  2. You’re making great progress, Gareth! I’m moving at a slower pace, just about to start Exercise 5. It all sinks into my brain and fingers more easily on my 4-string, but I prefer the sound of the fretless 5-string, and that gives more opportunities for fingering. I haven’t done them on one string only…. Keep going! And let me know of any problems that lie ahead 🤔
  3. I received a brand new bass from Andertons this week, no cosmetic issues but the battery was dead.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I will contact them. It was all packaged up like new so I don't know if it's been on display but it was not advertised as B stock.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I put in some fresh batteries and it worked so the ones in it were dead - perhaps the circuit was left on from the factory. Aside from the damage the bass does look good for the money. I noticed Andertons don't have any more in stock so I wonder if they will repair it? I'll ask them. 😊
  6. really interested in this ill message u
  7. It’s a shame but ultimately it’s a big old thing the double bass and it’s going to get superficially damaged when using it. My 1930s bass has damage similar to this and it’s characterful.
  8. That's not good for a non B stock instrument and dead batteries is another no-no. Anderton's are really good guys, raise it with them and I'm sure they'll sort it soon as.
  9. I should but I make more progress on the fretted and for a very long time that's been incredibly rewarding. When I'm doing my drills I usually feel the same way people do when they mediate. I tend to pick up the fretless after I've had a good couple of hours and I want to mess around, you know?
  10. Hi all, I’m after a single vintage style bridge saddle for a roadworn jazz. Doesn’t have to be ‘roadworn’, but nickel would be good. They’re not listed on Fender’s site and the only ones I can see are on eBay, reverb etc and are in the US. Also they appear to just be the saddle and I could do with the grub screws, screw and spring as well ideally. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get hold of one? Thanks in advance

  12. Picked up a Fender Rumble 500 (2x10) last week. Had it out on a gig last night and really pleased with it. My other stuff is heads and cabinets and whilst it's mostly light and manageable it's a bit of a faff carrying it all in and then hooking it all up, so I wanted something dead easy and the Rumble hits the spot. Used it last night with no effects board just to see how it sounded and it was fine. I'll probably use the board in future for the convenience of a tuner/mute and the Thumpinator which tightens up the low end. Would have gone for an 800 but this thing is plenty loud for pub gigs so that would have been overkill. All in all, couldn't be happier since it's also like new and I got it for £450.
  13. Pink!!!
  14. So vet bills means the one that was being tried out will be available... So one more left and thats it!
  15. I totally agree with you @sean on point 3 in particular: if you couldn't write it out you don't really know it. I also agree on understanding theory, and I think that this can help to learn stuff faster because there's a framework that you can drop the structure into. I have to be careful talking theory in my band though because that's not a language that the guitarist speaks. He's still great though, just can't communicate with him in that way.
  16. @DS287 I was wondering if you found a satisfactory conclusion to this saga in the end? Best, Greg
  17. That definitely doesn’t look right for a new instrument, especially one not listed as B stock. Are you sure the batteries are actually dead? It might be worth trying a fresh pair first, just to rule that out / a wider electrical fault? As for the gouge on the fretboard, that shouldn’t be “normal” on a new bass. If it’s something you can feel easily, I’d say it’s fair to either seek a replacement or at least ask the retailer for a partial refund - especially since it’s a milestone gift. It’s reasonable to expect a new bass it to arrive in new condition. I’d contact Andertons, explain the issues clearly (photos help), and see what they offer. In my experience, they’re usually pretty good about resolving things.
  18. Other customers wanting to talk to me when I'm in a guitar store trying out basses I'm not going to buy 🙃
  19. TC Electronic Polytune pedal. Good condition and pre-velcroed! Price is £30, posted.
  20. Fantastic cab as everyone knows. I purchased new from Barefaced in 2020 or 2021, and since then it has left the house for a pathetic one gig only. Therefore has mostly just been part of the most over -the-top home practice rig. In great condition and sounds incredible. I've tried to show the only mark of note in one of the images. Happy to answer any questions, anyone near Faversham is welcome to come test it out Collection or meet up only please No trades please
  21. These were brought for an Ender 3 Pro which I no longer have. Bowden Tube Kit Its never been used and has a length of decent Bowden tube, a cutter that cuts at right angles (seriously very important, do not use a X-Acto blade), some springs and various Bowden connectors. Replacement Ender 3 Pro hot end Might fit other Creality printers. Free, just pay P&P, which is probably £3 for each. Thanks Rob
  22. I got one of these years ago and was thinking of going back to it. Problem was that the poles just didn’t stick. I used the best double sided tape I could find to no avail. Maybe didn’t get the old tape off? Anyone solved this…assume that it’s not only me that has had this problem. i use a bass max as well incidentally, which I’m pleased with although I still feel it’s a bit ebassy.
  23. EHX freeze pedal with box and power supply. Pedal is barely used, but still helpfully pre-Velcroed! Price is £75 posted.
  24. I saw this at the bash on Sunday, I used to have one. It's being sold by a gent that knows amps inside out (literally). This is a bargain gem. Good luck with the sale, Tony. It was great to meet you in Taunton.
  25. Soft cover for Fender Rumble 500 / 800 combo amps. Never used. £10 posted
