  3. While it's good to hear that they are honouring obligations from before the bankruptcy, I'm a little miffed (with them, not you!) that you got sorted out for an issue from February, but I've heard nothing yet about my back order from September last year
  4. 250??? 250 !!! That is a score and a half! Looks to be american made, The R logo and serial would put it in the 80's for certain. All the switching options and knob design all point to the USA as well. I would put the pictures and details onto the BC rich Junkies page on facebook. There are people on there that could tell you what the builder's wife's cat was doing at 7 minutes past 3 there Thank you for sharing dude!! I look forward to seeing it on FB

They are still there, and have scaled back to concentrate solely on drums and percussion. Part of the former shop space has now gone over to the above mentioned Hippo Guitars. I didn’t know you had a Derby connection, Stub.
  6. Howl Long Has This Been Going On - Ace
  7. You can get spray cans of Matt finish polyurethane from Boyes in Kendal.
  8. Mona - Craig Mclachlan
  9. Diago PS-01 power supply, bought recently from this very forum. Surplus to requirements as I've refreshed my amp set up and am going pedal-less. Asking just what I paid for it.
  10. That name reminds me of Allstrum and Bangit, another vanished emporium methinks?
  11. I've owned a retail business. I think the best policy is either you refund in full or offer to repair at no cost. The buyer is responsible for getting it back to you in the condition it was sold in if he collected it in person. He's not entitled to a refund for inconvenience (how did he lose out, exactly?), he's just trying it on. He will probably complain about it, but then he'll probably also complain if you do what he wants. I think if you want to make a go of it as a business, you have to price accordingly. You can't sell a bass for Harley Benton money with botique luthier service. You also need clear t&cs that fit in with the law where you live.
  12. I played one of these in my local shop, a while back. I was amazed at just how nice it was, and surprised at how good the sound was, from the factory pickups. Nice mods - I'm sure the pickup is great, and Kiogon wiring loom kits are always top notch.... But that Tort scratchplate instantly makes the bass look that much better! Nice 😀 GLWTS Edit: if I didn't already have an amazing Jabba mini bass, I'd be sorely tempted. EDIT2: dammit! I'm still sorely tempted! Lol 😀
  13. I used to go to Rattle & Drum on Osmaston Road.
  14. Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 These are great amps well known for their tonal versatility and power to weight ratio. It is in excellent working condition with a few minor scratches and blemishes to the casing. Pickup preferred so you can try it through my cab but I’m happy to post at buyer’s expense in the UK only. I’m not looking for trades. It comes with mains lead and a gig-bag the rubber feet are missing from the amp and I suspect they were taken off so it would fit neatly in the bag.

  15. Regularly travel from Glasgow to Edinburgh on the train with bass in original hard case and haven't experienced any grief whatsomenever.
  16. Correct. Great sounding pickup and a great playing little vintage Fender!
  17. Miranda Sex Garden Richard Jeffries Museum Goths on a Field The challenge is to guess which one is a band...
  18. Congratulations on the offspring!
  19. The amp was pulled from a combo, so there isn’t really a case, as such! The heat sink should sort it. I don’t recall seeing a Trace combo with vent holes, and there’s no fan, so would assume it was designed to be fully enclosed. Equally happy cutting more holes if the experts think it worthwhile!
  20. Interesting. I had a look and have seen items that I know for a fact are no longer available anywhere else as "available in 8 days" on their website. I wonder if they have a secret warehouse of unsold stock or if they're taking orders that they can't fulfil.
  21. Oh yes - that's allowed! 🙂
  22. Typically, the voltage of an alkkaline cell rebounds when taken off load quite fast, then it slows down over a longer period, so if you measure when they come out of the bass after a gig it may have gone up a bit by the next one. It doesn't really affect the capacity but can mean a battery you thought was flat can appear to work OK for a while. Obviously, over months/years they self-discharge which is a different effect.
  23. People are allowed to protect their intellectual property and this includes schematic diagrams. If there is something "special" within that diagram sending out copies willy nilly means that anyone can clone that piece of 'special" rendering it worthless.
  24. Thanks for clarifying this one Paddy. I felt sure it probably had by now but thought I'd put the shout out just in case - you never know! ☺️
  25. Today
  26. Make sure that the amplifier sleeve doesn't block any ventilation holes in the amp's case. You don't want the amp to overheat in use.
  27. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
