I am selling my Barefaced Super Compact bass cabinet. Price is £500. I bought the cab on this forum from @FinnDave in March 2024. Condition is excellent. It is a 1x12 cabinet, with a silver cloth grill. The cab is rated at 600w / 8 ohm. Cover is included. These are incredible cabs, and super-light. I am only selling because I have subsequently bought more Barefaced cabs! Collection preferred. Not looking for trades. Thanks

Playing a pub that occasionally has live music. I struggle with that scenario when it happens to my band. I get the impression that the punters are saying, " I really didn't come here for music" . Daryl

Yes, you guys would do great there. It's a nice size room but not too big. Daryl

So after 9 weeks off we had a gig at last - or at least 2/3 of us did. The drummer came down with a bout of bronchitis yesterday. Luckily we managed to find a last minute dep, a chap we've known for years and played with in various bands (including him and the guitarist playing in Martin Turner's band for a few years). That meant we had to scribble a list of reasonable songs we all knew. We actually had a lot spare at the end of the night. It was great to play with another good drummer and it can give familiar songs from the usual list a whole new vibe. We had a great time. The audience were ok and we went down well. I don't think the pub puts on enough bands to really establish it as a music venue really. I took my Sire P7-5, but actually played my stinger-equipped Sterling Sub5 all night because I was enjoying it so much. Usual GT-6B and Rumble 500 combo provided tone and heft. I forgot to take any photos, but a lovely young lady (barmaid on her night off) did get some great shots, so I'll post one or two of those when they are forwarded on. Instead you can have a shot of tonight's footwear - custom burgundy suede Converse One Stars I just know you're now going to want to play with the customisation tool, so here you go... https://www.converse.com/uk/en/products/customize/custom-collections/start-with-a-blank

Why 5-string sets often have thinner A-and E strings?

I use 40-60-80-100-125 or -130. I don't have any issues with them feeling wimpy and sounding soft. Still, if you want 45-65-85-105-130, buy some Elites. -

Posted this over at TB and wanted to share here (because I’m a narcissist and need the attention). I managed to pick up a Blue 442 and I’d been hunting around for a 442 for ages, then as soon as I got it I found a Red one. Soon as they both arrived I put them up for sale because that’s what I do. But thanks to @fretmeister I finally figured out an easy way to record pedal demos. All the old audio demos are long since removed and I didn’t want to bump a zombie thread from 2013. I mean I must have got my first one of these around 2008, the Red model or Bass mod was first made for me. In my head this has always been the best filter I’ve ever tried, with the caveat I’ve not used any filters in the past ten years and I don’t really like huge peaky filters. So I tried the guitar version once, thought oh I love that, got in touch with Tone Factor (precursor to Mojo Hand) and they mentioned they could do a bass mod for me. So the first one I owned was modded in this way, over time they eventually added it as a standard item and did a sub brand with the Boomstick Bottom Feeder. Having done this demo…. I think the guitar one might be better, but for such a small and simple mod (couple of cap changes) they sound quite different. I could easy grab either I think depending on my mood that day. Mainly this has come out of me wanting to do some demos and this one seemingly coming out quite nice, apart from the lighting is terrible and the graphics are cheesy. Signal chain is Rickenbacker 4003 with the IMA Signature Super Polished La Bella’s (put on about 10 minutes before I recorded this), into the Red, into the Blue, into the Darkglass Element running their Berg 6x10 IR (which is my favourite when running synths and heavy effect sounds), LPF boosted and HPF cut (heavily). Anyway, gave me something to do after work, enjoy and let me know if I should stick to the day job and sell anything resembling a pedal or bass. Oh and the reason that this is pointless is these have been discontinued for at least 10 years, took me months to find either of them, sure another has popped up since and they’re like buses but 🤷♂️ maybe it’s a good indication of what the current Dod 440 is since that’s what these are based on (vintage model).

Selling this lot as I just bought an Anagram and a Dingwall SP1 5-String is coming my way. Sushibox Neptunium - £350 Brand new and bought Feb 14 2025 on Nathan’s last release. I know I will regret this but I like to try new gears. For now, I’m going full multiFX so letting this go. Comes with original box and case candies. Demo here 3Leaf You’re Doom - £240 Bought via ebay last month and without the original box. Will pack it properly and include the clear topper. Broughton Subsonic - £130 Got this from admiralchew, easily my fave octaver at the moment but again I’m going full multiFX route so this has to go. No box as I lost it when we were moving home. Will pack properly. Topper included. Subsonic Demo https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jF4WckY9KOC3DgrMCrzsnQ2_JJy49JMJ/view?usp=drivesdk Postage included! You can get them as a pack for £700 if you like. I’ll include a Pedaltrain PB-3 riser, 3 way daisy chain, EBS Gold 10cm flat patch cable and a Onespot PSU adapter that can power them with no problem. Any questions, just message me! No trades please. Thank you! Chad

Got the standard 45-125 Super Brights on my LT5 now! I love these strings, very much more flexible and respond better to how you're playing to what I was using. They've completely opened up the sound on my Spector. The bass now sings, where it sounded a bit stiff and dead. The B string is so clear and articulate now. Easier on the hands too, which I suppose is from not having to pull the sound out of the bass so much!
