  1. Past hour
  2. I reckon you'll love it mate
  3. What can I say? Shocked but knew the end was near. An absolute legend and that term is indeed necessary for Ozzy. Playing Sabbath LOUD today. RIP.
  4. Currently debating which tuning machines to use. I do not like or rate press fit bushings, I think they're stupid and I will not fit them to a bass where I have a choice. But it's 17mm holes, and I know the majority of tuners with screw in bushings are mini sized, like 14-15mm tuner holes. Don't want to fill and redrill the holes, so what's out there for 16-17mm headstock holes? Hipshot (Licenced) Ultralite 1/2" Schaller BM Light Grover Titan Schaller M4S Gotoh GB528 All of these are rather expensive (currently leaning towards the Schaller BM Light) - do none of the "good, but cheaper" type suppliers (Wilkinson and the likes) do a full size tuner with screw fit bushings?
  5. 'ok, I suffer from "white coat syndrome" when it comes to making recordings of me playing anything... I started organ lessons September last year. Here's a rather splashy recording with assorted errors using my Hauptwerk organ using the Hereford Cathedral sample set... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LomcMKJeDjRNR1i1UzkGShtLJsqOCKrL/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R-DqKlYMf_UOcd2jfmYxpgxsIujQgguP/view?usp=sharing
  6. Yes, 1.5" at the nut is Jazz size. It's very comfy to play 👍🏼
  7. I am interested in the amp, i am based in Central Scotland. Can this item be shipped, thanks
  8. Great musician, singer & frontman. But a total bellend of a person who supported apartheid.

  10. I haven't lemon oilled it for a while, and the photo is only a phone photo, so all those things could affect the colour, although just checking against a Gibson ES135 and Fender Jap Jazzmaster, it is slightly lighter than the fingerboards those two
  11. Nothing intrinsically wrong with Fender basses, but why would I buy one when I can buy one of these instead?

  13. Price drop - £135 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Cheers! Michael

  16. A good telecaster is a thing of beauty. As it happens swapping instruments for a bit has got me writing again and I haven't done that for ages. I still have my favourite bass kit, but at the moment I'm looking at it as part of composing rather than being a bassist. I might even record some of it if I ever get a week off work.
  17. Thanks for the replies So after giving it some thought I decided to go for a bass tube screamer, my thinking being that it was better to go for the one I wanted than you go through a few different pedals to settle on one that I liked. Starting to regret it now though. I could not find anywhere in the UK that had one in stock so I ordered from musicstore.com (formerly DV247) as I decided I was fine to wait the 3-4 days quoted. A week goes by and I speak to UPS who tell me the parcel is pending customs clearance, the person I speak to seems nice but clueless so I decide to email musicstore.com to see if they can investigate at there end to see if there is anything they can do( have dealt with ups loads in the past and it's very common for them to be missing documents and not bother to contact the sender to resolve) Musicstore emails me and tells me they cannot do anything to speed up delivery times, the next day I receive an email from another staff member at musicstore who says that the parcel is with ups and customs and they are speaking to ups to resolve. Ups emails me and asks me for a copy of the invoice which I email them, a few days pass and I email them to chase up and they again request the invoice despite me sending them this days ago so I send to them and tell them that I sent this to them already Emailed musicstore to tell them this and hoping that they will then put pressure on Ups to resolve this, 2 days passes and no response, is now today's date and I email both Ups and musicstore as it's now 2 weeks since I placed the order. Musicstore emails me and tells me that they cannot do anything to speed up the delivery. I know delays happen but I can't help but feel this has been handled pretty badly and had I known 3-4 days would turn out to mean 2+ weeks I would have looked at alternatives.
  18. Ah ha! Sure looks like it - thanks for the info!
  19. Well it turned up this morning It's ex Demo but in great condition I might try it out this afternoon, when I get back from shopping er work!
  20. For me, the worst overplayer I went on stage with was a flute player when I was in college and we had an asignment to rehearse and play a gig. We practised all term, had a handful of nice numbers (Watermelon Man and a few other lively jazz tunes). The flue player didn't turn up to the practise sessions, but turned up to the gig and played ALL OVER EVERY PART OF EVERY SONG TWITTERING AWAY LIKE A PARROT ON METH. I could have twatted him with a mic stand.
  21. I am not an Adam Clayton fan. I don't like his basslines. He's a multimillion selling artist in one of the worlds biggest bands and I play the occasional pub gig, but still, I don't think slapp bass would be an improvement.
  22. Today
  23. What a bass here.... looks amaizing,I bet sounds fantastic. 🤩
  24. Whereabouts in Warwickshire ?
  25. I have this model. The finish is lovely, the weight and balance are great and people always comment positively when I gig it. Buy with confidence @neepheid is a great guy and this is a lovely instrument.
  26. I don't think Ozzy and Dio were particularly friends either.
