Bought in the hope i could get away with 30 all valve watts but unfortunately not. Brand new JJ EL84’s fitted and comes with a spare set of EH valves. Really nice amp and tone to die for - if i could have this tone with more power id be in heaven! Collection from Bolton or could do a meet up. Could cut a deal if you want the ABM 4x10 ive also advertised on here

RCF310 (used price £150ish). We use(d) one as our single FOH PA for our Duo until I upgraded to QSCK10 for use in other band scenarios at which point the RCF310 became the floor monitor. However, the QSCK10 has such a broad spread of sound that we can get away without the monitor and just get some bleed from the side of the single QSCK10. So what I'm saying is... the RCF310 makes a great monitor but it could also double up as a sole FOH speaker.

You know there might be more than I've been led to believe, but it's possible this amp had been serviced with non-spec'd or alternate parts- which might have to do with why the output is so anemic. I'm not the tech though, and life's too short for some things... Also, as far as I've been able to find, there seems to be no Mk IV schematic in existence. ? Trace Elliot has a rabbit hole of hardly documented work. Thanks again for the files though!

Old music players with their violins, even worse. I try to keep my hands off of any fender based thread. The design is an old hat, electronics cheapo, and the whole concept was neatly described by @BigRedX. Leo did evolve, but there are lots of bassists here who - some of which most likely - believe that a P or a J is the ultimate weapon (no, not that Jaco thing again, because he decided to mod the existing fretboard severely). They were and are the stepstones, because they are so numerous and cheap (from many viewpoints). I have never played a P bass that I would have liked, because of quality (CS was far from its ridiculous price tag), or sound. The pickup looks like the design work was delayed and the result at that point was bolted on (sorry). Cumbersome weight and shape, as ergonomic as a violin. I have tried quite different basses during my playing years. I may not be a very good player, but I know what I want from my instruments. At the moment I play a Vigier Passion II the most, and for five string work I use an MG Genesis (I admit it could be considered as a refined J on steroids). These have super necks, and electronics that can really shape the sound. A P and a flatwound set may be the thing for someone else, not me. Basses have evolved if I haven't. Try a G&L if it has to be Leo's design.

Are they decent quality? That's a bit difficult to tell from a handful of photographs taken by the maker that no doubt show the best of the instruments in question. They look well enough made, but how can you really know until you have taken the plunge and bought one? As for the price, they are being made in Italy so, unless you are also in the EU, shipping, VAT and import duty will bring the final amount closer to £1350 in the UK for most of the examples shown on the Reverb page, and it you don't like it once you've actually tried it there is then the hassle of sending it back and reclaiming the tax paid which is no longer as straight-forward as it used to be. Personally I think that's a bit expensive for a Fender copy by someone who is still relatively unknown.

What! Have you discussed this with the powers that be? I'm fairly certain that the laws of physics still hold true where I live regarding space and time. Rob

Yes - sorry I don't have anything prior to Mk V but I thought there could be some similarities.

A general thanks to the majority of contributors to this thread for engaging thoughtfully and honestly in the spirit I originally posted it. It's made for an interesting read and I am reassured at the moral compasses of most of you. Not sure what more can be said, so Mods - I think we can probably close this now as we're getting off topic, arguing interpretation of law etc.

Quick dumb question! I'm putting belly and arm carves into a Telecaster body (boo; hiss etc) and ultimately it will be getting a plastic wrap finish courtesy of a local car place that is willing to give it a try. The body already has a poly coat on it apart from the bits that I have shaped. They will be getting painted so the wrap will stay on. Do I need to use a sealer before the paint, and if so can someone recommend a rattle can sealer? Or do I just paint it - will paint alone protect the body wood enough? ta
