Phil Jones Bass D400 amp review from a blind player's perspective
JGSpector replied to JGSpector's topic in Amps and Cabs
Hi Andy. yes it does. I've never had a flightcase combo so i can't make the direct comparison myself. But certainly the smoothing out the signal and making it sound more 3D very much describes my experience with the compressor. I'm not sure that's necessarily helped but hope it's at least confirmed what you are thinking. Cheers, James -
Please help before I throw my pedalboard out the window 🤣

Well, the HX fuzz models are not very good, and really the filers and synths aren't great either. -
I could have done. But the overall standardisation (QC) of the product’s manufacture is one factor that is relevant to the end price. There are also wages, machine v employee ratio, raw materials, shipping, tariffs, desirability/ market value and probably more. All the end buyer sees is the end product, the made in/ crafted in sticker and reputation gained/ lost from reviews. You hear it all the time on BC, “japanese fenders are the best”. Any factors other than the location are made irrelevant due to the reputation earned.

Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck
Si600 replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
Not only that, but it's constrained by the hole it's in, even if the plug does split it has no room to expand so the screw will still be held in. With a pilot hole to remove the material that's in the way of the screw you'll be fine drilling and plugging. -

Thanks very for the replies. I brought the head home to try a few things, but last night at rehearsal used a '55 Pbass and input at 3:00, tube 3:00 to full on, not much in terms of EQ--a little bass and a touch of mids. I don't think of this bass as having weak output either. When I glanced over I never recall the needle moving much at all. I never even get to half way unless I'm trying and really dig in with any bass. I have also noticed that sometimes I get more overdrive than other times with the settings the same. Obviously the output of each bass varies, so that is a factor. Last night I never noticed any overdrive with the above settings, and I'm not shooting for distortion.

Built up photograph here, Chris (stand not included in the sale, it seemed to cost nearly as much as the bass...) and another showing some more cosmetic damage. Electrics survived the fall without damage, yes. Another interested party has asked about the possibility of having it sent: I do have the original Yamaha shipping box so it's at least theoretically possible. I had a quick look at what it might cost and if one adds the insurance to cover the value, it would probably be around £80-£100. It was shipped to me via DPD and they would do it uninsured for about £15, I guess the original shipment was covered by the shop's insurance.

Eminence s2010 in solid DIY cab tuffcab painted blue with metal grille. Apologies, can't get pic to upload but it's a really solid tight cab. I don't want to part it out....the cab has no value....but think of it as a speaker with free cab, combination Speakon ( 1/4 and speakon) and metal corners. Sounds great, particularly with my GK mb200. Very useful for small gigs, punches well beyond weight and size. Collection please, meet up within reason. Thanks Martin

fuzzrocious big fella overdrive distortion fuzz pedal used live a couple of times, but only ever for one particular song and it feels silly to have such a great pedal going relatively unused not too fussed if this doesn't sell, so offers would have to be close to list price comes with original box, stickers etc. has velcro on the back £150, includes UK P&P.

Gallien krueger neo 212 8 ohm. Still pretty smart overall but not perfect; given me great service over the last 5 years. Includes Roqsolid fitted cover and a spare used gk neo 12 16 ohm driver in serviceable condition. I've used it at small venues all the way up to supporting bands as varied as Focus and The Lighting Seeds. No rational reason for selling but my BC 1x12 will suffice in a lean period for gigs. Struggling to add pics, hopefully can add in posts to follow. UK sale only. Can meet up within reason on the motorway. Thanks Martin

Awesome low gain overdrive, that can also be used as a medium gain gated fuzz. Super versatile and has been my go to drive pedal for the last 2 years. Excellent condition, with original box (not in pics, but it’s here). Velcro on the bottom. Asking £100 posted in the UK. Collection in Derby is welcomed.
