  1. Past hour
  2. Hmmm.. fair! It all seems to be about fan-fret, headless 5 or 6 strings round these parts when I'm out and about at gigs. Maybe if they'd given this one a 35" scale and set it up BEAD out of the box it might have added something. At least two paragraphs of AI word soup, if nothing else!
  3. Interesting, never thought of that. Will give it some wiggle. I just compared, if anything Joyo is 1mm longer than standard jack, which means it'd just sit proud. And funny it was on BOTH piezos. Are you using a piezo then?
  4. I once bought a Jackson because I saw a guy playing it onstage and it sounded excellent. It was for sale, so I bought it. It played really nicely and had a great neck. But I just couldn't get on with that pointy headstock and it had to go. ....I'm so shallow.
  5. If I click on the notifications bell the pull-down appears but spins and shows no conent, but if I click on "View all notifications" it takes me to a page of links which works. I tried clicking on a "Like" (annoyingly in the "Daily Annoyances" thread) and it said "Sorry, there was a problem reacting to this content.".
  6. Yes, but I’d be very surprised they will want you to like your helix more when the want you to spend £1,500 on a Stadium?
  7. I used some old Picatos I had lying around but I don't think they make them anymore. These look good alternatives and they should be a good fit: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/la-bella-760fl-s-deep-talkin-bass-flats-light-43-104-short-scale/
  8. Hi yes it does thanks harry
  9. Just picked this up, thanks I havent really pushed it to be honest but will give that a try
  10. Impending retirement means that I need to de-clutter, beginning with some of my beloved basses. A Beautiful bass bought from here in 24, with a great sound, which I am just not using much. It is the real deal with gorgeous looks and construction in my honest opinion. Someone out there will love it. It is also loud enough to practice with without an amp IMHO! Happy to post as it comes with a generic hard case that fits archtop basses "The Gretsch G5442BDC Electromatic Hollow Body Short Scale bass guitar has a comfortably short scale at 30.25", and is armed with two powerful "Black Top" Filter'Tron™ bass pickups, giving it an electrifying deep-end voice and identity. The double-cutaway hollow and bound body offers full bass tone and balance, and is finished in Transparent Red." Note: I have been asked about neck dive, just in case you are worried about that this is my answer. "I can't say that it has bothered me,. Being an true hollow body/archtop It is very light and hangs horizontally, but it feels normal to rest my right arm on the body, which pushes the neck upwards to a comfortable, natural playing position. It also feels good sitting down. I imagine that the longer scale Gretsch hollows may have serious neck dive". G5442BDC Spec sheet.pdf

  11. Yeah, I’m about to retire (from work, not playing bass!) and thinking of buying it. 🤔😂
  12. I think much of the metal market are interested in low-tuned 4 strings at the moment. Certainly that’s where I’m at with that side of things. Si
  13. Clearing out a lot of stuff that is just sitting in boxes under my desk. For sale is my EBS Microbass in Bass preamp and DI. Bought it on here a few years ago and used it for a number of tours for FOH and practice at home until it started to momentarily cut out on channel A intermittently but never for long, but long enough to not want to use it for live. Amazing sounding preamp and speaker sim and incredibly versatile. Probably could be used as a practice solution for somebody or perhaps somebody with tech knowledge or an interest in repairing things could fix it. £75 delivered.
  14. If I was still gigging 4s I'd definitely have one of those. Not because of that advertising copy, mind. Seems odd to target the metal market and not offer a 5, but it saves me from myself.
  15. AI doing what Scary Pockets have been doing for years:
  16. I bought this cab a few years ago with the intention of restoring it and possibly keeping it. I have two 408s already so in a moment of rational thought I decided to sell it as bought and as A project for the next owner to tackle. No sniffs on the sales thread so I decided to do it up. I stripped it, repaired the front lower edge with new wood, filled the dents and scars with 2 pack filler. Re tolexed with period correct fender silver face era. Thankfully the grills were without damage so they just got a good clean. Pictures are in reverse order.
  17. This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers
  18. Here is a lovely condition Stagg EUB. I bought this a while back when I was going to start teaching but realised having a proper bass is easier (and what students expect). Works perfectly, comes in the case and with the rests. Couple of little gold marks on the side to indicate where the finger positions are. Other than that, it’s in excellent shape. Bass is in Bristol but I reckon I probably could send it. I have packaging materials and I reckon we’d find a courier that would do it. £299. (Cat for scale and not included in the deal)
  19. I personly like a HPF at the very end of my chnage to get rid of all the sub freqs before they hit the power stage. But it is a personal thing, i know it's a boring answer but experiment with placement, first, last try it before and after various effects/drives if you have them.
  20. Today
  21. It does seem about due (I do hate trying to read the stupid American date format). Ten months since the last one, ten months between the previous one and the last one, and earlier ones were more frequent than that.
