  1. Past hour
  2. It’s my irrational prejudice, if you don’t like it I have others. Oops, sorry. Never eard of ‘em.
  3. This is making progress. They're giving a rough estimate of US$750 for a tailor-made bag to fit my bass, and in a custom colour. On top of that I'm looking at US$125 for shipping, and then at UK duty & VAT, so we're heading back towards UK£800 overall, but that's for a custom build. The conversation continues.
  4. I don’t really have a problem with her - it’s his faux outrage that I find irritating. And increasingly common all over social media.
  5. I have just ordered this beauty from Thomann: Bought from money I got from the Boss GT-1000CORE I just sold. Top: Spruce Back and sides: Sapele Bolt-on neck: Okoume Fingerboard: Purpleheart It's an Ibanez TCY621-BOT. I don't own a proper guitar and no Western guitar at all, but always loved the sound of the latter, and is a big fan of folk music. And listening to demos it sounds great, despite its smaller body, and the pickup sounds great as well. Should have it Thursday or Friday. Will post an update when I get it.
  6. Never thought about playing it, but it sure is a great show and a great soundtrack. Saw it with the wife a couple of years ago, downloaded the soundtrack and then accidentally played the opening number in the car with the kids (9 and 5 at the time) - they loved it. We do have to bleep out the STFD bit every time though! And we had to be a bit careful explaining the story. Maybe I'll try and find some tab...
  7. It just proves how gullible Joe Public really is. As we know from being performers of various levels of ability, Joe Public just likes a nice tune, usually a nice tune he knows. It doesn’t matter if you’re terrible or amazing. They don’t know the difference. You can have perfect technique, sound and chops. It doesn’t matter to them. You can have the most horrendous technique, terrible sound, and no chops and they’ll still love it when you play something they know. They’ll love it even more if a young lady flashes some pretty flesh. How’d you think Stock Aitken & Waterman made so much moolah in the 80’s? I always remember the two old hecklers at a Thursday night Jam in Carlton, Nottingham several decades ago. If you were good they’d shout, “Play something we know!” If you were truly awful, it’d be “Play something YOU know!” As for Sapko, it all makes me wonder who is taking the urine out of who. After all, he’s making YT money out of hot air and fake outrage. Good luck to them all, I say. I’m off to watch Hoovie’s Garage. “Wiiiiizard…”
  8. Sure, dude. Aren't you the guy who will not attend gigs if over 30 people are there? 😂
  9. He (and the rest) are exaggerated personalities because that's what works online. (If you're being pedantic, you'd also suggest he changes his website because he claims to be "European Bass Player of the Year 2020" – when in fact he only won an online competition.)
  10. I was actually very impressed with the range of DB gigbags these people sell, and their prices are really keen, so I did some digging. Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. Oh dearie, dearie me. It's apparently a tiny music store in Thessaloniki, up near the Macedonian border: Papafi 91, Thessaloniki 544 53, Greece if you want to check them out. Their FB page comprises endless photos of the same guy playing solo sax in different settings: https://www.facebook.com/drumlandsound/ Am I interested in sending Loadsamoney to Stavros? I am not.
  11. No we haven't. Those of us who can just get on with creating, and don't bother getting worked up over fake internet outrage.
  12. @BassAgent, there are two "interesting" vintage Jazz Basses on Zikinf at the moment: Jörg's personal 1965 in Germany: https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-2397384 A "naturalised" 1965 in France: https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-2432484 I guess you already checked Bassic.de too... Worth checking Japan too as the Yen is very low.
  13. Yeah they look nice
  14. Yeah over the years I've had Warwick Carvin ACG Status all 6 strings Should have really kept the Status that was nice not to heavy and had a great neck I did see a dingwall ng3 6 strings On eBay but it's not what I'm after
  15. It's disturbing and worrying that genuine musicians seem to have given up when it comes to defending the art of playing and writing songs. Sad day/times.
  16. I should probably do that before it's too late...
  17. There is a Sire 6-string lefty. Quite pricey by their standards. https://www.andertons.co.uk/sire-f10-left-handed-6-string-natural-satin/
  18. Whoops: https://motomusic.co.uk/collections/bass-guitars?filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&sort_by=price-descending&view=grid
  19. If you have to run up the white flag, Moto Music have some quality reissues and 70s basses for more reasonable price tags. Or do what I did and get a Flea jazz for 90% of the experience for 10% of the price.
  20. Well, I have a wonderful investment opportunity my friend, Mr Ponzi, is currently working on...
  21. Fair enough, I did just skim the Sapko video, I find his quirky youtuber personality schtick grating.
  22. I think just you playing the autoharp will do for starters Jack.
  23. 180 pounds? Blimey, another celebrity on Mounjaro Ps, quickest bump ever!
  24. That's a great sound!
  25. Very decent piece of rack gear, equally suitable for studio or live use (I've used it both ways). The two multi-way cable clips on top are there by self-adhesive stuff and will remove. I found them useful enough to choose to leave them there for the new owner. The original box is present, as seen in the photos, but not the polystyrene inserts. I'll use bubble wrap for postage. Original spec: https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=0602-AAI
