  2. Apologies for going 'off topic' but I have done another mahoosive Al Di Meola chart that I have really proud of. This is the solo guitar part for the tune 'Esmeralda' from the 2015 Al Di Meola album, 'Elysium'. I do these for my own purposes but it seems silly just to keep them to myself. Let your guitar player friends know about them if you think they may be interested. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/esmeralda-al-di-meola/
  3. 33" scale 18mm string spacing
  4. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  5. And what are those controll knobs? Is there passive tone which works in active mode also, like Fodera's have? And I think, that there is 3 band eq? Have those eq knobs only boost or cut and boost. And it comes with gigbag also?
  6. What is the scale lenght?
  7. Now all you need is a baby and somewhere to post it to.
  8. There you go All sorted. I periodically do the same. I have to make sure that the basses I have are all either earning money, or actually appreciating in value, otherwise they need to go out the door to be exchanged for pictures of the Queen. This plan usually works, although I recently got a '95 Stingray and having had some work done on it, it's rapidly become a firm favorite. My beautiful Am.Perf.Mustang is up for sale at the moment, too. It only did half a live tribute show, so it's a case of "Door"!
  9. 'Low end' equates to playing bass. Welcome btw. 🤗
  10. So an update a few months on. I have decided which I am keeping, simply because I'll keep the ones I'm using. I've use the Lakland live with a band called Thermions, for semi acoustic sets. It is solidly built, sounds great and looks great. The Gretsch is lovely in every way, but I haven't used it other than at home so I have decided to move it on. Note: I don't use my short scales so they will have to go, lovely though they are (I also have a supro) The Spectorcore is my Hellcats back up, It has been used for a gig and for rehearsals. Its nice and light and sounds great so its a keeper My peerless, I have already invested in and it looks cool. It's my 4 string "rock bass" and used for live informal work
  11. Hi Harlequin74, Yes it is, if would like to buy then pm me your details etc and we can sort 👍 Cheers Matt
  12. UPDATED: Price dropped to £220 This is a fantastic little practice amp that I'm only selling as I'm now using my son's amp in the rehearsal room instead so it's surplus to requirements. In good condition bar the paint on the bottom front corners that has come off at some point. It's mostly been sat on my desk bar a couple of occasions taking to friends house and is from a smoke free home if that matters to you. Selling with 'Poweradd Pilot pro 2' external power pack that fits under the handle for portability - if you don't want this then the amp will be £200. Welcome to try if seriously interested, message me and we can arrange. Payment preferred by bank transfer but will accept cash. All documents included but no box unfortunately so I won't be posting.

  13. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  14. 1 rack unit is gone so the only one left is the lower one in the photos. For sale is my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack case. The rack is currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U simply by removing some bolts and panels - 10 min job! You can also configure it so the top removes for mixers. The rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 / Board with castors - £20 / Both together £100. Shipping Extra EMS.pdf
  15. Here's me in 1967 wearing my "kipper tie", and playing my Burns Sonic Bass that I purchased second-hand for £15 from a mate's mate.
  16. Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated. I sent the pictures to my usual guitar tech/luthier and she said there’s a possibility it might be repairable but the cost might make it uneconomical. Also, I took those pictures in the break between sets, but the crack had gotten worse by the end of the second set. If nothing else else I’ve now got an excuse to get a new bass 😁
  17. To be fair, I haven't played (or wanted to play) a violin bass since 😆
  18. Nice. What basses have you chosen ? Is that a Sire Jazz in front ? Dave
  19. 👍 I'll count my pennies and let you know.
  20. Hi Ruari, it's not here, is it?

  22. What is the low end, price?
  23. Yup. I'm an aspiring songwriter and I'd have been pretty pleased with myself with a couple of those Rick Beato AI songs. I will definitely have to up my game. Rick showed a song that was nearly completely machine generated, but I can see people feed in their own lyrics, have the AI system generate the tune & harmony, then learn to perform it themselves, and it becomes a very blurred line between human and AI art.
  24. We had a reasonably musical family, my nan, mum and uncle all played piano but my uncle played keys in a band in that London, covers and a bit of a party band who did well in the late 60s/early 70s. when he quit, me and my brother inherited his Vox keyboard , AC30 head and a Selmer 2x12 cab . this was awesome and great fun , but a trip to Steptoes in canal street meant £15 was invested on a epiphone Gibson copy , and a rat pedal followed. this lead to some great noises from the garage, that not all the neighbours appreciated. However , Mrs Tristram next door was a touch more enlightened , and happened to mention that her eldest , Graham , had an old guitar that he wasn’t using and was in a box under the bed. And Lo , I became the owner of a late 60’s Hofner violin bass…with a broken neck socket , but hey , I was 17 , had my dads tools, and yes, a couple of wood screws put it back together. Having a bass at school was a novelty and thus I was seconded to play at all the assemblies and school shows. I moved on to an old Fender I think (that would probably with a fortune now , but was pennies or I wouldn’t have bought it) , that went missing as did the keys , amp and cab from a rehearsal room . suffice to say that my brother took on the violin bass duties at school and obviously corrupted @Leonard Smalls after his exposure to its subtle charms 😁
