  3. Hi All, Got my eye on a PJB D400 which I also want to use as a preamp/DI for teaching online lessons. Anyone know if PJB heads can be run safely without having a speaker load attached? Conventional wisdom seems to indicate that class D power amps don't need a load, but wanted to check! Thanks! Andy
  4. This is in the Colchester store, saw it there a while back. It's such an incredibly niche instrument that they will struggle to sell it! If anyone is interested, send them an offer via email, they tend to be quite negotiable on the niche things that haven't sold in a while.
  5. I've done both, most recently I put them back in as I've lost them after affixing them with masking/sellotape in the past.
  6. See what the BC Swear Aunty makes of this, it's not my fault! I've been in a band called Firef***ers since February. From what I understand the name comes from a song by Helge Schneider and was the result of needing a name but not being able to think of one beforehand. They've been going for a while and were a typical rock covers party band but had a bit of a rethink over Coivd, caused in part by the death of one of the founders and they're now a Stranglers cover band, the long term plan is to include some originals as well once we have a solid ground to build on. https://www.youtube.com/@MrPardoned I'm not on any of those BTW, they're from before I joined, but maybe we'll do some more videos soon. Our first gig is on the 18th of October. I'm 50/50 excited/runnning around going "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" We're based on the nothern outskirts of Rendsburg in Schleswig Holstein, I doubt I'll see any of you at a gig anytime soon!
  7. Bought a digital calliper in the end to get an accurate measurement, needed to be almost 6mm longer than those available off the shelf in the UK. Tim at ZeroMod has been very helpful, though I'm still waiting on him to confirm pricing and payment etc. I did reach out to Retrovibe after theirs didn't fit but I've not heard back.
  8. Trades - X Touch Universal, maybe Alto TS215. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  9. I look forward to attaching the covers to my AVII Precision. I dream of creating the u-shaped scar on the delicate nitro finish.
  10. Thanks Oliver, I've looked at those, they look lovely and are probably a very good solution for the final layer, cost might be an issue so I'm just doing the sums!
  11. Tell me about it 🤔
  12. Sick tone! That Secret Lab is a beaut tho!
  13. Well , I do live on the Isle of Wight , AKA Gods waiting room . Cheap / free bands are also an issue , especially if the kids from the local music college form bands and offer to play for free to get gig experience. The money over here is very poor ,always has been , I don’t think I’ve ever played in a band that got £300 for a gig . Noise issues and small / quieter venues also make it difficult for full bands , we are considering going out as a trio ( no drummer ) and just using a Beat buddy pedal ( which we’ve used for rehearsal for years ). Smaller band footprint / easy volume control / correct tempo for every song , but you do loose the dynamics of a real drummer
  14. I went through a stage of ‘always on’ but so subtle a setting, you’d only really notice on bass only moments. It’s more to give the bass tone a 3D effect, I’ve done it in the past with subtle flanging effects, only really noticing the effect when chugging 8’s or 16’s? I only stopped using the effect due to limited space on my pedal board but that will be resolved very soon…
  15. Line 6 HX Stomp XL, selling due to downsizing my board. It's in pretty good nick, it's spent the majority of its time on a pedalboard in a protective case. It currently has some custom and purchased presets on it, but I can reset it back to factory if preferred. It comes with velcro on the back, the rubber feet are in the box. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  16. Walrus Audio Canvas Mono DI/LI. Selling due to downsizing my board. Great little pedal with with switchable pad, ground lift, and summing options. Adds a nice bit of colour too! There's currently velcro on the back, but easy to remove cleanly. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  17. I think so too - but you know Talkbass and their opinions.....
  18. I can lend you a butter knife and you could go at it like Jaco, if you like.
  19. My Euro 5LX really didn't get along with my Boss Waza Air wireless headphones. Made a VERY similar noise... Have you tried turning the tonepump preamp down? Depending on the age of the bass there is an internal trimmer control on the preamp. Worth a look and if it's there turn it down to just below half way. I've bought a HAZ labs clone preamp to put in mine when I get around to it!
  20. It almost sounds like the circuit is picking up your mobile telephone or some other device with an internal antenna. As others have said, if you can send us a picture of the internals with the control cavity cover off, someone here may spot an issue like a missing ground wire.
  21. Cash Converters seem to have cottoned on. Only a few years ago, they'd have sold this for £85 thinking it was a toy.
  22. This is a great book and a thoroughly excellent recommendation.
  23. The pickup cover and bridge cover have never been attached to my American Original Jazz since new. Nor will they ever be. No unsightly holes in my bass, thank you very much. One instrument I had already had the bridge cover attached by someone else (Grrr!), so I carefully replaced the screws after removing said Talent Inhibitor. I don't like unsightly holes if avoidable. If I take an instrument's scratch guard off, I always lay the screws out in the exact pattern they came in, so the correct screw goes back into it's original hole. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to walk to the Post Office without walking on a single paving slab crack or join... 🤔
  24. Today
  25. Much cleaner and tighter sound IMO.Cheers.
