Don't forget that there's a buyer's premium which with VAT comes to a tad over 25%. And the seller's premium is similar, so the seller actually pockets about 50% of what the buyer pays out. And people moan about Ebay charge. -

There are some interesting basses if you scroll through their full list. https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/catalogue/lot/135be4c15f8b071ca793be3fc3888e73/63b778f7668dabe928d3800924a99077/the-guitar-sale-four-day-auction-lot-278/ I'd never play that one, but it has a certain quaint charm. And this is definitely a stage bass: https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/catalogue/lot/a68be14b572e9e7993cfb63bb1dc5076/63b778f7668dabe928d3800924a99077/the-guitar-sale-four-day-auction-lot-267/ -

I'm done. I'll aim to get it published later tonight. Expect organ driven jazz. Or something.

So with complete clarity I think this neck needs attention. Its a gorgeous 1991 P Bass neck in the beautiful maple / maple config. Stamped PBD '57. The neck is currently flat and straight, but there is little to no movement in the truss rod, it could be seized and just need a good turn, but I don't want to be the one to do that. I'm selling it at £100 in need of repair, but it could be absolutely fine in the hands of someone who has a clue. Any questions please ask, neck plate screws and tuners are all original and included. I am also selling the body to this neck and all of it's bits, I will do a deal on both items together.

Which one of the dozen or so? I can't help but think of an impressionist (can't remember who) who used to do Jimmy Savile saying "Showaddywaddy". That's a bit offputting. -

This is more of a feeler to see if there is any interest. My old Fender Telecaster Bass dates from 1972. The Basschatter who I got it from had the P bass pickup routed and the body refinished by John Diggins. When we exchanged it a few years ago it didn’t have the original Fender humbucker however I managed to source an original which I imported from the US. I added an extra original volume pot from the same era and sourced a 70’s Fender knob. It is wired like a Jazz bass two volumes and one tone. It has the three bolt neck with working micro tilt and a working bullet trussrod. The original finish was natural as there is a stamp under the mudbucker. The tuners, neck , frets and body are all original although I’m not sure of all of the pots and definitely not the wiring. The bridge had been swapped for a four saddle top loader job so I got a two saddle through strung with saddles that can be angled. More in keeping with the original but easier to intonate. The P bass pickup is a cream coloured late 70s vintage Dimarzio DP that sounds fantastic. The big humbucker has real sub bass to it and there are some classic tones to be had between the two. The Diggins refinish is intentionally worn with crazing however there are areas where the routing was rough that have been filled and touched up on the front. There is a larger buckle rash area on the back also touched up rather clumsily as the colour match is very poor. It protected the wood at least! My original intention was to take it back to a natural finish but I’ve not got round to it - as usual…. The scratch plate is a copy of some kind, when I got it the bass looked more like a Mike Dirnt Tele. My luthier cut out the area for the Fender humbucker. The ashtray is original and you can see the remains of the perished rubber mute on the inside of it. The bass plays well and is strung with Elixir coated strings. It is quite hefty but nothing like some of the Tele basses or other basses of this era I’ve played. It is around 4.7kgs. The bass in an earlier incarnation is pictured and described in the Haynes Fender Bass Manual. It’s a players bass rather than one for the collector. It could be restored to the original spec if you really wanted to but you’d have a one trick - albeit a good trick - pony. I’m reluctant to shift it but my P bass isn’t selling and having had some large vets bills recently I need to free up some cash. It is a rare opportunity to buy one of these old Telecaster basses at a sensible (I hope you think so too) price. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at cost. Sorry no trades. There isn’t a case with it but I’ll try and source one if you want it posting, otherwise it comes with a Fender gigbag. I’ll be sad to see this one go. I’ll add more pics if required. All the usual ID stamps are on the neck heel and pocket I would rather not remove the neck as they are a faff to set up with the micro tilt.

