  4. That’s it, though the way he wrote it gave the impression of American built. Not that I read it that closely!
  5. Everyone, especially the BBC, keeps going on about how"emotional" Lewis Capaldi's set was. Of course he was emotional! He'd just had his kebab wrestled away, been dragged out of the catering tent and forced to perform.
  6. Don't really need anything to be honest
  7. Sunday Celeste Good but she was a bit peeved that she hadn't been asked to play before. Came off as a bit arrogant. The Libertines Fine. Not that exciting. Left to see... Sprints A ruddy good band. Their set was energetic and tight. No notes. Brought in Kate Nash for a cover. Excellent tone from a Hagstrom Viking bass. Might have been my favourite bass tone of the weekend. Rod Stewart Bad. Really bad. Had to leave. He wasn't in tune, neither were his backing singers most of the time. Though I do wonder if their singing ability was the reason that they were hired. Goat Good at what they do, but after I think three songs and 20 minutes, I was bored. Not for me. St Vincent Wow. She really goes for it. A big performance, all executed perfectly too. Big stage persona compared to when I played on the same lineup 16ish years ago. Wolf Alice I really enjoyed them. I was looking forward to their set and they didn't disappoint. Olivia Rodrigo My wife really wanted to see her and I'm glad we did. She really put on a great show and it was a lot heavier than I as expecting.
  8. Tomorrow - James
  9. Rod was OK to be fair. I thought he did well and he looked like he enjoyed it which rubbed off on the crowd. I can't understand with a catalogue as big as his why he started with 3 ones that nearly lost everyone?? Then kicked into gear... Also, the interludes were confusing to say the least. Songs written and performed by other people originally now being sung by female singers whilst he was off stage?? And to bring on help when he needed a rest - 65 year old mick hucknell and 70 odd year old lulu! I thought Ronnie did great and he looked like he was loving it!

All the good things about smaller basses. And a minty colour! With matching headstock. Is there anything finer than a matching headstock. But I cannot keep them all. Price to your door.
  11. Hi. I’ve just had a Glockenklang 3 band put into my 2005 BB614 which I bought from Slapmonsta last Dec. He said prev owner Shepster had had the standard preamp modified to include a push/pull volume pot which pops the bass into passive mode. Apart from one older looking pot the shafts on the others look a lot newer with bright looking shafts. Spacing of the B,Mids, Treb pots on the board are 32mm and 32mm. The board says Yamaha QC87550 This is a great option because the Yamaha pickups have legendary power and passive tone. Note - there isn’t Tone control in passive mode but it’s a quality sound and you can blend the pickups for variation anyway. ** The only caveat ( which Slapmonsta kindly alerted me to ) is that with full volume in active mode , when you pull up the knob for passive the volume drops a lot BUT when you roll OFF the volume control just a little , the volume leaps back to match the full volume of active mode. ** None of us (owners) know why this is but it’s easy to roll off the volume. Priced accordingly and includes UK mainland delivery. I have another BB614/5 for sale like this ( another Glock mod ) which is Standard ( No passive ) so you might prefer that and it has the vol and blend larger knobs with it ( £30 inc delivery ). Cheers. Quent.
  12. Hi everyone. Update June 28th. Also now for sale , same Yamaha preamp QC87550 but with push/pull Passive option on the Vol pot - thats for £40 inc deliv, please see other posting for that one. Just moving this Standard preamp on at minimal price , kindly donated by Basschatter Lloydy when I bought his Pewter Beauty not long ago. Also fits a BB615, same 32mm spacing between the shafts on the board. Full working order before Lloydy replaced it with a Glock 3 Band. I include two original larger ( 20mm high 18.3mm diam and 6mm shaft hole ) heavy chrome knobs with new O rings in each. I havent got the full 20 yr service history but the Vol Blend splined pot shafts are 5.85mm outside diam but knobs tighten up OK with allen key. ( The Bass Mid Treb splined shafts are 6.0mm ) The fixed shafts on the board are 32mm centres x 2. The securing nuts and washers are there. Jack socket too. Photo now added. One split shaft crimped up - an ill fitting push on knob I remember - the two allen keyed chrome knobs included are from another BB614 I have ( bought some of those Hipshot lightweight ones from BD - £8 each! ) . So, £30 including UK mainland postage. Apart from seeing one pot is 500k on the photos I can’t help you with any other electronic specs. Cheers. Quent

