  2. How the hell is this still here??? This is a great bass and case at a great price!! 👍
  3. For sale are a set of Fender PJ pickups with mounting screws in very good condition taken from my Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. We have a Fender Standard Split Single Coil Precision Bass set along with a Fender Standard Single Coil Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup. These are good sounding, quality pickups, I only changed them because I have a clear idea of what sound I want for this configuration based on having used DiMarzio Model Ps in the past. The set is going for £75 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:
  4. Hi Rabbie, I just paid ou via PayPal> Mike

  6. Friday night saw Hurtsfall's first proper headlining gig. This was at Liquid Light in Nottingham, which is first and foremost a brewery that has a bar and occasional events such as gigs and film nights. I discovered the place as it used to be home to the best vegan burgers in Nottingham. Unfortunately they seem to have moved on and there was no food on when we played. The PA is something else - it looks home-brewed but sounds great - see the photo of support band St Lucifer: There were plenty of people about while the bands were setting up and sound checking, but only a few of them opted to come inside once the actual gig started which was a bit disappointing for opener Joshua Todd, but luckily for the us and St Lucifer it filled up as the evening went on. I don't think the location helps, although it's close to the city centre, it's on an industrial estate and quite hard to find if you've not been before. With it being our first headlining set we were able to play for longer than our normal 30-35 minutes, and dusted off a couple of songs that we haven't done for a while. While it would have been nice for a few more people to have been there, once again we were competing with a goth festival in Morecambe and some of our audience were definitely in attendance there. Still it wasn't band for our first self-organised gig and we sold a decent amount of merch afterwards. Hopefully I'll be posting some more photos of us playing later in the week when they appear on social media. Next gig is also with St Lucifer in Manchester on Saturday 27th September.
  7. This is from the first batch(ish) of this version back in 2020. Never used live and in near new condition. Comes with box and papers, and velcro on the back. Would consider trading (full or partial) for a Way Huge Pork Loin, or a Sushi Box tube DI pedal. Postage will be £15 to mainland UK

  8. Selling this as I hardly use it, and have stepped away from weddings, so don't need to recreate those sounds anymore. Only gigged a few times, so in near new condition. Comes with original box, power supply, USB cable and user guide. Would consider partial trade for a Way Huge Pork Loin. Postage will be £10 to mainland UK

  9. Take it to a local ironmongers and see if they can help find what you need. You roughly know the size. Dave
  10. I’ll ask my electrician mate…. good shout
  11. Our church halls would be perfect, plenty of space and separate rooms, but the load in/out would be utterly dreadful as there isn't a dedicated car park. I keep intending to check out Bently Heath Villlage hall, which is near me, not far off the M42 and looks ideal. https://bentleyheathhall.co.uk/
  12. The remote had a spare battery and that also did not work. I connected the light to my DMX controller and it works fine. I had to re-learn DMX too, as I had forgotten that the addresses go up in 16s.
  13. Do you have a multimeter you could check across the BF cab to see what ohms you are getting. If its shorted it may have caused a problem in the amps. No expert here but its what i'd do if my amp packed in. Dave
  14. What a cracking venue. So much character. Dave
  15. Lovely example and a great price. Is this an early version? I noticed the current ones have a matching headstock.
  16. Having arranged on of the very distant previous bass bash events… I’d rather just show up and enjoy the day
  17. Fender smoked chrome bass bridge taken from my Japanese Export Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. In good condition and comes with mounting screws. £9 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:
  18. Derby is an ideal location, set one up.
  19. Definitely up for attending, but not in a position to organise this year, as I work variable shifts. Any takers?
  20. Agree with every word re: Viv. This looks like a beautiful example of his work
  21. Looks lovely! Do you still have the original one piece pick guard? Thanks!
  22. Any whispers of another midlands bass bash in the future?
  23. I am selling off all my basses except for three, two of which are 32" scale - I just find them so comfy. But it has to be said that I dwell down in the depths of the budget end of the market. That said my budget basses have kept me gigging for the past couple of decades. Aria Pro II CSB range are medium scale with models at different price points. They are all good. I have the top end of the range model CSB 450 Black n Gold for sale in the classifieds for a giveaway £300 but, perhaps, not after tomorrow as someone is coming to look at it. Hondo II H1015 are medium scale. Necks on these are utterly superb lumps of maple. Heavy basses, mind. Known for the 3-point bridges to lift but that is an easy fix, often fitted with DiMarzio pickups as stock. Some Westone Concords are medium scale, some long scale. They are excellent and go for very little money, pickups in these are tremendous, very powerful. I believe there are one or two medium scale Westone Thunder basses, too. Fender do medium scale Precisions and Jazzes, usually MIJ for the domestic market, but they pop up fairly regularly. MIJ Squiers, also. I've had several over the years, notably an A series Squier Precision that was one of the best basses I've owned. Should never have sold it. The best of all the 32" scale basses I have tried/owned is the Yamaha SB-15. Superb. Rare, though, but you never know. Any of the above are pretty straight forward things and not scary to take a punt at second hand. There isn't much to go wrong and, if it does, it is usually easily and inexpensively corrected. I've not tried one but Ibanez Mezzo also gets a lot of love on here.

  25. That could certainly work, especially if combined with the cauls to distribute the pressure. The existing bridge could be used as a template to mark the holes you'd need to drill in those pieces.
  26. In my experience, Alan at ACG makes some of the best medium scale basses in the world. For your £1000 ‘new’ budget, you can pick up a pretty decent spec ACG 2nd hand. In fact, there is one for sale on BC right now…
