  2. I disagree because I believe i can hear a difference, even on the clips Andy Baxter puts out. If there wasn’t, are all those professionals who play them live and in the studio putting up with the maintenance and potentially devaluing their asset for nothing? if you do believe it’s a placebo, more power to you because you can buy a much nicer instrument or custom shop copy for a lot less.
  3. Breakfast At Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something
  4. This is my favourite bass drive pedal, but I just got an Anagram so needs to go. It's a Rat based pedal, designed to emulated Justin Chancellor's tone. Comes with original box, price includes UK shipping.

  6. Corrected myself.
  7. "Rubberband Girl" - Kate Bush a bouncy song and bassline
  8. If I recall correctly, the BBVI is the BB1600 for the Asian market, I’m sure someone will correct me sooner rather than latter 😎🤘
  9. "Happiness Is Easy" by Talk Talk is very good RIP Mr Thompson
  10. Agree, your browser auto-completed the password. G4M are still going - I ordered some bits from them a few weeks ago.
  11. Breakfast at Sweethearts - Cold Chisel
  12. Singing last night in Patterdale in a concert with the community choir. Mostly American Song Book stuff and musical theatre.
  13. I’m Eating in Bed - Cardiacs
  14. Breakfast In Bed - UB40 and Chrissie Hynde
  15. I've found a few open Mic nights this eve on your rec and so I'll be checking them out in the next week or so
  16. My brother In law is a drummer and we've jammed before and I spent months looking for guitar players and a singer which we did eventually find but after one jam he backed out sighting life issues and the other three just fell apart sadly
  17. Swallow It - Brandon Flowers
  18. Are there any open mics or jam nights near you? Would be worth exploring if there are. Also, are there any rehearsal studios around by you? They're worth checking out for adverts and putting your own adverts in. Bassists are generally quite in demand, almost as much as drummers.
  19. Very nice. And, fortunately, sold (not to me).
  20. Basic personal hygiene - bath or shower at some point in the day before going to audition. If you're nominally clean-shaven, shave too. And make sure your clothes are clean. From the "auditioning them" point of view, work out whether they're roughly as competent as you. A bit better is fine, it'll pull you up. A little worse should be OK, especially if you can pull them up. On which subject, work out whether criticism can be given and taken if you can.
  21. No, your browser auto completed your password for you, the web site certainly didn't, otherwise what would be the point of having a password? So maybe in the time since you last ordered you have either changed your password on some other device, or put it wrong on that computer or they have auto changed their passwords a while back, but either way it sis wrong. But no, no trouble ordering with Gear4music last time I did it which was last month.
  22. Well, I am sure it isn't easy to accidentally release them. I am not a dingwall fan, but they do put effort into their custom hardware, so I would imagine they have thought it through completely. I don't want one anyway, as i have been put of dingwalls, but like to see a bit of innovation where it happens.
  23. Bad Taste In My Mouth - The Kooks
  24. Yesterday
  25. Sadly that sounds closer to my wrongo than the bongo!
  26. I couldnt live with that headstock at all. But then luckily they have a string spacing I cant get with so its not an issue. They are great, had a tribute 2500, but sold it when I was trying to downsize, would have another one in a shot, for me it would be like a functional P bass.
  27. I think they would hit the mark pretty well if the person playing was blindfolded. I have heard many vintage fenders, some are great, some are dogs, most are pretty good (I guess most of the bad ones have been thrown away in the 70s), but if you didn't know it was a vintage fender, it wouldn't sound special either way. They sound good to some because they are being listened to with their eyes and heads. Youre paying for a rarity not a sound.
  28. Same here - the original cheapy ceramic pickup had got me through two gigs and two rehearsals so far and it was ok-ish. Not amazing but no horror stories and it’s a very cheap bass anyway. But soon as I soldered in the Tonerider and plugged it in - massive improvement to the sound, articulation, clarity, detail. Everything really.
