I'd like to get two basses refinished in my *ehem* signature chameleon flip-paint. I know that not all 'refinishers' have experience of these specialised paints (the application is different to say, poly), so I'm on the look out for some who know what they are doing - ideally local to me in East Anglia.

I’m looking at adding some drive to my clean tone to run in front of my amp for live use. I do not use a lot of FX but I could benefit for slight light drive on certain songs Should I just buy a drive pedal or something like the Tech 21 Bassdriver DI or a low cost multi fx such as Boss GX1 all around the same price If the Boss GX1 does a decent overdrive sound ( very mild to fuzz ) it may be money well spent with the other features on offer Thoughts ?

Well, if no amount of settings tweaking can make them work satisfactorily then I guess they are "defective" and it's not your fault they've been insufficiently spec'ed... As for the iPad, I wouldn't even bother reporting it, IMO it's consumer electronics and out of the scope of any tier of this challenge, regardless of what you use it for.

I would have pretended that the existing IEMs were broken due to distorting and a replacement is necessary 😉 Also iPads have so many uses they can’t be classified as music gear

I survived Jan! I‘ve sold a couple of gears and had purchasing power but thankfully I’ve not given in on any thing! My goal is to stick with just my Yamaha and Anagram. Focus on gear mileage and playing. Feb let’s go!!

I have had similar issues to this. Shocks, obviously low voltage, but annoyingly painful from a mic when recording vocals. I solved it by earthing the mic cable outer plug with a croc clip and a cable going outside buried in the garden about a foot deep. i also use an RCD plug on the main electric feed into my studio just in case. It has never tripped. on another similar issue, one of my guitars is annoyingly noisy (strat 1954 single coils) so I connect myself to the guitar with a tens machine stick pad and a cable/croc clip to the rear of the trem block. Keeps it earthed to me even if I am not touching the strings, and cuts out all the static noise in the winter when the air is dry.