Genuine Fender P Bass body from a 1991 Japanese P Bass. 57' stamped in the neck pocket. Gorgeous 2 tone sunburst finish. A couple of really small dings and some scratches, but for a 35+ year old body, good condition. Comes with; Original 1991 Pickups (Will need splicing with new wire to increase length as someone has cut the wires quite short on the rear pickup (This looks like it had the ground wire soldered to the pickup plate rather than in the cavity), for this I will include some new heavy cloth covered pickup wire. Original loom and control knobs including all fixing nuts and washers. Original white pickguard with all screws. Original bridge and all screws. £300 shipped for everything. I am also selling this basses neck, please see the advert for that as it may not be without issues. Any questions please ask. Many thanks,

Hi all, I'm moving into a smaller flat soon, so I'm selling a large chunk of my music equipment. For this reason, I'm letting go of the following Rockboard pedalboards and mods/accessories. For the two bigger pedalboards, pick-up from Durham would be preferred, but shipping can be arranged. Pictures will follow this afternoon. Rockboard Cinque 5.3 with MOD1 and MOD2 and softcase - Mint condition, bought new last year to combine all my pedals on a single board, but due to size restrictions in my new flat, I had to opt for two smaller pedalboards. It's in really good shape and has only been on my desk setup at home, hence it has never seen a stage or practise room. It only lacks a tiny bit of paint on the underside around some of the screws, and actually was shipped in this state when I received it new from Thomann. It comes with a nicely padded, unused Rockboard softcase, and has currently two Rockboard Mods (Mod1 v2 and Mod2 v2) installed. I'd like to sell it as a package deal so I can keep the two mods installed, but please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in the board and softcase alone (without the mods). The board and softcase go around £215, and the Mods around £50-55 each, so the whole package would cost you around £315 new. I'm offering it for £240 all together (pedalboard, softcase, Mod1, Mod2) as a pick-up price from DURHAM (I can deliver it locally), or £260 shipped. Now £220 all together (pedalboard, softcase, MOD1, and MOD2) when picked up from Durham, or £240 shipped. Now £200 all together (pedalboard, softcase, MOD1, and MOD2) when picked up from Durham, or £220 shipped. Rockboard Mini Mod TRS - Nice little MOD unit that can be attached to every Rockboard pedalboard, given you a TRS in- or out jack. Happy to sell it with any of the pedalboards above for an additional £5. Rockboard Mod Brace - Stainless steel frame to give more stability to heavier Rockboard MOD units. Selling it for £12 posted. Any questions just send me a message. SOLD: Rockboard Cinque 5.2 with softcase - Great condition, I used this before upgrading to the 5.3. It's also in really good shape apart from one scratch mark on the back. When taking off a MOD unit, one screw got stuck and by removing it, I scratched the back a bit unfortunately. However, this scratch mark should largely be covered once a new MOD is in place. Other than that, it's in perfect condition. It also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. I'm selling it for £80 when picked-up from DURHAM, or £95 shipped. SOLD Rockboard Frame 5 XL Cinque - Can be used on both Rockboard Cinque 5.2 or 5.3 and substitutes one of the frame struts underneath. As it has a large cut-out, you can attach larger items (such as big power supplies) underneath these pedalboards. Best to google and see what it looks like to decide if it might be useful for you, but it was actually very helpful for me to mount lots of equipment (power supplies, DI Box, and so on) underneath my pedalboards). Selling for £16 posted. SOLD Rockboard Duo 2.0 with softcase - Great condition. I used it for a little headphone-based setup when travelling, so it has seen a couple of hotel rooms but it's still in really good shape. Also comes with a nicely padded Rockboard softcase. £30 when picked-up from Durham, or £35 shipped. SOLD

Tonerider Jazz pickups... how good are they really?
Allen replied to wateroftyne's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thank you for @Homatron @Hellzeroand @Geek99 for replies. I have now installed the Tonerider classic set along with new pots and wiring. As described, only minimal enlarging of the bridge position slot was needed, and the pickups do sound very nice so far. It will be a couple of weeks before gigging schedule starts again, so will report back on this more realistic test. Thanks again to bass brothers and sisters here -
I briefly (for 12 hours!) owned an SWR Studio 220 and a 410. The next day I took it all back to the Bass Centre and swapped it for a Mesa Boogie 400+ and RR 210EV which went nicely with my RR 115EV.

I still own & use SWR.. & shall continue to do so.
