalogue of work.
  21. I found the Rumble 15 terrible.
  22. Rotosound Jazz 77 flats are 45/65/85/105/130 for the five string set - I understand you find the Ernie Ball cobalt flats to have greater output, but it sounds like the gauge variation would be a plus point for the Rotos.
  23. Today
  24. The original Bergantino Forte that had the variable compressor rather than the drive , simple clean hifi power. With some serious slam.
  25. I will say, the only time notation would have truly helped me was when I was in a band with a classically trained folk violinist. I think for some genres notation would help more than for others (jazz, for instance). At any rate, it wouldn't hurt to know it, just don't make it your first priority - learning the notes and tuning up must be your first priority once you've decided to actually give bass a go and have (legally) acquired one.