  13. I thought that about Neil Young. I was wrong .
  14. I thought that about Neil Young. I was wrong .
  15. Thanks Steve. It’s a stunning example with just the one issue needing technical expertise. Hence me expecting a techno wizz to buy it OR someone with a luthier mate to sort it gratis. It’ll be a cracker once sorted. It’s only 2 ounces more than my BB614. Cheers 👍
  16. Saturday The Amazons I heard one track that I thought might be cool, so thought I'd check them out. 90% there on being great, but there's just an element missing. The songs had good elements, but perhaps needed a bit of producing to smoothing things out. Wouldn't watch again. Nice custom Jag bass with a wide range humbucker in the p position and a great tone. Also used a bass VI for a while, but I'm not sure why. Bess Atwell She's popped up on lots of playlists of mine. I really enjoyed her, but you won't find it on iPlayer because she was on Avalon. Japanese Breakfast Enjoyed this lot. There were a few songs in the middle that were a bit samey, but they came out the other end. The singer had a gong that she used for one song, and liked so pleased to be using it. Weezer These guys know how to do a festival slot. Play all of the hits, I was singing along to everything. 10/10 for me! John Fogerty We caught the end of his set after Weezer. For an 80 year old, he's great. Was so happy to be there, cracking band too. Blue checked Les Paul was on point. TV On The Radio I've been listening to this lot for 15-ish years, which is about when they stopped performing.oved seeing them live. Much heavier in person than on record. Lovely stuff. Father John Misty Oooof. You stepped into his world for that performance. He stayed in character for the whole gig. Top quote: "Is anybody here spiralling? Can I give you some advice? Disassociate completely. Works for me." 😂 Neil Young We knew his set was going to be self indulgent, but fu*king hell. Not every song needs a 3-5 minute jam on it. It was the quietest I've seen the pyramid all weekend. Really didn't work. Doechi Energetic performance. It was good, but not my cup of hip hop tea. A bit too over sexualised for me.
  17. This is a great build to follow. I understand the woodwork, after that makes almost no sense, but it's clearly going to very good indeed. 😎
  18. I'm as excited as you to find out, and lower the saddles. I need to get set up properly to work on it. Get all my tools in a row and make the bed to use as a protective bench. If I try now I'll attempt the only pozi I have handy, in some deluded hope that this time it wont knurl all the little screws until they have perfectly circular centre slots. I suspect it will be setup in the most difficult way to solve the pot issues, which is likely why it looked hungry in the pawn shop? edit: It had a dicky jack socket too but when eveything comes together is has the same sort of output level as my HB TB-70 on center notches. Since it has no ability to increase the the output like the Hb when you go above the notch, I suspect it is standard passive les paul. We should have a vote. The forum would no doubt give a substantial cash prize.
  19. They were excellent. I saw them about 15 years ago and it looks like they've lost none of their energy. I'd take being their guitar tech over being Matt Pikes, scraping the gut sweat of his guitars every night.
