  2. Caveman Audio BP1 Compact - £350 Delivered in UK. In new condition with box. Purchased from Bass Direct in May this year. I have several preamps and am having a long overdue clearout. https://www.caveman-audio.com/products/bp1c/ Potential buyers are welcome to try out in Glasgow.
  3. Oh wait perhaps the £14M is for PAT testing... never mind what I said about round-trip flights to South Africa.
  4. These things are fantastic. Easiest practice tool I've ever had. Can even use your pedalboard with them. Bass > Cable > Pedals > Waza Transmitter.
  5. It's for PAT testing... oh wait, perhaps not... someone mentioned that earlier in the thread. Flights down to South Africa then? To check on the folks working in the call center? (good wine and sun down there too... but shh 🤫)
  6. Same here! I’ve had mine a few years now and I still use them very often. At this price, they’re a bargain!
  7. Hi there, I have a issue with my '90s Spector NS5CR (Emg 40DC with the EMG BTS preamp, soldered, 9V). Well, it's started to drain my battery really fast, even if unplugged. How can I troubleshoot it? Any hint? Do you guys need pictures of the electronic cavity? Thanks
  8. Well, it's not on 9V batteries for smoke detectors that work properly.
  9. And @PirateSecurity please, _please_, tell us that you're PAT testing your amp! Remember, a red "FAILED" sticker means that it should not be used by anyone (even your customers).
  10. Are you sure? A Z3 is only £399 new. The only SBMM which comes close to matching its spec is a Ray34, and that's £999, and you still won't get an 18V preamp, passive mode, a 22nd fret or mega rolled fingerboard edges. (Using Andertons for both prices) But I guess £399 is a lot if you don't have it, but you didn't really specify what the metrics were...
  11. It's still taught, but only down in South Africa... which is the reason why the fire alarm response call center is located there.
  12. We were taught as kids in the 70s how to search for a fire. Is this no longer taught? 😕
  13. .......................it goes to 12..
  14. And welcome to Basschat @PirateSecurity

  16. A little while ago the Japanese Spector distributor ordered a very limited private run of Spector Euro CST's in a beautiful desert island finish over poplar burl, with an ash back, maple fingerboard, abalone inlays, EMG X pickups and the Darkglass Legacy (Haz-copy) preamp.... The finish blew my mind but I never thought I could get one. However, 2 bass sales and a very lucky timing (this bass was included in a shop 'sale') meant it actually became affordable. Cue the fantastic Danny Stewart at Bass Japan Direct who obtained the bass for me, checked it over, dealt with any declarations and couriered it to me in record time..... And here she is.... Just absolutely stunning and less than a 3rd of the price of a US custom equivalent! I think I'm in love!
  17. Do you record in your bathroom? It's somewhat buried in the reverberation. Quite a narrow stereo field too. I'm sure these are artistic choices though.
  18. That's not quite what your staff member wrote. Anyway, asking a customer to deactivate the fire alarm is incredibly dangerous. It doesn't matter if your call center in South Africa saw vaping, or thought they saw vaping. What if the alarm was triggered for another reason? What if the source was something smoldering away in the walls? I hope that Pirate improves... you're risking people's lives.
  19. Same here, mine is always on my board, such a great pedal, pretty rare to see one for sale these days, somebody needs to grab a bargain!
  20. Prices of Z series are still pretty high but lovely basses
  21. You know that same staff member then emailed you to say she wasn't aware of your language on previous calls and couldn't lift the supension. And that I then emailed you a full response, explaining the ban. Please stop making misrepresentations on here. I'd appreciate it if you didn't call staff out by name either, as I've taken care not to give out your details.
  22. Being closer to the floor doesn't attenuate highs, it just makes them harder to hear, being more directional than low frequencies. You get the best results with the cab aimed at your head.
  23. I would say out on T2, but I think not on T1. The pedals are in the signal chain, but not the board or the PSU.
  24. By and large 50Hz tuning will give the best results with the average driver. Premium drivers may work better with 40-45 Hz tuning, but these aren't premium.
  25. But that's 2 louder 😯
