  1. Past hour
  2. This is of zero use to me so any sensible offer will be considered
  3. A bit of paper or beer mat will do at a pinch but I'd rather have the matchsticks.
  4. Damn! Love it! I'll do it!
  5. Saw them in a pub in Swansea late 80s, I think. 😀
  6. Hey mate. Keen for this! And I’m in Bristol. Happy to collect. Let me know. John
  7. He played it live by playing the notes in reverse order. It was such a signature part of the song that he finished up playing it twice.
  8. i've owned 2 fretless basses in the past but never used them live, the first was/is a Aria cardinal medium scale that a previous owner had de-fretted, I never used it so i had the frets put back in, (i've still got this one as it's a YOB bass and i really like it), the second was a squier fretless jazz that i took as a trade for an amp, It never left the house so i traded it for a squier mustang. at some point i'm sure i'll buy another fretless but it will probably not get used and be sold on (i'll not learn!) Matt
  9. absolute class. Love it I'm so pleased for you all
  10. Trace tone you can lift comfortably. Handles a low B with ease.
  11. Thanks! Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody.
  12. Listen to Angie - fretless WHITE COLLAR FRAUD 2012 by RR on Bass on #SoundCloud https://on.soundcloud.com/PiYWo5LIhTeTgiXOGq This is a recording made maybe in 2010 on my fretless Kramer. It was quite a cheap bass when it came out but good quality for the price. In recent years I have upgraded the wiring loom with a Kiogon made version and it's given the bass a lot more Welly.
  13. Happy - Pharrell Williams
  14. This is a FB comment I got from my local luthier and multi-instrumentalist who attended one of my band’s gigs on Sunday. I really respect his opinion on all things musical. I think it demonstrates how good a single Monza is. “Patrick T R O'Brien. Bass sounded great down the room - really fat in the low end and punchy. Great sound from such a small rig. Sounds much bigger.”
  15. Following enquiries, I made a wee silent video of me assembling the bass and taking it down again, all sped up.
  16. I did. I wasn't sure if that was for the whole thread or just the post. I'll keep an eye on that in future. Surprised it's taken me this long to notice it if it's a known foible.
  17. Ooops..double post!!
  18. I'd have to ask friends who were at Live Aid but at the Mandela concert there were tarps covering the pitch.
  19. Did you have the rogue pictures imported (in the bottom panel) but not specifically inserted into the post? If you do that then the pictures get appended to the end of the post as presumably there's an assumption that you want to use them.
  20. That is the sound I want!! Mental note made. Lovely stuff.
  21. Cheers, I'll keep that in my back pocket, if organic* progress halts. *minimum effort
  22. You Got It - Roy Orbison
  23. You could try supporting it by the body and the headstock and resting something reasonably heavy on the neck.
  24. Roderick bought a valve preamp DI pedal off me. Clear comms, super friendly transaction. A1!
  25. Give me a bassline or tune to listen and I'll try it for you.
  26. bugger..i only have cash.
