  2. It must be starting to work but I've a feeling there is more to this!
  3. Hey You - Thin Lizzy
  4. Hi, I'm using a EA Wizzy 10 at the moment but its struggling to keep up with an 18 piece big band with a loud drummer even in a rehearsal situation.Just wondering what difference would I notice with the Crazy 88. I'm on DB with a Realist PUP and a TecAmp 500 via a Fishman Platinum Pre-amp. Cheers
  5. Nice comfy strap, helps with those weighty Basses you're thinking of selling becasuse they're too heavy. Well used, been sitting in storage for the last two thousand years. Adjustable length (at both ends) from approx 44in (112cm) to 57in (145cm) from hole to hole. Full working order, OK condition - there's some crud around the holes, nothing that counts as a biohazard and I'll throw it in for free. Thirty quid posted, knock a fiver off if you can collect from Bewdley DY12 I'm in Manchester and Bolton 27th - 28th September and could meet up there if that helps.
  6. I was really looking forward to heading up to Taunton again this year but my plans have been thwarted as Mrs OBBM has acquired tickets to see Chris McCausland at the Hall for Cornwall that afternoon. We don't many big names down here as it's a bit off the beaten track and, anyway, it would more than my life's worth to decline. I'll try and get there next year.
  7. Thank you.
  8. I will have to take you up on that invitation! A few snaps from the sidelines last night
  9. PDN Stingray Neptune blue.
  10. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  11. Last bump before the dump...
  12. Bump for my favourite combo I ever owned.
  13. As Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols said, you don’t have to be best mates in a band any more than if in a football team, you still pass the ball to the best placed player even if you don’t get on with them.
  14. Thanks, yes the LFSys leaves any amp with nowhere to hide. That is indeed the price to pay for transparency. @BassAdder60 good to know - what made you move on from the Eich?
  15. He does make a lovely cable. A worthy successor to obbm.
  16. Bands with personal issues; The Kinks, The Beatles, The Stones, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Cream, etc etc . . . . You don't have to like everyone in the band, you just have to be able to make music with them. Success is good at papering over the cracks.
  17. Are there any people under 40 on this thread? I would love to hear their point of view.
  18. Cheap basses always have cheap pickups and electrics. It's where they cut corners. I have an inexpensive jazz bass which sounds OK in the right circumstances. Putting in Barts, Nordstrands etc would cost more than the bass, and resale value would be through the floor. My solution, which got me half way there was a Sadowsky preamp. On a good day, I can almost imagine I'm playing my Sadowsky Jazz. So get the best preamp you can find.
  19. Today
  20. Road Runner Deluxe LEFT HANDED POLYFOAM Hard shell electric guitar case. Nice decent condition.
  21. Short scale 30” bass. I bought this new a few years ago to put on a Roland GK hex pickup hence the two screw holes either side of the bridge. I also managed to knock one of the tuners and dislodge the elephant ear. I spent a few months looking for the right tuner to replace it, when I found a guy on Facebook MP selling the neck (including tuners) for next to nothing. I modded it a little but for fun - it has a daft (and very easy to remove) competition stripe sticker. It came with Jazz bass style knobs (which I have somewhere and will include) which I replaced with some push on black metal jobs I would say the pickups sound really good on this and they have a good hot output. NOTE: the 2nd neck has one broken tuner (the E string one), you can just see it in the pics. I now have another bass which has the GK pickup so this is now up for grabs. Cheap as chips, might be good for a beginner or a modder - fretted and fretless? Collection only at he moment, demos welcome here in London N21, although its in desperate need of a new set of strings!
  22. I’m going to invoke the law of diminishing returns 🤣
  23. Shout At The Devil - Mötley Crüe
  24. Not used the NU-X but there are other options with similar specs for less money in the budget power supply space. I have one of these and it's been great. They also do a 5, 10 and 12 port supply. https://www.andertons.co.uk/tone-city-8-output-isolated-pedal-power-supply/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20730020346&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUoSLvVhWiQwoeDRzPOnFxbip&gclid=CjwKCAjwobnGBhBNEiwAu2mpFJ1bodTgzPIWgNTCBLmMQCFSL2hYAbIK9Pfnp9n4-8aFB9QIXKriURoCkxQQAvD_BwE
