  1. Past hour
  2. Here is a set of lightly used Spirocore Solo strings. These are the same as normal Spitocores but are low tension. (Solo strings are at full tension a semi-tone up from standard tuning. When you use them in standard tuning they're slightly lower tension.) These are favoured by jazz players and sound amazing. I like to use the bow as well and these are useless for that, hence the sale. £105 delivered sound fair?
  3. Well you’re welcome to come and try
  4. No worries mate and you were right I should check. Hope all is well buddy
  5. But of course Jack ... you must have a pre-amp mounted to your bass right? In which case this is what you're getting: 5. Schatten Mini-pre into Joyo. Lush, perfect. But it needs that pre-amp! Move along now.
  6. The Blister Exists - Slipknot
  7. @Happy Jack boom! 10pts, you were right. Connected Joyo via a patch lead and female-female connector, it worked. @PaulKing boom! 10pts, I was right. Signal is shite ... (Jack ... I urge you to check what's reaching your amp! What are you missing out on??!!) Here's my test results, identical settings all round, Shadow piezo, open E, quarter notes plucked in same place, identical acoustic volume. Only variance is the connection to Focusrite Interface: 1. Cable (raw, no preamp) = totally shite. Sounds it too, barely audible, no bottom end. Look at total volume on right as well. 2. Schatten Mini-pre / cable = rich and full and awesome. Didn't realise it rolled off top end so much. 3. Joyo = better than raw cable, but barely. Almost no bottom end, weedy middy sound compared to Line6 and Cable/Preamp. 4. Line6 wireless = rich and full and awesome. Best signal of all!! Honestly, it was no trouble at all. 😉
  8. Bought for a spare pedal board a while back, but never actually got to use it much. Pretty much mint condition. £100
  9. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  10. It's not so much the desire to own lots of basses, for me. But I want to know what people mean when they talk about the feel or tone of a particular instrument. I've tried a Rickenbacker in a store but never really spent proper time with one, or a Warwick or Schecter or Spector or Bacchus or whatever. It's often taken me months with a bass to realise that it's not for me, and work out why but I've really valued the time I've gotten to spend getting to know some of the amazing basses I've been lucky enough to own over the years.
  11. Sorry, just seeing your message. The bass has now sold on Ebay.
  12. Today
  13. To be fair, the scales are old and not to be relied upon. It does feel more like 26kg than 14.5kg. Plus, it has a bigger output transformer than was fitted as standard, so that will add to the weight too.
  14. Well I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I've always wanted a little door in the back of my cab to keep my house-keys. Alex from Bareface if you are tuned in...please note!
  15. I’m not sure it looks stock to me. I know that there were a few hardware options open. The control plate is apparently a different size from the standard StingRay so not an easy replacement part to source.
  16. The neck is lovely, but the body wood, Mahogany I assume is very light with everything stripped off, and feels, frankly, like a bit of driftwood. Not exactly grade A timber.
  17. The neck is already undergoing treatment
  18. So I bought an SR506 for a very reasonable price from Gumtree, way less than the normal asking price…… thought I had a bargain…. However on picking it up, the reason for the low price became evident….. It’s been brush painted with some god awful wood stain, something akin to Cuprinol. The pickups and hardware all show traces of the stuff, so it wasn’t even masked up 🤦🏻‍♂️ Needless to say, challenge accepted and it’s already in bits…. No idea what those crazy compression marks are? Looks like someone went at it with a sander at some point…. The fun begins Watch this space
  19. Totally agree, very poor marketing and AI slop. Yeah my 4 string LTD is 35” and currently tuned happily to drop A. Si
  20. Hmmm.. fair! It all seems to be about fan-fret, headless 5 or 6 strings round these parts when I'm out and about at gigs. Maybe if they'd given this one a 35" scale and set it up BEAD out of the box it might have added something. At least two paragraphs of AI word soup, if nothing else!
  21. Interesting, never thought of that. Will give it some wiggle. I just compared, if anything Joyo is 1mm longer than standard jack, which means it'd just sit proud. And funny it was on BOTH piezos. Are you using a piezo then?
  22. I once bought a Jackson because I saw a guy playing it onstage and it sounded excellent. It was for sale, so I bought it. It played really nicely and had a great neck. But I just couldn't get on with that pointy headstock and it had to go. ....I'm so shallow.
  23. If I click on the notifications bell the pull-down appears but spins and shows no conent, but if I click on "View all notifications" it takes me to a page of links which works. I tried clicking on a "Like" (annoyingly in the "Daily Annoyances" thread) and it said "Sorry, there was a problem reacting to this content.".
  24. Yes, but I’d be very surprised they will want you to like your helix more when the want you to spend £1,500 on a Stadium?
  25. I used some old Picatos I had lying around but I don't think they make them anymore. These look good alternatives and they should be a good fit: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/la-bella-760fl-s-deep-talkin-bass-flats-light-43-104-short-scale/
