  2. Thanks, Terry – much appreciated, mate. It's too good to be a backup!
  3. PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £300. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. For those players who need a portable, high-performance rig with even more low end than the XLT, Eden has designed a 2 x 10" cabinet for their XST woofers. Punchy and clean, the D210XST produces a full and clear tone through its two 10" speakers. It's excellent for delivering articulate bass lines with volume. This 2 x 10" cabinet handles more power than many 4 x 10" cabs on the market. The D210XST offers huge bottom end with its cleverly-designed tuned and ported cabinet construction and speaker selection: the low end is full but tight, the mids are open and well-defined and the highs are clear and crisp. Durable build quality makes this ideal for touring and live performances. All Eden enclosures are constructed with 5/8" thick void free plywood with full dado and rabbet jointing. Massive internal bracing prevents vibration and keeps the sound deep, tight and clear. Exclusive Eden Cast Frame loudspeakers and Eden Cast Bell low distortion tweeter horns are designed, hand-built and tested in their own factory in the USA. Very Good condition. Comes with an official Eden cover. Power Handling: 500 Watts Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2x10" Eden-spec Eminence EC1060XS speakers Tweeter: Eden Cast Bell low distortion Crossover: 3.5KHz @ 18dB Frequency Response: 30Hz - 14KHz Sensitivity: 103dB SPL Connections: Parallel 1/4 Inch and Speakon Dimensions: 23" w x 18" h x 18.5" d Weight: 59lbs / 26.8kg NOW ONLY £300. Collection from East London preferred, although happy for buyer to arrange a courier.

  5. I have a Fender USA P5 and the 'B' string sounds very good to my ears. It's also around 9lbs, so not a back-breaker. Here it is on the right.
  6. Having graciously bought Krispn's Anagram from him (legend btw), I'm finally happy to clear out pedals and board I don't need anymore. The Cali76TX isn't for sale, I just have not yoink'd it from the board yet. 7. No, I'm talking about Hobgoblin.
  8. If you go on the East website, all the wiring diagrams are on there for the different preamps.
  9. Are there dots on the side of the neck?
  10. This top class cab is part of my equipment sell off due to finally retiring from gigging. (You can see my recent post in ‘General Discussion’ on this forum) It has been used regularly but has been well cared for and is in excellent condition. I’ve used this with a standard Hartke LH500 and this has made an excellent rig with a clear punchy sound and good portability – cab weight is 25kg. (Hartke is also for sale on here) It comes with an unmarked and undamaged Roqsolid cover, and a standard Speakon cable (can also be used with a regular jack to jack cable) Included is a lightweight crate which is ideal for transporting leads, pedals etc but this also has a high density acoustic damping foam block fixed to the base. When the empty crate is inverted it makes an excellent riser for the cab and the foam helps avoid resonance on hollow stages. See the pictures. It’s easily the best cab I’ve ever owned in my long playing career, and it projects well at all volume levels. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Will pack carefully and courier to any UK destination at cost. Or you can arrange to collect from Chichester or Woking, or Putney in London Sensibly priced at £500, go on, treat yourself ! 😊

  11. Yes. Exactly as per the older version. USB midi controller like a Disaster Area one
  12. Oh boy! Popcorn time! 😃
  13. Why not try a .120? It opened my MG Quantum 5 SPi to sound super instead of decent. You need to make trials. There are no short-cuts.
  14. Strings should get proportionally bigger as you go lower in pitch, in my experience, to keep consistent tension. I use a D'Addario .145 for my B (sometimes drop A) on my 34" ESP Jazz 4 banger which I have tuned BEAD. It's a mighty low, nice feel to it, doesn't feel like overcooked spaghetti like a lot of light B strings. The full set is B .145 E .107 A .80 D .60 Simple rule of thumb is whatever you use for E on a 4 string should translate to your E on a 5 string. Hops of .20 as you get lower simply don't do the job, but a 34" scale bass is just fine for low tunings. Go big with the string.
  15. My Sire P7-5 was very nice straight out of the box. Nice B string, sounds like a P, didn't break the bank. Even the tort scratch plate looks good. However I'm leaning slightly more towards my Sterling Sub5 now that I've fitted a Retrovibe Stinger preamp. It's a bit lighter with closer string spacing and again very affordable. I do gig both of them though.
  16. I've just found a Stentor 1/2 size but don't know much about sizes and how it compares to a 5/8.
  17. I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.

    Jazz Fake Books

Walking is easiest to start from the basics like what notes are in a chord. Diminished, minor, major, 6, 7, maj7. A good addition is to understand sus4, half diminished, as well as ±5. Learn in this order: 1) two beat 2) four beat 3) walking up and down, both up to 2 octaves, and in as small area as possible (like staying in half position) While walking when you see a maj7, play a 6 instead of maj7, or use it sparingly. It has a distinctive tone. These were the basics that my bass teacher taught me years back. (I am still pretty bad.) I had a few books like Modern walking bass technique by Mike Richmond that had better rhythmic ideas than simple quarter notes. I suppose any walking bass book can open your ears to better rhythmic approach: pauses can be as effective as notes at the right places. (I still have lots of issues, especially with rhythms.) And last but definitely not least: listen. NHØP, Brian Bromberg, Marc Johnson. They seem to play only the right notes in right places. Incredible playing.
  20. Thanks Tom. 👍 I can’t fault it - TBH, it’s more than I need as we always DI. Hence, I’ll got for a little combo as a backup. This needs to be cranked up and used! 😀
  21. As the title says Have a 5 string 35" yamaha rbx775 and love it to death. Wouldn't mind more low B clarity though and haven't won lotto recently so a 37 " Ding is off the table. Any experience and tips for better low B clarity? 130 gauge B? Raise action? Raise pickups? EQ accordingly etc? What strings do you guys recommend for nice even tension? Thanks in advance Michael
  22. Could really do with moving this on as my half pay kicks in next week!
