  2. Be absolutely sure your potential dand mates have the same idea on what constitutes "acoustic" before you get too far into it. Many an acoustic guitar has been played at earsplitting volume ime.
  3. Have you had a change to play them yet? I've not really played DiMarzio, it would be interesting to get your take.
  4. Gigged with Fury several times about 10 years back, but that was before Becky's time. Great band. Even had to share sleeping space upstairs from a pub in Coleford with them! Becky's a good player and a great bass ambassador, and she's brought them some valuable additional publicity.
  5. My 400+ is poorly and needs to visit the Amp Hospital, it's tripping out the socket circuit at home 🫣. So, it is highly unlikely it'll be ready to go to the SW Bass Bash by 12th October. I wonder if anyone else has a 400+ that they could take to Taunton. Saying that, who's going to bring an 800D?
  6. So I got the amber LG3005 above from E Sharp and now have a pair of Roscoes. I've owned some wonderful instruments over the years and for me, this brand has been amongst the very best.
  7. It's good to know Fair Deal has responded accordingly.
  8. I've owned a 425x and a 2025x, and I've played a 1025x. the 1025x shares components including pickups with 2025x and has a similar/same sound because of that. I picked up a 425x as a gigging backup to the 2025x at a very good price, hardly ever played it but it was a worthy instrument and excellent quality. The 1025x is of similar quality to the 425x i.e. excellent as most Yamaha basses are but sounds different due to the pickups. Yamaha is generally good at differentiation of different levels of instruments and nailed it with this series. Each step up in price delivers a step up in what you get. The 1025x is the bang for buck instrument in this case especially if you can find a good one used in a private sale.

  10. I haven’t got anything booked in down south any time soon unfortunately
  11. Hate Song - The Haunted
  12. It's a Cort B4 Plus AS RM bass. Tested with multiple different pedals and amps, it repeats the same issue with all of them.
  13. On 'Electric Man' I played both my Squier Classic Vibe bass VI and Gibson Les Paul Standard, using a dunlop 1.3mm prime tone pick. The Bass VI was recorded into logic plugged straight into my focusrite interface, and I played the Les Paul using a tasty Fender Princeton model on my Fender Mustang GTX100 amp which was recorded via the GTX100's built-in USB interface. Logic's Scientific Method + kit was used for the drums. Logic's ES2 and RetroSyn, synths combined to make the pad sound using the cosmic departure and aurora borealis patches. Logic's Q sampler was used for the Lo-Fi Acid arpeggio.
  14. People who have two first names, eg Benjamin Sebastian. That gets really confusing when you read their names in a surname first list and then ring them up and call them by their surnames.
  15. In very good used condition, original box and candy included. Velcro on the bottom. UK postage included. Collection/demo possible here in London N21.

  17. Boss Dual Cube Bass LX, bought for a project (one gig!) playing bass Uke when it sat on a table and ran off its batts. Never used again since (Other than to test before sale). before you ask, no it won’t keep up with a Heavy metal covers band on a gig, but it is a decent practice amp and could be used (as I did) on small acoustic gigs or even a campfire jam if that’s your bag? With the addition of the Bluetooth adapter (not included) you can access the app and program the LX to your hearts content. Add a footswitch (also not included) you can turn effects on and off, starts/stop the inbuilt drum machine or start stop the inbuilt looper. This unit is in immaculate/brand new condition with all the packaging and candy - manual, boss PSU, mini jack cable. I’ll include UK postage in the price too. Any questions please ask.

  18. Just thought I’d add the weight - 3.6kg according to my bathroom scales.
  19. Man. About a month ago this was on my radar. None in London came up so when a genzler Magellan 350 combo came up I bought it. Always the way man 🙄. This amp has such a sweet tone. Don’t think the misses would appreciate me having two rigs for the house. GLWTS mate.
  20. Yes indeed, pair it with a 1x15” combo or a single 15” cab and you’ve got a belter of a setup.
  21. RAY CHARLES on what does it take to be a good Blues singer : Oh, well, that’s a great question, because you know, you can’t just say any one particular thing. First of all, let’s be honest about it, it’s important that one have a little talent, I mean, that, that would help, let’s face it. But I think that to have to be any kind of singer I think you have to have feeling there, and feeling cannot be taught. You can teach a person notes, you know, just like in music, you know, you can teach a person to play the piano, play an instrument or you can teach a person… they can go to voice school and you can teach him how to sing. But the one thing you can’t teach is you can’t teach feeling, you see and that is the key I think to any kind of singing… can the person, and what feeling is to make that they’re saying so real that you believe whatever they’re singing about must have happened to them because they’ve got so much feeling in their voice. The same as an actress who plays a part on the screen is so real you forget that’s it’s just a play, but you become so involved… to me that’s what feeling is all about, is to make yourself, whatever you’re singing about believable and of course I don’t think you can teach that. I think the person either has to have it or they don’t have it.
  22. Please include the whole system: bass, fx, amp.
  23. Yes, still available.
