  1. Past hour
  2. So it seems I've finally found the limit of my wife's patience, and I need to clear some space in our spare room! Gutted to let these go, they really are cracking cabs, and loud for their size and weight! Orange covers included. I've not had these long after buying on here, but my Barefaced cab didn't sell so I'm going to stick with that. Collection from High Wycombe, or I'm happy to meet up within an hour or so drive.
  3. Prodigy's Fire Starter in the style of a Military Waltz, perhaps..? 🤪
  4. I bought this recently but my plans have changed and would rather unlock some cash. In great condition, price includes postage. About: Convenient passive volume pedal that can also be used as an expression pedal. Message me if you have any questions.
  5. Any particular genre? I'm not saying you'll get it - it's more about me knowing how disappointed you'll be with my music taste!
  6. Good advice. If you look like you’re having fun, they’ll have fun.
  7. I did all the Idiot checks including changing cables, plugging directly into the amp, plugging into the fx loop, turning the amp off and on again, repeating the previous idiot checks etc 😂 but sadly all to no avail. So the amp just sat there with its two VU meters illuminated but unmoving, staring manically out into the audience whilst having an afternoon off.
  8. If you are intimidated by looking at the audience (if you can see them with the lighting), look out over the back row's heads. No one will know you're not looking at them and it looks like you're really confident. That's when your eyes aren't glued to the neck trying to work out where you are!
  9. What can I say about this pedal that hasn't already been said? Super cool and unique filter used by Flea and lots of other people. No other filter I've come across sounds quite like this little green beast, and it also does the famous "dub trick" of turning your bass into a subby monster by turning off the sensitivity so the filter doesn't open. It's been well used in it's ~30 year lifetime with a few bumps and scrapes in the finish, but all is working as it should. Somehow the notoriously "difficult to keep hold of" battery door is still intact on this one! No velcro, and rear sticker with serial number still intact also. Really cool pedal that I owned a number of years ago, and wanted to revisit it out of nostalgia! I've had my fun with it here at home, and now it's time to pass it on. Looking for exactly what I paid for it: £60. Add a £5er for delivery, or can be picked up from Ickenham NW London.
  10. Confession time I’d just learned it whilst waiting to go on and it was the only thing that popped into my head when the host pointed at me and said “bass solo!”
  11. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  12. Woof, nope never to old. Drop me a pm
  13. Just play a blues bass line. I picked the walking section from Cold Day in Hell - should be easy for a man of your talents
  14. Up for sale is my immaculate Funky Puppy. It's pretty much as new, with probably less than 2 hours play time on it and not even got velcro on the bottom! I used to own both Chunk Systems pedals (Brown Dog Fuzz and 00Funk Mk2 Envelope Filter) years ago, and wanted to revisit the sounds for nostalgia's sake. This pedal is a combination of both in one box, and sounds exactly as I remember them. Super cool to have the "Link" function on a footswitch (the original pedals had to be connected via cable through a dedicated link jack). The envelope gets pretty wild, and the fuzz covers everything from gated and synthy to fat and heavy. Combine an octave pedal with it, and you are in synth heaven! Only reason for the sale is that I have too much gear, and not enough time to play with it all! The Really Good Pedal Co. site will give you all the info re controls and specs. These are not being made at present (I believe the builder is taking a break), and if they were, you would also then pay shipping, import duty and VAT from Australia like I did, so I think I've priced this pretty fairly. Either of the Chunk pedals this is based on go for well over that alone! Asking £250 + postage. Based in Ickenham, NW London if you want to collect/meet nearby.
  15. That'd be nice. Thanks
  16. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  17. Maybe we need to run a wiki of some sort on routers, they are probably the most difficult power tool to use. It's much safer all round to only use them with a jig or mounted on a table. I have a 1/2" router that I use for cutting kitchen work tops and any big jobs I do like shaping architraving or skirting boards. I pretty much won't/can't use it freehand for anything I have router tables so the machine is static and I move the workpiece, I also have an ELU 1/4" router which has a bit of a soft start but even so you can't start it enywhere near the workpiece as it still needs a lot of strength and skill to manuvre. It's roughly 1HP so it's literally got a kick like a horse and routers operate at really high speeds so it's like guiding a gyroscope, it wants to go it's own way. I round all my edges with it in mounted in the router table and move the cabs. I'm wondering about getting one of the little trimmers for the odd small job.
  18. I can lend you a butter knife and you could go at it like Jaco, if you like.
  19. This is a superb performance from Robert Hurst. The tune is called 'Lament' and it is from the 1987 Branford Marsalis album, 'Renaissance'. I had this on CASSETTE - remember them!! The details are a revelation and spending some time with this transcription will give you material you can draw upon for the rest of your days. Mostly an easy enough read but there are some bars that will challenge the best of us. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/lament-branford-marsalis/
  20. Read up on it and we have been in contact with the ME Society currently on waiting list for the local ME Specialist team. But will take any advice - PM me