  20. Hi Folks, Flyht Pro 1U Rack Drawer 27.5cm wide x 25cm deep for sale. I bought this directly from Thomann as B-Stock and had overlooked its dimensions so I immediately tried to return it to them but they just issued me a refund as it wasn't worth the environmental impact of shipping it across Europe, apparently. I didn't even screw it in once during its time with me so it appears to be completely brand new to my eyes. Nice smooth action on the drawer. You're welcome to come and pick it up IRL from Petersfield, Hampshire, England or I can ship it to you for an extra £5 (which would be a total of £30). Happy to meet you somewhere local to Petersfield or arrange a fuel contribution from you if you need it driving a little further. Feel free to fire over any questions you may have. Cheers, B
  21. STILL AVAILABLE (buyer changed their mind) Hi Everyone, Selling this used, unboxed Aguilar Tone Hammer DI/Pre as I have ended up with an (ever so slight) preference for a different floor-based DI. This Tone Hammer was my go-to for quite some time and had an owner before myself so it does have signs of normal use on the front, sides and rear. It used to have velcro on the back which I've removed and have lightly white-spirited it to get rid of the sticky mess. There is remnants of an old price sticker on the back (the red lines) which I've struggled to remove so will ship as-is. I think it's the remains of a Bass Direct price sticker which I think is where I bought this DI myself in person. The DI is fully working, all the knobs functioning, LEDs light up, both foot switches work and I've relatively recently powered it via Phantom as well as mains. See pics and do please have a look at the wear and tear before firing me a message so that you don't end up disappointed when it arrives. The item is with me in Petersfield, Hampshire, England and I am happy to meet you IRL or post it insured, included in the total cost of £120. Anything other than a local pickup we'd have to figure out something extra in terms of chipping in on the fuel please. I'd be open to hearing about any budget-but-named-brand fretless basses or P Basses you might be looking to get rid of, cash from my direction. Thanks for reading! Happy to answer any questions. Cheers, B
  22. Well, the one nearest to where I live, and prefer out of the two, is simply described as an 'Edge' and is a kinda blue-green colour in the photo looking almost teal. For the £250 price tag I can't imagine it's terribly brilliant quality however the headstock says its made in Korea (by Cortek perhaps?)
  23. I'm still so tired. Only one day where I did less than 30,000 steps. Drove home after Olivia Rodrigo last night, in bed after a shower by 2am, then the cat was yelling in my face for breakfast by 8am 😴 I think all of the best performances were from bands who really wanted to be there. Those that seemed indifferent were just putting in sub-par performances. DISCLAIMER: All views are mine and are not an attack on your musical tastes! Friday Super grass Fine. They played well, but never got anyone really going. I think most people in the crowd (including myself) only know their chart hits rather than anything else, and the material wasn't exciting enough to draw people in. CMAT She brought it! I hadn't heard her previously, but her and the band were putting out fun vibes that had everyone moving. Wet Leg Didn't think they did that well to be honest. Seemed a bit boring. Just didn't draw me in, didn't seem that excited to be there or were too cool for school. I was so drawn in by their 2022 performance. This left me cold and I wish I'd gone up to The Park to see English Teacher instead. Lewis Capaldi Saw him in 2023 when he had to finish early. Didn't realise at the time, but it was a good performance. Have since watched the documentary and he seems like a lovely bloke. Very emotional set on a pretty packed pyramid field. Alanis Morrisette Banger after banger. Loved that Les Paul bass too. Biffy Clyro It was a really good performance. Would hate to be their guitar tech though. Changing out lots of sweaty guitars wouldn't be my idea of a fun Friday night! Maribou State Really interesting to watch. They had loved instruments to replace samples from their songs, great singer they brought in. Really surprised me how much I enjoyed their set. Chilled but upbeat. No notes.
  24. Late to the party but I think I’ve just made it, I wish Lee well for the future!
  25. Back in the land of the 02R, this Waves Y56K / ADAT card arrived safely from Japan this morning.. Thankfully I encountered no issues during installation and chose to make various Renaissance EQ and Compressor strings as stereo sub-group inserts. Gig and recording ready.. 👍 I've had good service out of these cards as there's one in both DM2000s, too. As I've probably mentioned previously, the sounds of the plugins are a little different - arguably, they have a little more character than the stock Yamaha ones. Both the 02R96 and especially the DM2Ks have more than enough processing to do pretty much every job that comes my way but the extra bells and whistles afforded by the Waves card is very welcome. 🥰
