My really nice Fretless Bass with a solid Alder body, Maple neck & a beautifully figured Slab Rosewood lined fingerboard, plays like the proverbial dream and sounds great with oodles of mwoarrrrr. In excellent condition with just a few light play marks. Suitable for either the seasoned Fretless player, or due to the low action and fret lines this would be excellent for a beginner or an inexpensive way to try a Fretless if you’ve always fancied one, but didn’t want to spend a lot of your Great British pounds in case Fretless is not for you. Set up really nicely with a low action all the way up the neck, a lovely rich ‘woody’ sound & the bridge pickup provides instant Jaco when required, otherwise it can be played without the Mwoarrr. Nice and light at 3.7kg or a tad over 8lbs in ‘old money’ according to my digital scales.The lines thankfully extend over the sides of the fingerboard making intonation a doddle, even for an old duffer like me. Hiero BEAD v3 - £225 - a well-regarded take on the Brassmaster (Hiero sold this in a brown paper bag, which is included, rather than a box) Dunwich Volt Thrower - £300 - sought-after RAT-type pedal (no box). Damnation Audio MBD2 - £180 - versatile distortion in a smaller format than the MBD3. COG Custom Solid Snake Blender - £90 – similar to an LS-2 and is configured so that the pedal can either run the A Loop, B Loop or A+B Loops. It also has phase switches. It is the bass equivalent of the Girl from Ipanema ..... each one it passes goes 'aaaaah' That is all sorts of lovely. If it ever goes on the block the little pants-off wrestling scene our Lancy friends have got going on might spread worldwide. Well, down South at the very least 🤣

For sale is the absolutely fantastic GK Plex preamp. The amp sims and EQ on this are absolutely second to none, so if you like the Gallien Kreuger sound this is really good, is also has a great 4 band EQ and each EQ button can be pressed for a different contour effect with 2-3 levels of boost/cut on each (bass boost/mid scoop/hi cut/presence), so the tone shaping options are massive, and it’s really hard to get anything resembling a bad sound from it. It also has a very good compressor which is fully alterable rather than just a one knob job you get on a lot of preamps, and 5 levels of drive which I only used the lightest one, and really liked. Also a headphone amp and tuner, DI and 1/4” out, runs on any 9v pedalboard power supply These are £519 in Bass Direct, it’s a top quality preamp, it’s in a very substantial metal housing. I was going to put it up for £275 but checked what I paid on here and it was £225 posted and so in the spirit of the site that’s what I’ll put it up for. I’d prefer to keep it but as much as I like the GK sound, it’s not what I really need at all for the stuff I’m playing currently - no doubt at all I will have another one at some point. Possibly do a deal with a Genzler Magellan Pre or an AK Fake Plastic Trees (with appropriate adjustments), or you’re welcome to try me with what you have but I’d much rather sell it £225 posted - comes in the original box too
