  3. You certainly get some great gigs, Michael and that J sounds great in the mix to me. If it ain’t broke, don’t shoehorn a P in to fix it. P tones are where I’m at right now and have been for a fair old while. Having dabbled with a Mustang and a P, I’m back using my old custom Maruszczyk Elwood L, favouring the neck up. Feels like playing a comfy, old pair of slippers, whilst giving me the tone I want in spades (the pickups are split coils in J sized enclosures) and the potential for variation if required.
  4. Well then they really shouldn't be offended by my sailor mouth!

  6. Thanks. In other news, I'm currently trying to order some of the electric gubbins I'll need to finish this job, and generally raging at the electronics gods. Why is it that if you need, say, a 500k blend pot and two 500k audio taper pots, every shop will only have one or the other in stock, or they'll have both in stock but with different bushing lengths, or shaft types, or bushing diameters! Then when you finally find a shop that has an acceptably close-enough set of components, they don't have any barrel jacks, or knobs! Every time I place an order for guitar parts I end up having to buy like six small and inexpensive items from three or four different shops, paying as much for shipping as I do for parts. This is despite each shop, in theory, selling everything I need. As it is, I think I'm going to have to get the knobs, strap buttons and one of the two types of pot from Northwest, the output jack, other kind of pot and pickup rings from Armstrong and the fretwire from Tonetech.

  9. I just edited my post. I just didn't realise as a matter of fact... thnx anyway.
  10. They sound like a right bunch of pirates.
  11. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  12. The 1st gen Shure glx can be found for £200 these days (i got mine for this b.i.n on eBay a couple of years ago) Really can't go wrong with that!
  13. Love everything about it. But with car insurance renewal coming up, it's a bit out of my budget!
  14. Nice, GLWTS!
  15. We used the Pirate studio in Kinning park Glasgow once. When we went in the smell of cannabis was overpowering and we later heard that some folk rent a room for hours, take in dj equipment and get off their heads. Never again!
  16. We used to use Practice Sheffield, until that place closed down due to development. Honestly, my favorite rehearsal space is Playing Aloud in Lincoln. If we rehearse late in the evening on a weekday, we will go there every time. However, for half of us it is a bit of a drive... for our drummer it is perfect, as he lives in Lincoln and can pop in there to meet us immediately after finishing work. It is staffed by some really amazing humans. No AI bs.
  17. I recently came into possession of this preamp. Sans wiring diagram, and can’t seem to find one online. Did it come with any documentation you could pass on? I have reached out to Spencer and am waiting to hear back. Thanks for any help in the meantime. There is a paranormal rascal that needs parallel series switching and and this preamp in it stat. 😁
  18. I can arrange this. Please let me know where are you located.
  19. Now 590 GBP delivered to any door in Europe! Here is my Fender Precision 57 RI Made in Japan. N serial-FujiGen made around 1993. 42.3mm width at the nut, 4.095 kg. Punchy and powerful sound. Shipping to Europe included in the price. Any question please ask. Cheers!

  20. Sorry to hear your bad experience OP! We used to use pirate when they first started (Nottingham location) and for a while it seemed great - very clean, decent gear, plenty of availability - but it went downhill very quick. Their reliance on gimmicky ai customer service is incredibly frustrating and they don't seem to want to maintain their equipment. Take your business elsewhere! If anyone needs rehearsal space in Nottingham check out Stave Rooms 🤟
  21. Good evening... No, I've not listened to the linked track, as I don't, in general, click on links from sources I'm not sure of. Not to say that that link is not respectable, but, on this forum, it's usual to introduce oneself, post a little about oneself, and generally participate a bit to build up confidence in what is, after all, a rapport between complete strangers. Once you get to know some of us better, and we you, there is a much better chance of getting useful comments relating to all things bass. I hope this helps; meanwhile... Have a great day. Douglas
  22. I would imagine their public liability insurance would be void in that situation if they allowed any members of the public in the building, even to reset the alarm
  23. Ha! Truth is, I’d love to use a P for the earlier stuff, but as the guitar / keys lads have a lot of switching around to do, it’s left to me to do a lot of the between-song chat.
  24. Hi everyone. just a feeler here to gauge interest. These amps need little introduction from me - seen on stages all over the world. Effortless power and huge tone DB751’s are becoming more and more difficult to source so here is a chance to own one of the world’s best amps. Fully functioning and comes in a sleeve. Very good condition with a couple of marks on the sleeve but the amp is in great condition i will post but it’s a heavy beast Inly trade I would consider is a Genzler Magellan ( or kinetix) 800 Thanks for looking Any questions, just ask Cab is not included in price !!!
