Cost me about £350 back in the day and was the core of my board and IEM setup for a number of years. Essentially it’s a 2 channel mixer with a DI, balanced and unbalanced out for the bass. With a 2nd input for an IEM feed, this input is switchable mono/stereo. So basically allows you to take a really great FOH signal or utter trash. I use to take a passive feed out of the back of PA speakers. There is then a thru for you to pass this feed on to other band members and I’ll include a 4 channel Behringer Headphone mixer (that currently I can’t find the 12v adaptor for) and you have an all in one IEM solution. So you have a control for the bass volume and the feed volume. Allows as I saw above to just grab anything from FOH and you’ll always be able to hear yourself. I do the same now with my Darkglass Anagram and in a pinch Element. Open to offers and as above will chuck in the Behringer 4 ch headphone amp and 2 pairs of 🤷🏻♂️ KS10’s (without tips for hygiene purposes) to give you a full wired simple IEM rig for those wanting to try it all out. Can also be used as a headphone amp with a Twelve South Airfly to add Bluetooth. This was made about 15 years ago so to me is noisier than I would like and the pots can be a bit crackly, but I’ve never sprayed any switch spray in there. Just part of my never ending clearout.

After a rethink on moving on the H90 and a recent Bassrig purchase, this re-jig is working out very well.

A few years ago now, but do you remember how the Streamliner 900 went in comparison to the D800+ and D800?

Good call. I fondly remember a session when I ran my MB200 with a totally ordinary Precision and a beaten rehearsal room 4x10; with everything at 12 noon on the amp and both knobs on the bass up to 10 it was one of those "damn.. that's the sound in my head" moments. Just a great blues/rock tone with a bit of drive but not overdriven, plenty of mids and presence but not harsh. Had a truly enjoyable few hours playing middle-of-the-road rock at reasonable volumes, but sadly the project went nowhere and with the gain/volume on that amp working as it does, I couldn't get the same sound at the somewhat higher volume I need for the bands I actually play in. So for me, it's the SansAmp BDDI v2. The original was good into the front of an amp (and saved the day direct into the PA a couple of times), but since the v2 came along with its mid controls I can just set my sound up on the pedal and throw it straight at the PA. It might be reaching to call it a signature sound, though. Techs seem to like what I send them, but to quote the guy a week or so ago - "Yup.. that sounds like a bass.. which is good!"

Yep - that’s been one of my bugbears with it. I tried to do a 4-cable effects setup, and having to plug in and use the footswitch to switch it in and out just adds to that copious amount of floor spaghetti. As well as the input gain thing, the tacky rack ears with the squished text, and the non-padded gig bag with no shoulder strap!

the circles you are moving in are the issue , try to insulate yourself from bad influences, turn yourself around and you should stop tying yourself in knots

Same used to happen to the telephone handset cable. Not from getting up and walking in circles but from mysteriously picking it up and rotating it between the phone, your ear, and putting it back. If you often put the bass down you have another possible source of the dreaded twizzle. BTW, it sure looks like a bad case of cable mismanagement by someone who coils one way only and thinks they are doing great.

Fretless jazz with flatwounds. 100% neck pickup, 0% bridge. Tone knob set right round to the most mellow. GEB7 pedal with the lowest band set very low and the rest in the middle position. A clean amp with the EQ set level across the bands.

Bridge pick-up on my Sterling 34HH through a Nux Sculpture compressor, Ampeg SCRDI, Sine HPF (40hz) and into the FX return of a Peavey Minimax 600 and thence into a pair of TE 1x10". I've been using the same combination for several dep gigs now as I'm very happy with the sound - punchy with a little bite and enough room to colour the tone with variations in right hand finger (and pick) techniques. I use the same signal path but DI directly from the SCRDI for my main band although I sometimes need a wider range of sounds and will vary the pick up combination and occasionally the Sterling's tone controls. Both set ups have received compliments for the sound from band members and audience members.

I've had my B2A for 40 years as I bought one of the first ones to be imported. This looks like an elegant mod, however I'm not sure what problem it is fixing as I've never had any tuning issues the half-dozen or so times I've had to tune it. -

My signature sound is to play everything slightly out of tune and out of time. -
