LFSys and Barefaced Questions - Super Compact, Monaco and Monza?
cetera replied to Linus27's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have the 600W/8 ohm LFSys Monaco (with 12" speaker, port and tweeter) and it has more than met the requirements of various situations without any complaint or struggle.... Small rehearsals Large rehearsals with a 9 piece band Pub gigs Club/Arts Centre gigs Theatre gigs It is articulate, clean and punchy.... but handles plenty of low end and has excellent dispersion. Basically it can cleanly reproduce whatever you put into it... and I can also hear it clearly from over the other side of my drummer...! It's also lightweight and neatly proportioned and one of the best gear purchases I have ever made. Customer service is excellent and personal too as it is within this community. -

Steve Harris Maiden 50th anniversary pbass
cetera replied to christhammer666's topic in Bass Guitars
A cynical money grab that has nothing to do with Steve Harris in colour, pickups or hardware appointments. It's just a standard P Bass with a silver/mirror scratchplate. -
There are a couple of reasons for this though such as demographics and changing tastes. I don’t know many young people who listen to the radio, buy records or go to gigs by unsigned artists. They do seem to use social media and festivals with big names are a big thing though. Add in unaffordable housing, expensive transportation and food and all the rest and being a YouTube musician is probably more appealing than the traditional route to making a living in music. The overheads are low and the audience is online.

Yamaha CK-61. £490 Reduced to : £470 Excellent condition and perfect working order, with box and power supply. I bought this new about 18 months ago for £729. Collection from Chichester, or I'm in central London on Mondays. Or if you want it posted we can discuss options. I have a 61 key hard case that could potentially be added to the sale.

Everyone who has met him says he's a decent bloke. Everyone who hasn't can't stand him. Someone once told me "Have you ever met a hater doing better than you?". Think that rings pretty true in this case.

Fender amp grill cloth replacement
northstreet replied to Richard R's topic in Repairs and Technical
I've got a similar issue with my Rumble 100. It seems to be easy enough to remove the grille, it should come off just by pulling on that black fabric tab at the bottom right. As you say, it also seems easy enough to get some replacement cloth. What's put me off is the thought of removing and then replacing the many staples that hold the cloth in place - and making it look neat. If you do decide to have a go, I'd be grateful if you could share your progress - if it goes well it might tempt me into fixing mine. -
LFSys and Barefaced Questions - Super Compact, Monaco and Monza?
pete.young replied to Linus27's topic in Amps and Cabs
The LFSys cabs are probably better compared with the Barefaced Big Baby 3. The Super Compact is a single-driver cab, unless you opt for the optional tweeter. LFSys cabs have a crossover and high-mid range driver which the Super Compact lacks, but the Big Baby 3 has. I have a Monza and it goes very loud. Unless you need a large amount of volume, you should probably be looking at an LFSys Goodwood too. -

I bought this new in April last year, using it briefly before discovering GR Bass. As such, everything is in mint condition and I still have the original boxes too so shipping is an option. This is an incredibly versatile amp, so much so that I couldn't possibly run through everything it can do here. There are lots of video reviews worth watching, but I am going to guide you to our very own Dood's review here, which gives a good deep dive into the amp. Boss Katana 500 Bass Head (£734) Boss BT-DUAL Bluetooth adapter (£45), so you can adjust settings on the fly via the app Boss GA-FC pedal (£99)l, again, for ease of switching in a live setup Boss VE-22 Vocal Processor Bag (£74), a perfect fit for the amp, power lead and a couple of speaker cables I’ve added some pictures taken today but forgot to add proof of ownership. Hopefully folks will know I am a stand up guy on here and save me the effort of retaking the pictures.

Intensely irritating plonker. I'd watch Danny Seppuku though.

From the original post. So there is no need to consider impedance mismatching, or a foot-pedal tuner to switch off the sound because these are already built-in to the on-board preamp. I've just done live sound for an event which involved several bedroom acoustic players. The biggest issue I had was people leaving their tuners switched on , and not realising that it mutes the signal from the guitar. A talkback mike might be worth considering for the PA guy.

You could use a mic splitter/combiner so you could feed both the PA and a Behringer P2. https://artproaudio.com/patchbayssplitters/product/282112/splitcompro

Interesting... I've always found them a bit thin and scratchy sounding. Unless I'm thinking of a different Behringer SM58 knock-off.

Vocal Microphones, what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use
BBC Sound people often prefer the XM8500, if given a choice between the two. I suspect it is easier to EQ for radio/TV sound. -

Aliwobble replied to bassace97's topic in Amps and Cabs
I very much rate the Eden d210xst. That's why I've kept it all these years. I have tried other cabinets, including Markbass, Mesa etc. But I keep coming back to the Eden. It is a bit on the heavy side, though. -
