  2. What would sort it out - but they won't do it - is to go and book a hearing test. These are easily available on the high street. Then they might understand that they've got a problem, or will have one soon... That would determine frequency range and sensitivity.
  3. Bass players who think just going straight into an amp is always the best 😜 EVERYONE notices when you're swelling three octaves of the same note, with an additional octave up & down into delay, reverb and shimmer reverb and you sound reminiscent of a church organ.

Wow! First time in over 10 years that I've managed to start a new Feedback thread. Steve is excellent company, with tales to tell. A pint with him at The Porcupine went by very fast ... I left with his cash, he left with my Alusonic bass cab. It's never too late to start learning double bass.
  5. Wow, that’s a nice piece of wood! I can’t wait to see more of it!
  6. Fade to Grey - Visage
  7. Bass players who have way too many effects pedals (i.e. more than zero). It's a bass guitar, no-one except other bass players will even notice. Also goes for guitarists to some extent. Pedal boards that they spend ages fiddling with between songs. Just play the bloody thing.
  8. Shadow SH950 pick up - used but great condition, not the fanciest of pick ups but I’ve enjoyed the sound I get from it. Surplus to requirements now I’ve sold my double bass. £50 + £5 P&P Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass Preamp - also used and good condition though the 9V power socket doesn’t work so well, probably repairable but I just used a 9V battery instead which worked fine and lasted for ages. £60 + £5 P&P
  9. Hey Guys, I’m not 100% sure that I want to move this on, but I’m finding myself using my other bass a bit more often lately and this is sat being unplayed. I’ve owned this from new when they became available on Thomann earlier this year. It had a couple of high frets which were quickly professionally seen to by Mark at Wilts Guitar Repair. Other than that, the bass is in great condition and currently strung up with a fresh set of DR High Beams. All specs and info can be found here: https://www.thomann.co.uk/sadowsky_metroexpress_24_5_modern_ma_ss.htm Some videos of it in action: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DH60nsVOcnq/?igsh=MXUzc2Q2Z3Zpdnp2eg== https://www.instagram.com/reel/DF3uTZ3NBr0/?igsh=MWJvd2FmM2VkdDc3ZQ== This bass comes with Sadowsky strap locks and a padded deluxe Sadowsky gig bag which is in great condition as well. I’d be interested in a possible trade for either: Spector Euro 5 String Musicman/Sterling Stingray 2EQ 4 String Lakland 55-60 5 String Warwick Streamer 5 String I have a Squier Classic Vibe 60’s jazz bass (Older model) that I could include as well for the right deal also. I have a box and can post at the buyers expense, otherwise this is can be collected from Bridgwater, Somerset. Thanks, Josh.

  11. Yamaha SessionCake SC-02 Opened, never used SessionCake SC-02 adds vocalists, keyboardists, and digital instruments to the mix with XLR and stereo left (mono) and right (Hi-Z) inputs, as well as a GAIN (MIC) control for dynamic microphones
  12. Ref the OP, I did the same thing myself a few years ago. Only minor difference was at the break I made my position clear that if they didn't turn down then I was on my way. They did, thankfully, but I still left the band the next day.
  13. We did one, where the head lining band provided the PA and sound engineer. It was so loud I did the gig with my 19dB ACS IEMs and 30dB ear defenders over top. That was the last gig I did with that band. When the headliners came on they turned the levels up, and even outside the venue it was too loud to not have hearing protection. Me at the gig, looking p***ed...
  14. Bargain! These are great. Won’t be here for long
  15. Dropped to £90 posted.
  16. My favourite beef with the whole flippin scene.. Im totally with you. My 2nd to ever last gig was a dep with a Sixties tribute type thing.. Beatles, CSN, etc etc. I had my suspicions about the volume so took my purple -30 industrial plugs but it was borderline... "Im outta here" I stuck it out and then told them, 'no thanks'. Pity cause they were very good, but two guitars and keys blasting out of a trio of 100w Twin Reverbs with five part harmonies? One of the loudest gigs Ive ever done. Awful.

  18. My memory of these is they pack a huge punch
  19. Another vote for LFSys here. I swapped two Barefaced One10s for a single LFSys Monza, the 1x10 cab, and it absolutely spanks them in my opinion. As you brought up, the One10s are too vintagey voiced in my opinion, but they don't pretend to be anything else so that's fair enough. If you want an open and accurate cab, with bags of power, I'd definitely check out a Monza.
  20. A lot depends on their positioning - they seem less 'closed' if they can be set a little away from a wall. That said, I often don't have the speaker directly in contact with the floor - I often lift up onto a case / wedge.
  21. Bought this the other week on here to use whilst I waited for delivery from overseas, fantastic 2 channel preamp with extremely useful AGS OD channel - Bass @ 40hz, Parameteic Mids @ 180-1000hz, Treble @ 4khz. Selling for exactly what I paid - £108 inc delivery or always interested in Trades - can add cash if necessary
  22. Most kind thanks! How "open" do the GRs sound? (As opposed to "closed"/boxy)
  23. Red - King Crimson
  24. I've been saying pretty much the same thing since the day I bought one...one of the smoothest, easy-to-play Precision necks I've ever played, very responsive tone control...better than quite a few of the current Fenders. Looks great with the gold anodized pickguard, too. Absolutely no need to buy any other P bass.
