Now relocated in the Strand Arcade, off Sadler Gate, as Foulds Guitars. There is also Hippo Guitars on Osmaston Road who buy and sell pre-owned guitars and basses exclusively. Worth a trip @Geek99.

Thanks I am a klutz when it comes to electronics and was a little concerned that I'd end up making things worse. I have Servisol, I have screwdrivers.. maybe I'll have another look. 😬🤞 I run mine on mains BTW.

I’ve been round both these blocks. i used to have the ‘one eye reading, one eye distance’ and, as only an occasional wearer, it felt like you were walking round in circles for 5 mins but the brain quickly compensates. I struggled with early ‘versions’ of multi focal lenses so went back to one short one long for a while. Recently they bought out lenses for astigmatism so I now have one for that and a multi focal and I can see so well I’m thinking of wearing them more often. Anyhoo, I can’t see without glasses so play in them if I can’t be bothers to put lenses in ( or we’re playing somewhere posh and it’s unlikely there will be a fight 😂). The bass player is the studious intellectual anyway so we look cool in glasses anyway?

I opened mine up and gave the inside of the switches a good squirt of Servisol (switch cleaner) no further problems to date. I run mine on batteries, I find that if the batteries are getting close to dead the switches don't work as they should. Remember these aren't actual swiches, which are in the electronics, they just send a signal that you want to change something and if the batteries need changing then you don't have enough power for the programmable to work Paging @Chienmortbb

I would ideally like one-band people, dedicated to the blues and backing us 100 per cent - no distractions. I only have room in my life for one band. We had plenty of gigs, but personnel instability had caused a slowdown. We aim to do more gigs and be more lucrative. People are willing to play for us, but they are already in bands. So while they rehearse, they don’t come prepared. This slows down progress, hence my frustration. Shuffling the pack constantly does so too, hence my wish to motivate.

Some other options: Use bigger writing. Get a tablet on a stand and pretend it's controlling an instrument. Investigate autocue.
-
Regarding specs, maybe ones with a heads-up display could be an option - they might even become a "look"!

I tried some varifocals spectacles and they were awful: the edges of my 32" 4k monitor became curved and I couldn't read things by moving my eyes but instead had to keep them still and move my head to read; I also couldn't use my peripheral vision. I really couldn't recommend them less.. As for contact lenses: I was recommended not to have them for astigmatism, as every time you blink you slightly shift them. I think that varifocal contacts would exacerbate that issue and you'd be looking at the world through a wobbly fish-eyed vision.

Fender precision bass 1971 Price 5000 euro
Steve Browning replied to gregorbass's topic in Basses For Sale
I suspect people will want far more information than that. Weight, nut width, maybe an assessment of fret wear. These would be the very least. My '71 also has the non-logo case. Apparently cases were sourced separately at the time. Lovely looking bass, for sure, but more information would help you reach serious buyers. I might also heed the scam warnings and put your username on a card and photograph it under the strings of the bass too. -
