  1. Past hour
  2. Yes that might just work 👍 I missed the original post so I'll tag a couple of other "locals" who might be interested @Yan_Huriey@jig@ToneFree@woodyratm Yes I did a couple of charity gigs and a number of jam nights with him. Lovely guy and very talented. When he came back to Aberdeen he played in the Gerry Jablonski Band with our very own @jig

  4. The 99° degree weather was not good. Daryl
  5. Only 2 of my electric basses ( and an acoustic bass and a viola da gamba) have those. I find they make things more difficult tbh. We are!!! Don't go!!!
  6. Sit down. Eases the problem with weight and you're closer to the floor so better chance of reading the setlist and seeing which patch you're on.
  7. Did you do the Burn era? IMHO one of the best Rick albums ever and the best DP
  8. Yes but your taste levels in this photo veer more “normal” than “guitard-deviant”
  9. Apparently according to the description it has 20 frets. Do they come in a separate bag? If you happen to have another neck, its fine for £1.75!

    PMT

I have fond memories of trying a red classic 50s p bass in pmt Leeds and slightly less fond memories of having to decline
  11. It’s still here @Geek99
  12. I really enjoyed the set, a fantastic back catalogue of Police and solo Sting material to choose from, three damn good musicians, dressed in just jeans and tee shirts (no fancy stage clothing), no backdrop, just their back line and stage lighting.
  13. Hi there, Dropped you a message...
  14. Well, it came across as sarcastic, but I stand corrected.
  15. Almost tempting for £1.75. If it was a 5 I'd have it. £15 tops though. TBF, it's Ebay's definition of "used", and Ebay's boilerplate description text.
  16. Sorry - my sadism gene is malformed i did think however that it might be fun to prank future archaeologists by using an axe to cut off their feet and put them near their heads so that maybe the archaeologists could form a theory of the feet being somehow involved in the afterlife journey
  17. The USB device I got from AliExpress was generating lots of extraneous noise so I returned it (instant refund). I'm trying a Behringer UM2 instead which seems more promising.
  18. It really is a bit of a brain-melt moment when you’re browsing through Amazon Prime for something to watch and you happen across a Jeff Beck live video with the guy you who hosts your jam night playing in the band - the amazing Nicolas Meier on guitar! Mind blowing stuff!
  19. What are you, an amateur? You make them dig the hole first, man. Jeez....
  20. By the time I was playing gear costing £1k plus I had discovered bass chat and was able to trade my way through some fairly nice gear. I might have saved a little money had shops stocked similar instruments to try first but there’s just so much choice out there even the likes of bass direct, bass bros and the bass gallery can’t stock it all. I did try a very nice Dakota custom shop jazz bass in a PMT once. It was a thing of beauty but the £2.5k price tag was a little heavy, and I do wonder how many of those high margin/ high cost items they tended to sell in stores vs online.
  21. Absolutely brand new, bought to replace my Behringer P2 as it’s got the mono/stereo switch on the top and it’s passive. Well turns out I get such crappy IEM feeds I need the boost of the Behringer and I’m moving over to a wireless system anyway. XLR/TRS/TS in, 3.5mm out with volume control and mono (dual mono) and stereo switch. I was taking anything the FOH could give me and then running the 3.5mm out into the aux in of the Element to give me a little 2 channel pedalboard mixer.
  22. Just don’t mention them. It saves on tar and feathers. And matches and shovels. And time spent digging holes in remote locations
  23. One of my favourite flyrigs. I just don’t use it. Basically a boost, big muff, ampeg amp sim and a Boss OC2 clone. It’s the same octave circuit as the Sonicake Octaver and Valeton OC10 which if you’ve seen my octaver comparisons nail that OC2 tone. DI out and fx loop, honestly if it had a tuner it would be perfect. But it doesn’t and I cover most of my gigs with the Darkglass Element
  24. To repair my road-side Thames 15cwt van breakdown, I took the London rush-hour tube with a six-foot long greasy, grubby, smelly prop-shaft in my hand, to get to a breaker's yard. No-one objected, and I had plenty of space all around me, both there and back. I don't think a bass would cause any issues.
  25. Bought recently mainly to scratch the itch and record some videos with it. Great condition and full working order, no box and no instructions, Velcro on the bottom.
  26. Absolutely. I would say just if anyone else needed it there’s rarely harm in using the overheads. After six string guitarists*, there’s nothing worse than the bags on seats crowd on a heaving train. * A joke before I get torched
